Great location. Great service from staff. Food excellent. However we had to change rooms due to only one window that you could not open due to it rotting Next room good but all bedding was feathered which I’m allergic to, towels need replacing as they are old and grey. Duvet cover needs up grading mattress needs a mattress protector topper needs a protector. Rug needs cleaning lots of stains Upholstery needs cleaning

I’ve already specified what I do like. The above is what I don’t like. Sorry comments above in wrong box. Great staff very friendly. Food was excellent. Great location good size room attention needs to be placed on beds protectors and bedding and towels Specifically on stained rugs. Stains on arm chairs

Nice pub in a great location. We stopped off here with some friends for the night on our Cotswold cycle tour. A very nice friendly village pub with an attractive courtyard garden. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The pub was kind enough to let us park our expensive e-bikes in a locked room for the night. We had an excellent evening meal which surpassed our expectations. I had fish and chips which had a superb Hawkstone beer batter which melted in your mouth, possibly the best fish and chips I have had in a long time. Good value for money.

Just a note to be aware of. Our friends had a beautiful room but unfortunately it was the room above the kitchen which made it unbearably hot and smelly due to the kitchen fumes. Please avoid booking this room. The management were very apologetic and gave us a free breakfast as a gesture of goodwill, which was very kind. It seems to be just this one room that is affected.

Lovely old inn, pleasant staff. Spacious bar area. Large airy bedroom with interesting old details

No hint in the booking that there was only continental breakfast included. Cooked breakfast prices were exorbitant. No prior advice that "En-suite Bathroom" was only a set of visible items IN THE BEDROOM, bath, shower and wash basin. Separate WC cubicle but still in bedroom. NO privacy and no shower curtain provided. Had we know this we would have booked elsewhere instead.

The welcome we received was excellent. The room was very nice and we were made to feel welcome, along with our dog. Dinner was also really good with a small selection on the menu, which was nice and breakfast was great too.

The hot tap in the bath would not turn off. We did report this but appreciated that the staff were unable to do much on a Saturday evening and eventually we managed to stop it running. We booked a table for 8:30, which was at the end of their serving period and did feel that the staff were over stretched, tired and we ended up going to the bar to ask them to take our order.

We stayed in the cob which was a spacious, yet cosy room at the rear of the pub. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was great, loved the classic cotswolds furnishing! We hadn’t booked to eat in the restaurant / pub but after walking in and seeing how cosy it was we decided to stay and eat - we sat by the fire in the bar and it was very chilled with great atmosphere. The General manager of the pub was fantastic and friendly, and so were the rest of the staff. Highly recommended

The property itself is great however I would highlight it is in a village with nothing other than this pub or a few walks - so plan your day accordingly 😊

We were given the double room on the top floor(room 6) and it was so quiet . The bed was exceptionally comfortable, but the best thing about this room was the huge bath . A very welcome addition as I'm recovering from an operation and this weekend was to help me recuperate, the bath definitely helped with that. The room was lovely and clean and the addition of the fan was great. All the staff were very friendly and attentive, especially the general manager, we had a couple of minor hick ups with our evening meal but these were dealt with quickly. The food was delicious, and a special mention to the guys on the pizza oven and grill , the steak and the garlic bread was exceptional! We will definitely be returning.

Only one small thing , there was no mirror near a socket to be able to dry my hair . I had to use my phone camera to try and do it which wasn't ideal . If you could add one Into the room it would definitely be a 11 out of 10 ! 🙂

We thought the room was excellent. Very comfortable bed/pillows. Very clean and the helpful addition of a small kitchen in the cob room. The bathroom was lovely, very well finished. Village location is perfect and the evening meal menu was excellent.

We thought the continental breakfast included would have been improved if some pastries/ cheeses/ cold meats were available. The room was really lovely, but if staying for more than a night we would have appreciated a curtain across the door to outside as the small door window shone sunlight into the bedroom at an early hour which woke us up as its directly opposite the bed. So perhaps giving this consideration in future would make the room a 10/10 to stay in. An iron and board in the room would be ideal for a longer stay.

The whole ambience was lovely ...friendly Helpful. We were moved immediately when I asked ..not because of the room it was lovely but because we had 2 toddlers running around above us wasn't.a problem at all...the second room probably wasn't as nice as the first but was still lovely .. The second room had a bath with step in shower and was rather high fir my little legs ...and also slippery a slip mat would be a good idea before someone has an accident. We ate in the restaurant which was also good. We didn't understand why we were charged £14 service charge as we were resident and was removed without question. Breakfast was continental with fry up as an extra cost, on of our group had it and it looked amazing. We loved the surrounding Cotswolds and had a lovely day at Bleinham game fair. Would love to return. Thank you The KaznicaAnd the Turners

The food is very good with lovely outdoor seating area. The staff were very good and helpful. Our room was large and airy with a cooling fan - as the weather was very hot - and a large comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast although cooked breakfast had an extra charge which we thought was a bit cheeky.

We had a bath within the room plus a wash hand basin. The shower was in the bath with no curtain so extremely difficult to use with spraying water everywhere. The toilet was separate but behind a really in adequate sliding door. Not offering any real privacy. The room was large but no wardrobe just hangers on wall and two large chest of drawers/cupboards which had been painted and then distressed - not my particular taste - but the drawers and doors were really difficult to open. All design and no practical use. Also plug socket for hairdryer nowhere near the mirror so not easy to dry your hair.

Friendly and helpful staff. Pizza and risotto both very good and food generally is of a very good standard.

It was not made clear on the booking that the included breakfast was continental only and that a further charge was payable for a cooked option. The cooked option is quite expensive. The venue allows dogs within the breakfast room. Its not particularly pleasant trying to enjoy breakfast with a strong dog aroma and yapping. Although the area is quiet there is limited parking so cars need to be parked on the road overnight. Comfortable room (No 6) but no separation between the bath and bedroom.
