Impodimo Game Lodge was perfect! We did the all-inclusive option. Everything was streamlined. The cottage was beautiful and had all the amenities. Cottage 4 was right next to a path where elephants walked frequently! All of the staff were lovely. On the game drives we were made as comfortable as possible with blankets and water. Impodimo has both a ranger and a tracker per vehicle, which provided a unique experience. Each game drive also had a stop for a beverage and a little snack.

I would recommend requiring less meals with the rangers. There was plenty of time during the game drive break to ask questions to the ranger or tracker.

Do not hesitate – book this property right away! It was by far the most exceptional travel we have ever done (and we travel quite a bit). The lodge is absolutely gorgeous and I’d like to highlight that the pictures DO NOT do justice to the actual look of the place. The safari rides are exceptional and Madikwe is truly a beautiful reserve. From game drives, to brunch, high tea, dinner, massage, library with tons of books, chessboards available for random games, swimming pools, lounges around the lodge… you will never be bored and will be left with tons of memories. Finally to conclude - we would like to particularly highlight the STAFF, possibly the best experience we ever had. Our ranger Ryan has shown exceptional professionalism & impeccable service in everything he was doing. We were touched by his passion for his job and animals, and truly felt like we were going on drives with a living encyclopedia, amazing! We always felt safe during the rides and overall very well taken care of – from the first moment we got to know him, to the “good-mood wake up calls at 4:30am”, until the very last transfer to our airplane back to Johannesburg where he “winged at us” while we were taking off. Linda has been wonderful in welcoming us to the property, teaching us about baboons and elephants around the lodge and joking around with us. Spa, the executive chef, delivered the most amazing dishes, showed us the wine cave and was really looking after every experience with great attention and amiability. The overall staff taking care of the kitchen and rooms were wonderful with a true 5 stars attention to detail and care, with a welcome drink at any point in time. You know what we mean when one week after the trip, we are STILL talking about the Impodimo lodge and its wonderful team. Thank you!

Absolutely nothing. Leaving probably was the worst part :-).

Everything was absolutely first class. The accommodation was stunning, staff so attentive and helpful and the food delicious. The ranger and tracker were incredibly knowledgeable and keen to share their experiences. The attention to detail when laying dining tables was spot on and the care taken didn’t go unnoticed. Varying the location every evening was a nice touch and demonstrated the thought that went into meeting all our needs. Thanks to the chefs who were extremely talented. The afternoon snacks and the breakfasts were varied and extremely tasty. I would like to mention everyone by name by way of thanks but special mention to Dezchelle, Linri, Marie, Sam and Lots for their kindness. I should just mention the abundance of wildlife too. The leopard spot was a highlight for us. Thank you Impodimo, you are fabulous!

Fantastic service. The most beautiful lodge and location. We spent 4 nights here and it was so wonderful, an experience we will never forget. Hope to be back soon! They have a lookout room which is built into the ground next to the water whole.. you can watch the animals from metres away, it was mind blowing:)

Nothing, everything was wonderful. If you would like to have meals privately, you should request this as otherwise they will seat you at a table together with other guests.. some people like this but we chose to have meals privately :)

We liked everything, it is hard to know where to start! I already miss the place and feel like I might need to return very soon! Firstly Reuben (the Ranger) and Sam (the tracker) were the DREAM TEAM. They were both professional, personable, polite, knowledgeable and would always go the extra mile to give guests an amazing experience. The game drives were twice a day for 3-4 hours each (morning and evening) and we saw a plethora of animals. Every game drive was different and it was great not knowing what spectacular sight we would see each time we went out. We had 14 game drives! We watched the animal engaging in various different behaviours and had opportunities to learn about all of the animals. The coffee in the morning and the sundowners in the evening were brilliant - a range of snacks were offered in a tiffin box with a great variety of drinks also being offered. The service at the lodge was impeccable, all staff incredibly friendly and efficient. The food was out of this world, plenty of choices and very well presented. They cater to various diets with aplomb. The massages that I had with Kitty were glorious, just the right pressure, she was very friendly and warm. She let me know when the elephants were passing the Sala where the massages took place - really quite unforgettable. The rooms were exceptionally clean and equipped with everything you might need for your stay; full mini bar, snacks and tea and coffee. The room had an amazing bathroom with both bath and shower. We stayed in Lodge Number 1 and we had an amazing view of the waterhole where we saw the full range of animals which was awesome. The elephant hide was fantastic, equipped with all the refreshments that you would want and we got within 3 feet of an elephant drinking at the waterhole. All in all, an unforgettable experience! Don't think about it, just book it!

The whole set up is brilliant, the rooms and main lodge, the staff, their service, the guide and tracker on the game drives, are just amazing, I couldn't fault anything and would go back without hesitation, my wife and I absolutely loved the whole experience.

Fantastic view, very quiet and perfect to see animals all day long from the terrasse. The game drive were very informative and fun around different parts of the national park. Meals were very good and varied food and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel comfortable and spend a great time at the lodge. The pool is also very nice to chill after a game drive and to spot some more elephants!

Everything about our experience was brilliant. The staff was outstanding and so helpful as my husband has walking issues. Every enquiry before we arrived was answered promptly. Blythe in the office and Lyne (I think that was her name) were so charming and made us feel so welcome and always there to assist. We loved the location and our room with its wonderful raised terrace. It was magical. The food and the presentation was excellent. I am vegetarian and there were always good and tasty choices at each meal. Our driver, Ruben and our tracker were brilliant and professional and we saw everything it was possible to see and more! They were always patience and answered all our questions, however stupid! Our room had basin taps that would not turn, but I understand that a refurbishment is due. That is the only reason I dropped my evaluation. No other.

Breakfast very good and as are general facilities. Many animals go though the Lodge and some a little close for comfort. under ground hide is fabuluse. Saw many animals on the game drives.

We have been to many Safari lodges in South Africa, however, Impodimo has been hands down the best Safari lodge we have experienced. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and organised. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we had the best possible stay with them. The service was amazing. Our guide Ruben and tracker Sam were incredible and made our viewings of the big five (and much more!) a memorable experience. They were both incredibly informative and happily answered our many questions. There were many small touches which made our stay at Impodimo very special. Our lodge was gorgeous. It was incredibly clean and had all we needed. Last but no way least, the food was faultless. Impodimo put on a spectacular breakfast, high tea, and three course dinner. Even the snacks on the game drive were top tier. We can’t wait to visit again!
