Our room had a beautiful, large balcony overlooking the more quiet part of the beach and the sea. Beautiful and relaxing, I enjoyed reading on the balcony without being disturbed by anything. Kids loved the pool with the fountains, we enjoyed being able to sit at the beach and still see them in the pool, and being able to get some lunch and drinks from the poolside bar. Very convenient and tasty restaurant (Gus' Grill) on site, we were too tired the day we checked in, so we decided to have dinner there and were very happy with it. Also breakfast at Gus' was very tasty. Very convenient location to visit John Pennekamp State Park, but also the Everglades. Lots of convenient parking.

The staff at reception was quite "mechanic" and not really friendly. Bottled water was only available at reception, while in other Opal Collection resorts we stayed, it was possible to self-serve at any time from water and ice dedicated areas. It would be a little but nice improvement.

The beach is great and the grounds are very well taken care of. They let us stay till 4Pm after check out.

It's quite pricey for the no view room we had

The resort was absolutely a beautiful.. So much to do on property and close to other amenities as well. The pool was large and very clean and the resort itself was not crowded at all.. At times we felt like we were the only ones there.. I love the pool being so close to the beach so my son could play at the beach while we were in the pool and I never had to worry about him.. The restaurant on property is absolutely amazing I highly recommend Gus's Grill.. My husband and I had a couple's massage at the ball and it was heaven.. The bar at the pool area was also Great. The property itself is so pretty the sunset views are breathtaking. We had a 2 bedroom suite and it was large and clean and stocked with everything we needed. The staff would check in on us a few times a day to make sure we Didn't need anything overall I would highly recommend this resort we will definitely be back it was such a pleasant surprise to see how beautiful it was.. We did not want to leave

I cannot think of one thing that we did not like about this resort everything was perfect we have stayed at a lot of resorts and this was by far 1 of the top 5..

This place has a great "Keys" ambience. We were only here for one night since we were just checking it out as a future option, but we did eat at the restaurant (Gus’ Grille - The food was quite good!) and have a drink at the Tiki Bar later (Breezer’s). AND we did get to use the pool, which was very nice. We would definitely consider another longer stay here when circumstances permit. While we didn't avail ourselves of these options, it looks like there are plenty of water sports activities at guests' fingertips. There is also a nice sandy beach area. Also, I could envision this being a beautiful venue for a wedding. The pics (that aren't of the giant conch shell out front) are the views from our room. There ARE rooms with a full view of the harbor and the pool (probably more expensive lol...).

The ONLY thing that was a little off-putting was the fact that the staff was a little less attentive to our status and spent quite a bit of time being distracted with other things (some obviously reasonable things and some less so). We MIGHT have had one more drink at both the restaurant & the bar, but decided this was a sign from above that we didn't need another drink lol... Don't get me wrong - everyone was friendly and they DID check in, but I suspect they each had a list of things to do besides serve customers. It's all in the timing I guess.

AC in elevators; nice pool and features, views of Gulf of America; clean rooms and whole hotel, friendly staff, nice-size rooms, groomed and well-kept grounds.

The scent of the floor cleaning in the rooms; the scent of the shampoos & soaps; the wine list - needs more than Chardonnay whites; and both red and white should add outside California and USA. Seafood can be paired with many other white wines than Cali Char! Having lived and worked in Europe, I noticed how well trained the hotel staff is for serving food and drink. While staff were very friendly and worked hard, I noticed they likely have not received training on „how“ to serve a plate or drink. They often served from the wrong side and often did not place the plates or drinks in the right location…only part way on the mat or not facing in the right direction. Opening wine was also a challenge. Might sound picky, but some extra training will really raise the level of service.

I have to say was PLEASANTLY surprised with my stay here. Before I even got to the resort I was welcomed via text by staff and then again upon check in. Every single interaction I had with a staff member was warm, welcoming and pleasant. My room was upgraded, which was a blessing. The property was very very pretty. They provide a plethora of activities that you don’t need to seek outside help to fill your day with things to do. All you have to do is ask. Breakfast was delicious and the service was impeccable. Parking is free. Bartenders were AMAZING. The drinks were great. The wings at the bar were awesome. The only “bad” thing I have to say is that the floor of the room was a bit dusty/dirty but I brought house shoes so it wasn’t the end of the world. Other than that, everything else was CLEAN. All and all, I would 100% stay here again and will be returning. I had an amazing time.

I loved the diversity between hanging poolside getting drinks from the bar, to the palapas on the resort beach, to the isolated quiet chairs and palapas along the rocks bayside. We enjoyed every inch of this property and had fun exploring every comfy niche to appreciate the views and peaceful setting. The hotel was extremely caring and thoughtful from a welcome prosecco to chocolates upon your pillows. The staff was amazing, and even handed out free frozen popsicles to kids poolside. Not only did we love our stay, but feel we found a new tradition to return to every year from miami.

I wish their firepits were lit at night time. I wouldve enjoyed sitting by them.

The staff was really friendly except the short hair lady at the bar. The manager of the jet ski rentals was great.

The rooms werea bit run down as far as the cabinets and the floors. They definitely need to update. The toaster didn't work, the coffee maker didn't work, and the dishwasher wouldn't drain water. A very nice gentleman did come to fix the appliance issues. The pool had what appeared to be mold under the lip of the deck. You'd have to be in the pool to see it.

Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The layout was excellent, from a shower and toilet separated from the vanity by a door, to the room itself with a full-size couch, dinette/desk table for two, attractive area rugs, and other well-designed furniture, to the large balcony with a glass outer wall, two chairs (one a rocker) and a small cocktail table for enjoying the view, especially sunsets over the water. The property is a medium-sized resort with all the large resort amenities: pool, beach, water sports, spa, evening flame-lit fire pits and torches, etc. There were hundreds of lounge chairs, and extensive shade provided by umbrellas and tiki huts. The restaurants were superb- food, decor and views. The menu choices and presentation and taste of the food were outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our three-night, four-day mini-vacation.

We went here for our 34th wedding anniversary. You never have to leave the resort unless you want too. Its a small beach but all beaches are small on the keys. Large property with plenty to do. Water sports activities right on location. Lunch at the pool with a pina colada is what relaxing is all about.

Its not cheap. Only issue with staff was a rude older woman at the Grill restaurant Thursday morning. She was the hostess and told us not to expect fast service as soon as she saw us. When we waited for a while after we ate to leave my wife simply asked her, "are we good to go? Did you get our room number?" She yelled out loud, "where do you think you can go and not pay?" Then yelled to the waiter that we were going to leave without paying. Does not ruin the trip but not all should be in the hospitality business.
