The food served at The Fleece is exceptionally good. We had breakfast & evening meal and everything from choice to taste was superb. The variety of the specials was excellent as was the main menu and everything we ordered was delicious. Nothing seemed too much trouble, the staff were all attentive and friendly and the service throughout our stay was next level. We will be back again, no question!

NOTHING BAD TO SAY! The room was small but perfectly appointed. This isnt even a negative really as it did everything we needed and was well decorated and clean. Finishing touches were a lovely extra treat too and the girl that welcomed us was so bubbly and friendly - was a very welcome welcome!

Some of the breakfast options portion sizes were quite small, although tasty. Mattress was too soft for us although I know that’s a personal preference. Property is a little rough around the edges with scuff marks, peeling paint on wooden window frame in the bathroom to our room, one of the sockets by the bed wasn’t working so couldn’t charge my phone there but could elsewhere in the room. I appreciate it’s an old building and probably listed but could do with a bit more TLC. However the positives definitely offset the slight negatives and we would stay there again :-)

Well appointed room and bathroom with lots of little extras on welcome tray. Public areas very tasteful and two lovely outside areas. Ambience fantastic. Setting within town beautiful. Very peaceful All staff extremely helpful and friendly. Without knowing at one point we were sat next to the manager discussing the "tent" experience on rear patio. Without being intrusive he explained who he was and was able to answer the queries we had about the "tent" - we then continued to have a very relaxed friendly chat about many other things. We had a meal in the evening which was delicious. Breakfast included in price with good variety of options. We think the cost of the stay was very reasonable. Overall lovely stay and would definitely return if in the area.

Although I have one or two manageable health considerations, I always feel safe and confident to travel and stay at The Fleece. The highly professional staff seem naturally gifted to make me feel supported and understood. They all take time to answer my questions, modify my menu choice, carry my bag up and down the stairs for me and guide me to my room. Comfort at The Fleece is excellent on every level. It is like staying with family. I have traveled and stayed at many hotels, yet truly, none compair to my exemplary experience at The Fleece.

The roomy accomodation was very cosy, warm and comfortable. Large bathroom/walk in shower with plenty of hot water. Good lighting options and plenty of mirrors, full length & smaller.. Large comfortable bed with the addition of a sofa & good size TV. Good selection of tea/coffee etc.

The addition of a mini fridge would have been fantastic, but not essential.

The food and the service were very nice. Your Guinness was a welcome relief as in the US it doesn’t quite taste the same…. The hotel and food service people were 100% nice!

Our room window carried sound and smoke from the patio garden. It would be helpful for the owners to install hand bars for easier access in and out of tub/shower! Perhaps a permanent glass fixture (screen) for tub/shower

Our room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The location was perfect, close to everything we needed.. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay again. Highly recommended!

it would be great if the hotel could consider closing the backyard outdoor space a bit earlier in the evening. While it’s a lovely area, late-night socializing out there made it a bit hard to sleep .

A very nice hotel close to the center of the town, but next to the village green. Clean and comfortable room. Excellent restaurant. Good breakfast with many choices. Friendly staff. Especially our server in the restaurant. I think her name was Jess from New Zealand. A lovely young lady, who engaged in whitty and intelligent conversation, while providing excellent service.

The staff were so welcoming, charming and helpful. They work so hard and always had a smile and a chat to make us feel special. Our room was large with an en suite shower room. Breakfast offered a great selection and set us up beautifully for the day. This pub was a great find and I'd certainly stay again if we are in the area

Absolutely nothing

Hotel located on the village green and bathed in evening sunshine. Very friendly and efficient staff. Evening meal and breakfast of a high quality and good quantities. Room was a good size and bed very comfortable. Hotel in an ideal location for days in Oxford or The Cotswolds.

To be fair there is very little to improve upon to meet what we needed for our weekend stay.
