Overall, the hotel is excellent. It is clean, well maintained and the staff could not be more pleasant or helpful. Great evening meals and atmosphere. Really enjoyable.
Because of late booking we had a room at the back of the hotel with a view of the back yard and wall. This resulted in being woken very early by the sound of bins emptied and gulls crying out. I suppose if we had a room towards the front of the hotel, we wouldn’t have had these problems, so it’s worth mentioning at the time of booking. The only fault with the actual room was that the bed is set within a heavy wooden frame, and my wife walked into this, gashing her leg. Otherwise a clean and modern room. Four stars for service is a reflection of the breakfast, certainly not lunch or dinner which easily warrant five stars. (The food at breakfast could be a bit overdone also) But in brief, a very good hotel. We would certainly book again.

Our room was excellent . We were upgraded to a sea view room (thank you so much !!!) . The room was large and extremely stylish . Little things matter like top quality tea and biscuits and good toiletries . Beautiful , huge wet room with another sea view . The communal lounge was classy and comfortable . Breakfast was delicious .
The hotel bar is in the restaurant which is slightly off putting when you just want a drink in the lounge as you have to weave your way through dining tables to get to it . The Manx cheeseboard and crackers (eaten in the lounge with a glorious sea view) was a retro step too far … 6 cream crackers and uninspired cheddar based cheeses , chopped up grapes ,tiny slices of celery and a very sticky chutney for £12 … not a great advert for local cheese unfortunately . Inedible olives served , possibly should’ve been saved for cooking . (Disappointing supper didn’t spoil the trip .)

The room was amazing! We had our own living room area with a tv, couch, table and fans. The bathroom was stunning with 2 sinks and heated mirrors and a huge shower. And 3 windows throughout the room which made it light and airy. We paid an extra £4 every morning for room service to our room which was amazing!
We slept pretty rubbish the first night as the bedroom window couldn’t close and there were teenagers outside messing with the recycling smashing glass bottles. But after we spoke to the staff the morning after they fixed it for us and was all sorted so no complaints at all.

The room was clean and a good size. Staff were most helpful, lovely and professional. Good variety of food for breakfast.
Unfortunately WIFI was not acceptable, I travelled for work and the wifi kept disconnecting and it was nearly impossible to have remote meeting in my room. This was disappointing as the website stated "high speed internet" throughout hotel which clearly was not the case. The room was a little warm so I was required to speak with the window open and it was very loud, seagulls, troadworks and trucks early in the morning.

Variety for breakfasts, also the fact when you ordered it was then cooked fresh - so much better than food left for everybody to help themselves. Less chance of germs. Yoghurts on ice was a great idea. Presentation also excellent. Staff from receptionist to cleaners were so very helpful. Room very cosy as well . Pity we didnt get a one at the front for the view. maybe next time.
Uneven levels so had to use stairs part way. Chipped tiles on bathroom floor and a bit uneven .

The hotel was in a brilliant location for access to the city & close to public transport. Staff were all very friendly & effective in delivering high standard of service. The room was presented to a high standard. It had a lovely, comfy bed and excellent walk-in shower. They .mentioned some refurbishment was underway, but I didn't see any workmen. Obviously, they accessed from a staff entrance !
Personally prefer to make my own coffee from a self serve machine at breakfast rather than get a pot of coffee. It's just quicker and more efficient when in a rush to get out of the door.

Great hotel and restaurant on the promenade and near to bus station and shopping centre. Staff were very friendly and the grade of room was comfortable and functional. (315). Our shower was a corner style and me being on the large side, it was incredibly tight. I wish I had taken up the offer prior arriving of upgrading to a sea view room, more money but I think it would be worth it. Early morning alarms were provided by the sea gulls, but what do you expect being right on the seafront .

This was our second time staying at Claremont. Staff are exceptional, they catered to our every need both stays. Helped us through a very difficult time on our first stay and this stay also. Our rooms were cleaned every morning and fresh towels left. Weather update for the following morning and chocolates on the pillow.
Air conditioning seemed to be on fully every evening which left the lobby very cold so we asked for this to be turned off every night and staff were more than happy to help so wasn't that much of a problem

The location only had to walk 5 minutes to shop and bus service to other parts of the isle of man
I was disappointed that I couldn't use the safe in my room due to where it was. I only 5ft and would have to climb on a chair to use this, and at 67, that was out of the question plus the couldn't use the fridge due to it being too lower and a heavy table in the way the only way would be on my knees and crawl under the table

Great location and parking very close which helped (disc during the day and free overnight). Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was a good size, bed/pillow comfort was OK but not brilliant. Bathroom had an excellent shower and was large but could have had somewhere to put toiletries instead of empty space. Breakfast was excellent, great freshly cooked items.
Pillows / bed a bit soft.
