Fantastic location, very quiet and the sorroundings are simply beatiful. The room was big and clean, we stayed for one week and we really apreciated the space in the room. For our dog they prepared a dog's bed with two bowls. Restourant was good.

Some staff menbers were great other were very imprepared. In general good, but the service was very dependant on who was the waiter in the restourant. The menu in my opinion was short and the clousure time at 20:00 of the kitchen is too early. (at least 21:00).

We arrived at Hotel Jelka after hiking Stage 5 of the Juliana Trail. This is a difficult stage made more difficult by the extremely poor trail markings and the hour long deluge of rain we endured. Needless to say, we arrived at the Hotel Jelka late (5:30) and bedraggled. We were the only guests in this beautiful space. The manager told us the kitchen was closing at 6 (not sure if that is normal or due to 2 guests) so we hustled into our rooms and back down. He was very gracious in serving us. We had a delicious barley soup with meat and bread and salad. The hotel looks like new - all light wood - very Scandinavian in appearance. The beds were comfortable and the shower worked well. We had a very inviting long balcony facing the woods that every room can access. We made an early start the next day for Stage 6 and breakfast was not until 7:30 so the manager made us both a breakfast/lunch bag. This bag contained fruit and yogurt, which we ate there, and a wonderful sandwich that we ate at the viewpoint overlooking the upper Bohinj Valley. It was wonderful - so many thanks! The Hotel Jelka is literally in the woods, just 150 m down the road from the Pokljuka Hotel (formerly the Sport Hotel). Both hotels lie on the road that is the beginning of Stage 6. Pick the Jelka! It is wonderful. We just wished we could have stayed a couple of days.

We really enjoyed our stay and would 100 % recommend Hotel Jelka. The location is superb and the rooms are very calming and spacious. We loved the smell of wood in the room.

We would have preferred a private balcony as our neighbours got up at 7am and had a loud conversation in front of our window plus smoked. The smoke went straight into our room. The breakfast buffet was nice, but not refilled, so if you show up after 9am you end up with the leftovers.

Spacious room with a balcony, multiple doors to enjoy the fresh breeze flowing through, and comfy beds. A delicious menu of local dishes at the restaurant with very friendly and hard-working staff. Beautiful view of the surrounding forest and pastures from the expansive patio and cozy nooks in the restaurant to stay and enjoy an evening drink.

Staff were busy running the restaurant so it took us a while to check in (understandably). The polka music playing in the lobby and restaurant was charming at first but was too loud and wore after a while. But the stay was really great, the best place in the area!

Nice and charming small hotel on a hill with a beautiful view. The room was spacious and clean; the view from the balcony was lovely and the location of the hotel is perfect for a relaxing and quiet stay. Breakfast was great and the staff was really friendly. You can eat lunch/dinner in the hotel restaurant, and everything we had was tasty.

This is a beautiful hotel right on the road that is the end of Stage 5/beginning of Stage 6 on the Juliana Trail. There are two hotels here: the Pokljuka Hotel (formerly the Sport Hotel) and the Jelka. We really enjoyed the Jelka - wish we could have stayed longer. Comfortable beds, hot showers and a nice dining room.

Wonderful location between both lakes, nice room and bathroom, very spacious and comfortable, great staff and very good breakfast. Already planning to come back.

The only thing is that the room we chose didn't have a proper shower isolation wetting the bathroom. But even that was understandable taking into account the architecture, but for a longer stay it could be a problem.

Very nice place in peaceful nature. We were here with our dog, the hotel even prepared a dog bed and bowls for him. The hotel restaurant is an advantage, it was nice to have some beer and food after a hike. We really enjoyed our stay.

I stayed at the hotel with my dog and they even provided bowls and a bed which was very nice. Great starting point for a hike too.

The room I stayed in wasn’t very soundproof and I could hear people walking pretty loudly.

The staff here were fantastic and ensured that we had a great stay. Our room had a beautiful view of the forest and meadows. It’s a great stop if you’re walking the Juliana trail or are looking to explore other trails in the area. We used the sauna and would recommend it for a rainy day.
