Breakfast was just ok. For 4 star I expected a little more variety. Would love berries and yoghurt. Fruit smoothie. Waffles. Black pudding. Hot chocolate was not available.

Dinner service tables could do with tablecloths and more desserts. Like a fruit plate or side of green veg. The room was lovely new carpet new bathroom nice beds . Perfect and comfie. Only complaint was lack of room lighting. Couldn't see much because not enough light. Had to go to bathroom for light.

Room was great (there was a colour changeable LED strip thing which I haven't seen before), staff really friendly. There was building work going on at the hotel, but it didn't effect things in the slightest. The gym was incredible, everything looked brand new, it wasn't particularly busy. The pool, sauna and steam room were also really good, again not overly busy.

Breakfast was a little disappointing for this type of a hotel, in terms of selection. Also one morning I went down 15 minutes before end of breakfast and staff were already taking full plates of food back to the kitchen. Typically when I've stayed in similar places previously this begins after the breakfast period has ended rather than 15 minutes before.

A spacious room with comfortable beds and a posh en suite in a quiet area. Very pleased we had access to open the window, unlike many other hotels, and a fan was also provided in the room, which helped maintain a comfortable temperature through the night. And as a bonus, we were on the side of the building with a view to the Victoria Quays!

They were not listed features, so they were not expected, but AC would have been a welcome addition to the room, especially if it had been any warmer (we went on an 18°C day), and there was an [unexpected] fridge in the room, however it did not seem to be plugged in/switched on (we couldn't find where it would've been plugged in to check for a switch) so it was more of just an insulated cupboard.

Location and having the leisure facilities

The water is not hot in the shower, it was fixed then the next day it was the same.Receptionist said to run it for longer but my wife had been on before me and had a shower, how long should it take, even the water in tap was Luke warm, but apart from the that room was great, we were on the fourth floor and it had been refurbished, the breakfast was good as well. I had stayed in this hotel several times when it was a Hilton on business years ago, the gym area has been improved since then and it is a good location for the crucible.

When we realised the hotel was undergoing some refurbishment we wondered if that would affect our stay but we need not have worried. Our room was on the 5th floor with a lovely view over the Quays. Very clean, comfortable and even had a small fridge. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast is self service and my husband said the full English was good. I prefer cereal, fruit and toast which was fine.

I was surprised there was no hairdryer in our room, although I didn’t need to use one. Didn’t know there was a charge for parking until we arrived.

Booked this hotel as we were in town for a concert. It did say they had renovations being done so I was cautious. We were in one of the newly furnished rooms and it was beautiful. The bathroom was huge and spotless, the room was also a great size and spotless. The bed was extremely comfortable. We had a view of the canal which was lovely. This hotel was only a 10 minute walk from the Train station, was a great price and the staff were very helpful.

While the work is ongoing there doesn't seem to be a bar , but I am sure when the renovations are complete it will.

The hotel as a whole is general. We return to this hotel at the same time each year for a competition in the city which my daughter competes in. The newly renovated rooms are beautiful and comfortable.

It is undergoing renovation. Unfortunately the bar and restaurant were closed, so we were unable to relax and unwind with food and drinks upon returning to the hotel in the evening. They had a limited selection of bottled drinks available from reception, but we had to order a takeaway to be delivered to the hotel. Breakfast was still served, however. But I did feel the choices and quality of the breakfast were lacking compared to previous stays. We were not informed that the bar and restaurant would be closed up until a couple of days before we were due to stay.

The location is great for access to town. The bar/restaurant staff were excellent. The bar tender/waiter on the evening of the 17th was very attentive and accommodating towards our family party. Breakfast was superb and great value for money. The car park is convenient and not too expensive. The seating areas around the hotel are spacious and comfortable. The gym and pool looked great, sadly we didn't have time to use them. We would definitely stay again.

The hotel is being renovated. Unfortunately, our 2nd floor room was directly below the floor currently being worked on. We were woken up around 7 a.m. This didn't affect our stay too much, but guests need to be made more aware on booking.

Great refurbished rooms, thought of everything for the new refit. Hotel definitely on the list for when we are next in Sheffield for an overnighter. Good location for ease of access to the city centre.

Why do person feel it's OK to smoke, vape and potentially the odd funny fag, just near the reception entrance. If persons need to smoke then that's the choice you made to impact your own health, please don't put me at risk also. Would be great if there was a smoking shelter away from the main building. Hope the feedback helps for to ensure they have an even better experience

Easy to find, good parking, although had to pay £8 per night through booking.com, if we had booked direct it would be free so not best pleased. Lots of renovations that we all got told about the week before we were due.
