Centrally located, quiet end of street, beautiful room, antique styled

I loved it all

We really liked everything about the property! Great location, in the center of the ancient Plaka district. Very close to the most popular attractions! 5 minutes walk to the Acropolis, nearby is also the Acropolis Museum, Hadrian's Arch, Temple of Zeus, Botanical Garden, a little further, but also very close to the main square of the city and the Parliament building. The location deserves top marks💯 The apartment itself is very beautiful, we chose a room with a marble bathroom and toilet, as well as a skylight. There is also access to a balcony and all amenities. We lived there for a week, and during that week they even cleaned our room, changed the bed linen, towels and slippers, which was very nice😊 The owners are very nice and helpful people who were always concerned whether everything was fine with us, and they also own a cafe on the ground floor, where they treated us to free Greek sweets. I definitely recommend these apartments, we will stay there again!

Location, Location, Location. The room was set up perfect for a couple (or very close friends). I like that the toilet and the shower were separated. The host left a welcome bottle of wine, some fruits and coffee machine with coffee.

The room had 2 air fresheners that were overpowering. We were able to unplug one and set it outside the room. The complimentary soaps and shampoos were also heavily scented. Easy fix, just bring your own toiletries.

We were within walking distance of many sites we wanted to see. Others were easy to reach via metro. The room is well appointed and very quiet. Renovations were done well. Hosts responded quickly to our questions and needs. We appreciated the wine, water, coffee pods and juice waiting for us. The room is dark, great for those wanting an afternoon siesta. We were pleasantly surprised to have our sheets and towels changed every 2 days.

The foldout single bed was extremely uncomfortable.

Our third visit to Step One and have to say it gets better and better! If you're staying in Athens, there is no better place to stay! The location is the best you can get, close to everything and right in the heart of beautiful Plaka. Close to the metro if you need it and shops, bars and restaurants are just outside the door. But still, the room is very quiet and you could hear nothing from outside. We had the Stiles room, which was absolutely gorgeous. Equipped with everything you need and very clean. Even the TV was a smart TV, which was a very appreciated thing. Marios, the owner, kept in touch with us constantly as our trip was getting closer and was very very helpful in everything. He even kindly organised transfers for us from the airport and back. The transfers company was very professional, had luxurious and clean cars, and were very friendly and helpful. Marios really went out of his way to make our stay memorable and very easy. The staff at the ice cream shop below were also very helpful and even kept our luggage after our check out until it was time for our taxi to come pick us up and take us to the airport. Highly recommend this place. If you are looking to go to Athens, look no further! Step One is the best you can go for!

Nothing at all. It was perfect!

I loved EVERYTHING about this property and suite!!! A beautiful private rooftop terrace right off of a sliding door to the bedroom. The kitchen & bathroom were stocked with essentials if you forgot anything and the air freshener in the apartment smelt amazing! There were even a safe to put your valuables in, if needed. There is a very close backside view of the Parthenon from the private terrace. This luxury suite is located right above the owners Marios’s donut and coffee shop. Marios and the workers in the shop was sooo kind and helpful! The location is right in the heart of the Plakas and less than a 5 minute walk to the Acropolis and very close to the metro. This is a place that I will always come back to stay! Definitely a 10 out of 10!

The location was great, in the middle of the action, close to shops and cafes, easy walk to acropolis and acropolis metro as well as other notable sights. Marios was always prompt and helpful with his replies and the young man Nicholas who helped me with my bag was outstanding and ever so nice and helpful. Only has a couple of issues being a member of the older retired generation, one was navigating the very narrow door with bags when entering from the street was very challenging as were the stairs to get to the room, and, although the room was spotlessly clean and modern, I found the smell of the cleaning products used were overpowering (took my breath away) and the smell lingered in the room for hours, well into the evening after checking in at 2pm. This may have been a one off and reported it to Marios whom I am sure will make changes to ensure this is not repeated.

Entry through the cafe below was better but still had to navigate a very narrow gap to get up the stairs…..not sure what the solution is for this one except putting a wider door at street entry.

Location was excellent, about 5 mins walk to the SOUTH entrance of the Acropolis Hill and Acropolis Museum. South entrance of the Acropolis hill was not busy compared to the North which is the main one. Personally I recommend entering south entrance then exiting the north and be there early 8:00am. You can leave your luggage at Pete's Ice Cream if needed. Marios was very helpful and responsive in my inquiry. Cleaning lady was very helpful as well. The street in front of the hotel has plenty of shops, from food to souvenirs. The street will also lead you to the Roman Agora, Ancient Agora and Monasteraki about 10mins walk but you wont feel it as the street is full of shops and you'll be surprised you've arrive to your destination. Temple of Zues is just around the corner as well as the RED Sightseeing BUS. Closest Station is AKROPOLI (beware of pickpockets, they usually create a distraction like jamming the train door while their accomplice pick your pocket, they use a chest bag to disguise their arms while stealing). From the airport you can get a train to SYNTAGMA then change to for the Red Line towards Elliniko and get off at AKROPOLI, very easy. If you have luggage it wont be a problem as there are escalators from the stations. Although there was a little section of street cobble stones which was not really a problem. To find the Hotel I think it is easier to look for PETE's ICE CREAM as the door of the hotel is small and is beside an ATM.

Every detail was thoughtfully arranged to create a relaxing and stylish atmosphere. What truly made my stay special was the outstanding hospitality. The room was a great size, modern, comfortable bed, great shower and handy kitchenette area with fridge. When we arrived the aircon was on which was great and lovely touches with the wine, note and magnet. Also brilliant to have water and juice in the fridge! The location couldn't be better and especially for the price, I think it's exceptionally good value. You're on the doorstep of the Acropolis and lots of gorgeous restaurants and bars. Easy to follow instructions for check in and check out well in advance. Honestly couldn't ask for more. Thank you!!
