The team on reception were very good, as were the bar staff. Very helpful and professional. The hotel was spotless, our room was perfectly good, bar/ restaurant and fitness room all very clean and tidy.

I was a bit disappointed in the bar - there are three lagers on tap plus Guinness. For the 4 nights I was there only one lager was available, so that wasn't great. I asked for Hawkstone as they had that advertised as well, and that had also been out of stock. On the red wines, again, two of the four or five listed were unavailable. On one day I ordered a Diet Coke which was flat, so I queried that and was told all the fizzy drinks were flat due to a problem with the gas. Maybe there had been a supply problem? This was the only 'negative' but it was a bit frustrating that so much was unavailable.

Breakfast was great- choices good. Different types of yogurt would have great. Bar and restaurantstaff were absolutely amazing. All of them! Special mention to Eric the supervisor, Josh and Oliver. Profesional, polite, very courteous and friendly. We were treated amazingly bythem- nothingwastoo much trouble. You made our stay happy.

Checking in took too long and we waited a longtime too. I mentoned that we had a family wedding nearby -our daughter’s wedding and she said “If you come back and had too many we will have to close the bar!” That was very inappropiate. Some staff were quite good but Staff at check in need to be - they need to watch the restaurant staff .

The amenities of the hotel, and the staff were excellent, without being obtrusive, or over-pressing. Everything worked fine in the room and the sound proofing is good. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet and my one evening meal.

I am 82, and was travelling by rail from East Anglia to make a visit to the Didcot Railway Centre at the Parkway, so the only downside of the hotel for me was journeying to and from the Station to the Hotel and back to the Railway Centre. Fortunately my son was able to pick me up by car for the journeys I needed to do. Otherwise I have no other negative comment.

The hotel was kept to a high standard, and the bar area was nice and had a good selection of drinks and food. A good addition was the pool table and an outside area. The room was of a good size, and the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well.

The outdoor seating did not have any cushions or seat pads, and the outdoor sofa's you could not use as none of them had anything on them. The breakfast was really poor, unfortunately, and not what I would expect. The coffee tasted salty no matter what option you chose. The selection of breakfast was not good, and the sausages were of poor quality and greasy. Bacon was like cardboard, the scrambled egg was dry, and there was not enough selection. I could make recommendations, but you need to get the basics right first!!

I loved the location & the view from my room. The guys at the reception were very helpful & nice. David at the reception was able to accommodate me for 2 more days. Very nice & a kind person to deal with. The other guy was excellent too.

I had to extend 2 more days. When I asked yhe morning lady at the reception for extending my stay for 2 more days she didn't bother to check availability but told me to find accommodation somewhere else. She said the entire hotel is full & there is not a single room I can stay in. Ofcourse unbelievable.I was dissapointed & her customer service skills are very poor.

Location was great. Room a good size, and bathroom also spacious. Breakfast was good and the staff working were very helpful and friendly. Great that parking was included. Front desk staff also very knowledgable and courteous. All in all a great experience.

The cleaning in my bathroom could have been a little more pristine but it was fine. Providing hand and body lotion would have been great (in the room). TV controller / TV temperamental or it may have been the user error but I did report it and it was going to be looked at for future guests.

Room very spacious and clean, bed very comfortable and aircon easy to navigate. Plenty of hot water for the shower. Easy use lifts and restaurant on site. We had a 4 month old and the staff made our room available earlier than scheduled to accommodate us.

Although the food we had in the restaurant in the evening was delicious, I had the sea bass and my husband had the chicken burger (as the spatchcock cock wasn’t available) the food took 40 minutes to arrive at our table.

Hotel is lovely, staff extremely friendly and helpful especially Beck on reception who upgraded us (but not mentioning because of that she made you feel very welcome on arrival!) Eric the bartender was amazing nothing was too much bother, we were looking for a nice Chinese Restaurant and asked if he could recommend one, he gave us a choice of two nearby, we went with The New Dancing Dragon in Abingdon, it was so good, lovely food, and ambiance, and would highly recommend it. To be honest all the staff at The Courtyard are great, Marriott should be very proud of the great team they have there! Also loved the free tea/coffee which is a nice touch.

Location was convenient for our visit to the Abingdon area. The breakfast and evening meal were delicious and the staff very welcoming and helpful.

We were located beside the function room where a wedding reception was taking place and the music was very loud, although it did quieten/stop by 11.30pm. Perhaps the wedding guests could have been located in the rooms around the function rooms and other guests further away but it didn’t spoil our visit.

A little confusion about room allocation. Was given keycard for 510 but it didn't work. Happily, housekeeper let me into the room So I could leave luggage as I had an appointment in 30 minutes Back at Reception they said, "oh yes, we've moved you to 514...! Said I would have to move my things later as I had put stuff in fridge. Later changed rooms only to discover there was no fridge in 514. Reception did provide one but it had to sit on the floor rather than hidden in cupboard. Also, the 'Welcome" on TV screen addressed me with an oriental name.
