On arriving, a very handsome property, easy to park in either car park. On entering the building, cosy and welcoming with heritage colours abounding, we met the staff, a lovely group - quietly confident and motivated, clearly working as a well co-ordinated team. From kitchen and waiting/bar staff to front of house and housekeeping … wow! It’s the details which impress the most, such as being shown to the room as well as a walk through of everything in the room during check-in. Help with bags offered not ‘as a service’ but out of good manners and kind consideration. Liked extras in the room such as the pillow spray and toiletries. Cleanliness was outstanding. Great surprise finding out this is not a one off - there are multiple properties in the group. Definitely going to come back to The Swan Inn.

The service we received from the staff, especially the manager Luke, was so welcoming, we felt very well looked after from the moment we walked through the door along with our pooch who was also accommodated for. The location was perfect for some strolls with the dog and the food at the Inn was really tasty. Plenty of Vegetarian/Vegan options and my dietary needs were cared for.

The room was lovely, so spacious and clean. The one downfall is that with the sun glaring on the room all day it got extremely hot and there is only one tiny window to let some cool air in. The fan was a nice to have but didn't cool the room down.

Very clean and well maintained property. Staff were very friendly and always willing to help out. The room was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was extensive and lots of choice that you could order to your table. There were a couple of walks that started just outside the pub that were very pleasant. We also had dinner at the pub that was nice with large helpings. We didn't have Sunday roast but it looked like it was freshly prepared with lots of choice.

Nothing really, just be wary that the pub is basically in the middle of nowhere and is accessible by a single track road. However this would not stop me from coming here again.

The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and genuinely seemed invested in ensuring we had a lovely stay. We had a lovely pub meal sat outside in the sun drinking local cider and then sat on the veranda outside our room watching the sunset and finishing our drinks. Breakfast was lovely with excellent options (the avocado with poach eggs was excellent) and was even offered a coffee to take with us when we left. I also felt for the level of service and quality of the room it was incredibly good value.

Air con in the outside rooms would be good but not a deal breaker, a fan was provided and the room was perfectly comfortable overnight.

Rooms were lovely - tastefully decorated with very comfortable beds. Location was perfect, as we were arriving late from a flight into Bristol. Evening staff was very welcoming, and kitchen accommodated us for a late meal as we had arrived right at the time the kitchen was due to close down for the evening. Welcome drink was a nice touch.

Food for both our evening meal and breakfast was average. Drinks in the evening came after we were about half way through our meal. Eggs benedict at breakfast - eggs were barely warm and remainder of the components were cold.

I never give anything 10/10, but this was a brilliant stay, exceptional food and we were really looked after by the staff (name-check for Melissa, who worked the evening and morning shift, with a smile in equal measures… sorry we didn’t get names of everyone else!) From the time we checked-in, with a free welcome drink, to check-out wishing us well on our way after a superb breakfast, this is a top location and stay, thank you.

We spent a good ten minutes in the car afterwards asking what we could possibly say that wouldn’t give it 10/10. Faultless. And I’d argue we are well-seasoned travelers having stayed and eaten in a lot of places across the UK. This is such a great find.

Samir and his staff's welcome is unique among hundreds of hotels I have visited. The experience of an emerald veteran in hospitality has been applied to every detail in this boutique venue. It certainly deserves its five-star reviews! My room was immaculate with modern facilities and plenty of space. I particularly enjoyed the complimentary " true tea " provided among the other delicious sundries in the room, and serves as a distinction and notable effort in comparison to the norm. 10 out of 10, and my thanks to all the staff. Any guest would be hard pushed to find something to dislike here.

All the food was very good, not your normal pub grub. The wines were also excellent. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. The attention to detail in the room was wonderful, plenty of selves in the walk-in shower room, plug and usb charging on both sides of the bed, with excellent WiFi. Loads of private parking. Quiet location, with loads of nice walks.

Don't like little roads, with passing places. That's just me. Going to the West Country, I suppose this is unavoidable. I would still return there. It did make the location very quiet and tranquil.

The Swann inn has a great all round offering. The location is good for walking and visiting local area. It’s in a quiet village with extensive parking. The team is great. They went out of their way to give us a good experience. Very friendly. We stayed three nights and had two breakfast and two dinners. All the food was great with a good choice. The rom we stayed in was an extension to the main building and was well appointed, clean and spacious . Very comfortable bed. There were two minor maintenance issues that the team addressed quickly.

A wonderful old inn full of character and sensitively modernised to provide comfortable facilities. The inn lies along a country lane surrounded by fields and cottages. Only a short distance away and glorious walks in The Mendip Hills. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and well furnished. The bar and dining areas were cosy and what you’d expect and hope for in an old inn - wood fires, stripped wooden tables and candles. There is a delightful terrace for drinks especially in the evening sunshine. The menu is simple with a couple of twists. The service is excellent. Everything from the reception to bar and table service. Everyone was well turned out, friendly and efficient. I stay in many pubs and hotels and this is amongst the best I have visited in forty years.

I would have preferred table service for drinks but the I never had to wait long at the bar.
