Room was outdated

I love this place, the rooms, and the environment in general. This may sound stupid, but their shower is within a tub instead of a walk-in like so many. I adore this for when I need to shave my legs. Not having to do a flamingo, one-leg-up stance is awesome.

Our only problem has ever been with the restaurant. First time, pipes burst. Obviously not anything to be done about that. Second time, they would only seat us in the bar and with a limited menu. That being said, I'll still be back for everything else on the property.

The room was fine and I’m glad we paid for lake view. The two meals were good w/ huge portions so we shared breakfast. The walk around the lake, the fire pits that were lit, the jazz in the bar on Tuesday night were all good.

The balcony had rust, a broken rail and peeling paint, and the mattress was a bit saggy. The jacuzzi really didn’t have enough power in the jets.

The resort was beautiful with flowers blooming everywhere....The food at the resort was a 10.. EVERYONE who worked at that resort was kind and very competent...The best place to stay in Blowing Rock...It exceeded our expectations. Even though we did not use the spa the staff was kind and generous even giving us some free samples to take home. Aisha, the bartender was exceptionally awesome...Kind with a great personality....

I can not think of anything that would have made this stay any better.

Property well maintained. On-site restaurant, recreation center, spa, lake house with paddle boats etc., walking paths, benches. Housekeeping staff was outstanding! Very polite, helpful, accessible.

Food Market not well stocked most of our stay! Orvis not well stocked. On-site activities limited / not organized or well published. Pool activities could have included water aerobics. Spa services published / not all services offered (e.g. back facial)

The resort was perfectly located close to dining and shopping yet isolated enough to feel very quiet and serene.

It was difficult to get reservations for the sporting reserve and spa. If you go to the resort plan in advance to get the recreation spots and spa appointments. It was also recommended to get reservations at The Bob Timberlake Restaurant. The food was good but pricey. It would have been nice if there were more options for small plates.

Amenities available on site were excellent. Very convenient location to local activities. Staff was very helpful.

The pool should be open at 6AM like most hotels, not 10AM The game room should open before 9AM. Children awaken very early because they are accustomed to school hours. Entertainment before the fog clears is difficult in the room when others are still sleeping. They should offer an American Plan (breakfast and dinner) or at least a breakfast option.

The hotel is nice, room was clean, no problems with anything. Nice outside and amenities were ok. I enjoyed but I think is over priced. The restaurant is great! Regular priced and great food! I had all my meals there and I was very pleased.

The location was fabulous, walkable from Blowing Rock town, next to trails, beautiful lake where we saw deer and nearby the Blue Ridge Parkway. Room was huge and beautifully decorated. So pleased to have real mugs and glasses! The only hotel during our 3 week trip to the USA to do away with disposable cups! Yippee and full marks for that.

Brief moment at check-in where they refused to recognise rate agreed through Booking.com. and tried to over-charge - shame. They did back down but it was an unpleasant moment. We intended to treat ourselves to a meal in the (very pricey) restaurant during our stay but were told they were out of stock of wine! What????!!! There was a supermarket round the corner .... why on earth wouldn't you send staff there to buy a few bottles to get by??? The hotel would easily make a profit selling that - an unacceptable scenario for what was otherwise a top notch resort hotel.

Employees were very cordial and welcoming. We enjoyed the outdoor aspects.

We have been to chetola numerous times. The decor in the room this trip was very minimal. Not a fan of the hard floors... Could hear the guest on the floor above us walking around very loudly...we could hear the guest's tv from across the hall in our room with our door shut. They need to bring back their breakfast buffet. The toilet made a loud when the tank would fill back up, would wake us up during the night.
