Room is not big but cosy and clean. Lobby interior is a fusion of old furniture and modern paintings. Breakfast is not varied but tasteful. Waitress had a struggle with waffle cooking, but I liked the result.

Location is so-so. Not far away from the city center (25 min walk), but the area is quite dirty. My wife would feel uncomfortable walking there alone in the evening. It's 5 minute walk away from the nearest bus stop and 15 minute away from the nearest subway station.

A short distance to the City center and to the Gare du Midi railway station for traveling (Brugge,Gent). Fresh and tasteful breakfasts (especially excellent smoothies!!) . Room cleanup every day. Good soundproof isolation from other rooms (not so good from the hallway). Good blackout curtains (although additional transparent ones for the daylight would be a good option to add).

Some noise from the reconstruction of the build building across the courtyard (and workers moving on the scaffolding with direct view into the hotel rooms). A bit "wilder/dirty" neighborhood. Someone can feel insecure with so many people loitering the streets (especially after the dark).

The room was nice and clean, the view was nice and the bed was good.

I expected from my booking that breakfast would be included. When I arrived staff told me it wasn’t included. The room seemed to be recently redecorated. The fire detector was still covered up with tape from the paint job. Besides this there were no bedside lamps and the room lighting could only be operated from the door which was at least 4 meters from the bed. Both inconveniences can be easily fixed. I hope you’ll look into it. My room number was 100. Due to the layout of the room there was no room fore a chair. For a one night stay that’s fine. For staying longer that is inconvenient

I loved the breakfast! It was simple but delicious, fresh and healthy. Everyday there was a fresh smoothie of different kind. I also liked the organic jams and Belgian waffles! I definitely recommend it saves a lot of hassle. The staff was very attentive and helpful, definitely the biggest advantage! I felt welcomed and it made my stay there a lot better :) The room is quite basic but very functional with a very good shower so it was a nice surprise! The hotel is very close to the city centre so it's a big plus too. The walk there was alright and pleasant :)

- soundproofing. I could hear people walking above me. However, in comparison to hotels in the UK at least I didn't hear anyone so the soundproofing is not too bad. - a walk to Clemenceau station. It seemed a bit doggy at times but if you're going mostly to the city centre it's not a problem. - lack of a fridge and a kettle - toiletries. I tend to have dry hands so the soap wasn't gentle on them.

We satisfied with the service of the hotel. I asked them to arranged some roses in the room of our daugther as a surprised for her birthday and the did that😍🌹. There is a young man who was at the reception (sorry I forgot the name) he was so friendly and helped us with his big smile😍. Also the breakfast was good for a small hotel. The hotel is not so far from the Manneken pies and all of good restaurants . It is a walk distance for about 15mnts.

We understood that the hotel is in the middel of the busy road in that area. We just feel pity that too many young people standing around in front of parking area, which makes a bit getto area for such a nice safe hotel.

We had a great stay at Hotel Van Belle. The room was spotless and clearly well-maintained. It was modern, comfortable and quiet, making it easy to relax after a day out exploring the city. We didn’t have breakfast during our stay, so I can’t comment on the food, but the overall atmosphere of the hotel’s common areas was warm and welcoming. The staff truly stood out, friendly, professional and always willing to help. They are definitely an asset to the hotel and contributed to making our stay smooth and enjoyable. In terms of location, the hotel is well-situated. It’s about a 15-minute walk to both the city centre and the Bruxelles Midi train station, which made it easy for us to get around. I would happily stay here again and recommend Hotel Van Belle to anyone visiting Brussels.

The only minor drawback was the immediate area around the hotel, which didn’t feel like the most welcoming or vibrant part of Brussels. At first glance, it looked a little run-down. However, this didn’t put us off in any way. We never felt unsafe, and the walk to both the city centre and the Bruxelles Midi train station was straightforward and manageable. Once inside the hotel, everything felt calm, clean and secure, and the quality of the hotel itself far outweighed our initial impression of the surrounding area.

The hotel was very clean, beds were extremely comfortable and we slept very well. The rooms were cleaned with fresh towels daily. There was no noise from other residents or the surrounding area. Location is not as close to city centre as stated but an easy walk, out of hotel, turn left and walk in a straight line for 15 mins. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Van Helen.

We were told the bar would close at midnight, and we arrived back to hotel 10:45 to be told the bar was closed. The receptionist was not very helpful when assistance was sought to the railway (Midi Station) it was as if it was too much hassle for her to help. Could do with a kettle and cups to make a hot drink.

Hotel is so good. Facilities are so complete

Location, neighborhood look so dirty and dangerous so sad, because the hotel is marvelous

The hotel itself was very nice. Friendly staff, secure parking in a private garage, clean and comfortable room.

The neighbourhood isn’t ideal for visitors which is such a shame as there’s nothing wrong with the hotel itself and it is a short walk away from the centre of Brussels. There are loud people on the streets all throughout the night so you have to choose between noise or heat during the summer. Walking around the neighbourhood doesn’t feel very safe, especially as a woman. Driving to and from the hotel was also a bit of a nightmare due to the chaotic neighbourhood.

A modern and stylish hotel that exceeded expectations. The rooms were exceptionally clean, simply decorated and quiet, with a very comfortable bed and high-quality pillows that made for a restful night's sleep. The lobby area was inviting and well-designed — a great place to relax or wait for a ride. The hotel is conveniently located, about a 13-minute walk to Brussels Midi station, making it easily accessible for train travel. It is also 15-minute leisurely stroll to the city's iconic Grand Place, allowing guests to enjoy the local atmosphere along the way. Initially, I felt slightly uncertain about the location. While it is very close to the city centre, the surrounding area is predominantly home to Middle Eastern and African communities. As European visitors, we were among the few in the area, but at no point did we feel unsafe — even after dark. In fact, we discovered a fantastic Syrian eatery on the main street, shopped at well stocked supermarket, sampled treats from a local sweet shop, and genuinely enjoyed the vibrant cultural mix of the neighborhood. The only aspect that could benefit from some attention was the general cleanliness of the streets of the neighborhood, as there was a noticeable amount of litter around.
