Beautiful historic villa with an amazing view from the portico. The main frescoed reception room was also stunning and we were very happy with the large size of the room and large at least king size bed. The manager of the hotel was very friendly and welcomed the guests at breakfast. The location is very useful if you're looking for somewhere just outside Florence which is close to the airport and within easy reach of Chianti.

This hotel could be fantastic in the low season if there were more staff and facilities. The main room could be a real hub with a bar area or if another room opened with a cosy fireplace. We expected more reception rooms in a villa of this stature and the lack of staff made it feel quite empty. The room we had overlooked a messy caravan area of the property next door and the valley was hidden by trees. The spa area in the basement didn't meet our expectations with no natural light and a sauna that was very small and not hot at all. The jacuzzi area was better but the red lights weren't particularly relaxing or elegant. The villa could be really fantastic with a bit more investment

This was an incredibly beautiful location just 30 minutes south of Florence. We loved the house and our rooms. Breakfast and dinner were elaborate and delicious. The pool was gorgeous and the staff were generous with their time. The owner even helped recommend an incredible Chianti Classico winery for us to visit that worked even for our kids once afternoon--they loved walking through the vines and fields as much as we did. The rooms were absolutely lovely, one was extremely large and worked so well for our families. They positioned our two rooms together which was so convenient. I wish we'd had more time to relax and explore because it was a truly beautiful experience.

We somehow mis-booked on booking.com and they ended up charging us 90 Euros for our two small children (6 years old) which was a shock at the end of the trip. That said, I understand they have expenses and offer reasonable rates overall and we were happy to accommodate (it was our mistake of course) but wish they'd told us this when we discussed the accommodation numbers at the beginning of the check in and not just at check-out. Otherwise, we wouldn't change a single thing.

Staying at Villa Il Poggiale Dimora Storica was like stepping back in time. The villa, with its 600-year-old history, is an incredibly charming. The service was exceptional. The staff were not only friendly and welcoming but also very knowledgeable about the villa's history and the local area. The surroundings of the villa are simply stunning. Nestled in the beautiful Tuscan countryside, the views from the property are breathtaking. The well-maintained gardens and serene atmosphere provided a perfect environment for vacation.

Beautiful old country house, which they kindly gave you the run of. A library, drawing room, gardens etc. the staff were all lovely and there was a general relaxed feeling about the place which made us feel very comfortable.

We ate dinner at the restaurant and were hoping for something a little more local cuisine - ideally trying local game. Our lively waiter did not know what he was serving when asked and the portions were a bit small.

The villa was amazing. We had a very good stay and felt welcome there. Staff was very attentive and positive. The location was in a beautiful place, with a view on Tuscany. The rooms had a historical and toscanian vibe and were very spacious. One of the best hotels I have ever been!

The restaurant could be open every day. But apart from that, I don't think that there is anything that I didn't enjoy.

Beautiful location in countryside with marvellous views. Historic house with charm.

Our room was large and cool but dark and with a rather small bathroom on the ground floor. It had no views and was quite noisy due to cars parking next to it and people passing in front of the windows early in the morning (no privacy).

Breakfast was classic European as would be expected from someone from the USA. Everything was fresh and the cappuccino was great. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The room was comfortable and the location was perfect for our intended festivities. Keep up the great work!

The only negative I can think of is the subpar wine selection offered at seven euros of glass.

The property is very beautiful and charming. Located in a beautiful landscape.

We were given a room on the ground floor-basement with a small high window (although we asked for accommodation on higher floors). It was next door to the kitchen and it was terribly noisy until 11 p.m. It was terribly important that we arrive by 7 p.m. (they called us around 4 p.m. and asked where we were!?)

The hotel was fabulous, we had junior suite on the ground floor for our family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 14 & 12, it was a very large room and the sofa bed the kids slept on was large and comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace in the morning was excellent with lots of home made pastries and other options. The honesty bar was also really good and very reasonably priced for a hotel of this quality. The pool was great to cool off in the hot August Tuscan sun. Location was great and literally 20mins from beautiful Florence and under an hour to Siena. Finally, the evening meals on the terrace were simply out of this world, a new menu every day and traditional home made food with the most amazing view, it doesn't get any better. Will certainly hope to return one day and have recommended to friends and family.

Nothing - it was all fantastic

This accommodation is a beautiful home with luxurious, unique rooms. There are expansive grounds, well appointed rooms, welcoming common areas to sit. The rain shower is lovely and the coffee maker and tea kettle in the room was a bonus. Staff is very kind and helpful for any recommendations for local attractions (winery visits) or to assist with dinner reservations. Breakfast has something for everyone!
