What I loved most about our stay at the Holiday Inn in Sacramento was the exceptional hospitality—we were warmly welcomed, and every staff member we encountered was genuinely kind and helpful. The room was spotless and had a fresh, clean scent that made it feel extra inviting. The bed was incredibly comfortable—I honestly didn’t want to get out of it! Breakfast was a treat each morning, with a variety of delicious options to start the day right. The lobby was another highlight—beautifully designed with cozy, stylish seating. We traveled with another couple and spent time relaxing there just chatting; the chairs were so comfortable, we could’ve stayed for hours. The location couldn’t have been better—just steps from the outdoor mall, fantastic restaurants, and great entertainment, all within easy walking distance. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that made our trip even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

I would have appreciated a refillable water bottle.

I recently stayed again at the Holiday Inn Sacramento Downtown-Arena and chose this hotel primarily for its convenient location and reasonable price. Having stayed here before, I knew it would be a solid option for a comfortable and well-situated stay in Sacramento. Location: 5/5 The hotel is perfectly located in downtown Sacramento, just a short walk from Golden 1 Center, making it a great choice for anyone attending an event or game. It's also close to Old Sacramento, restaurants, and local attractions, which is a major plus. The accessibility to major highways and public transportation is another reason this hotel works well for both business and leisure trips. Price & Value: 4/5 Compared to other hotels in the area, the pricing is competitive, especially considering the location. While it’s not the most luxurious option, it offers a solid balance of affordability and convenience. Given Sacramento’s rising hotel rates, I found it to be a great value for what you get.

One thing I didn’t like was that some parts of the hotel feel a bit dated and could use some upgrades. While the room was clean and comfortable, the furnishings and decor seemed a bit worn, and certain areas, like the hallways and elevators, showed signs of age.

Management was very friendly and helpful. We were able to check in when we arrived mid-morning instead of waiting until 3:00. We traveled by train, so that was appreciated. Close location to Amtrak station. The hotel was clean and comfortable.

Expensive breakfast. Over $60 for 2 to eat. The selection of food items was limited. Crowded due to convention members. The hotel is a bit dated. The cost per night was higher than expected, considering the age of the facility. Perhaps this was due to the downturn location No refrigerator or microwave in room.

We attended a concert at the Golden One Arena (Heart)…and the hotel is a very short walk through a mall area (about one block) that is lighted well, with lots of foot traffic. Many concert goers stay at this property.

The parking situation is not the best. We parked in the public parking garage that is located just south of the hotel (a very short walk to the hotel)…right next to it. It’s $25 a night and requires a parking validation from the hotel. The hotel also has minimal parking areas, which are nice if there is available spaces. The downside is if you leave your space….their might not be one when you return.

The hotel location was perfect for our stay. It was a 5 min walk to the Golden One Center for our concert and walking distance to Old Town Sacramento for some sightseeing & the Railroad Museum (highly recommend). Breakfast was good with a variety of choices. Room was clean & spacious. The bathroom had plenty of hot water. Overall, we would stay again.

We did hear a lot of street noise. After some investigating, it seemed like the seal around the window wasn't set properly and that allowed for excessive street noise.

The location is ideal for visiting DOCO, the arena, Old Sacramento, the Leland Stanford Mansion, the Crocker Museum. These are all just around the corner or within a 10-minute walk as is the Sacramento Valley train station. The beds were very comfortable; the room clean; the staff was exceptionally helpful in giving us directions and recommendations.

Why would anyone put the soap dispenser half way up the wall about 3 feet from the nearest sink? It's awkward and inconvenient.

We had a fantastic stay at the Downtown Holiday Inn Hotel! The location is perfect, with easy access to shops and just a short walk to Old Sacramento, which made exploring the area incredibly convenient. The highlight of our stay was the excellent service we received in the hotel's restaurant. Erica, our server, was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and always ready with great recommendations. She truly made our dining experience special. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the staff is welcoming. We highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Sacramento!

The homeless people who gather close the hotel and no more valet service.

Staff on check in was not super nice. Very cold, no eye contact, no conversation.. but not rude either, so I guess ok. However, they could and should be much better. We liked the hotel. It is older hotel but clean. Location is great. Pool is ok, area around the pool could be nicer. Parking should be cheaper if not free. It is ridiculous that the garage next to the hotel is cheaper than hotel parking. Breakfast was ok, just don't understand server's job there; food you take from buffet, which is fine, but drinks you can't, server has to bring you coffee/tea and then they bring a bill with tip suggestions, even though breakfast was pre-paid when booking the hotel. Just find that unnecessary.

Location, location, location! Convenient to downtown, old town, and easy access to metro transportation system. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful, rooms super comfy too.

The shower curtain in the accessible room was hung a half-inch above the water barrier. This meant having water flow onto the bathroom floor while taking a shower, making the toilet area not only wet, but slippery. So much for handicapped access safety.

I loved the location and I thought that the price was very affordable. The room was very clean and spacious. We needed accessible parking and there was never an issue. Breakfast was available but we did not get a chance to go down and get it.

I didn't like the breakfast started later so, I wasn't able to stop and get any. The lighting in the room was a little dark but we got through it. We had to drive where we needed to go, but it wasn't a big determining factor.
