Room was very comfortable - lots of pillows and replacement coffee pods and biscuits. I was there with my teenage sons and we happily returned each evening after dinner out to relax and watch daft TV programmes. Literally beside the Central Train Station and a Lidl across the road if you need anything and don't want to go far.

The hotel is located at the end of Jamaica Street which can be a 'little' nerve-racking to navigate in the evening. I arrived in Glasgow with a back injury so walking was painful and made it stressful to walk down that street in the evening - one evening a bunch of the drunk and/or homeless people had a fight that resulted in a crutch being smashed off of one and broke and the broken half flew up the road in our direction resulting in us having to cross to the other side. Another night a bunch of people were starting to fight on the other side of the street. My sons were told by Glasgow people they met on courses that the crossroads up from the hotel is known as 'the four corners' and is known for having problems. But...the hotel was very comfortable!

Lovely modern property, nice comfortable seating in reception and lovely bar area. Comfortable bedroom, powerful shower, great tea/coffee facilities in bedroom and fantastic choice for breakfast. Very central for easy access to bars, restaurants, shopping, places of interest.

The hotel uses swipe cards for secure entry to the bedrooms. This is great. However, the swipe cards are not needed to use the lifts to the 11 floors where the bedrooms are situated or to enter the front door of the hotel. This is surprising considering that this hotel has recently been totally renovated. In the interests of safety this hotel should implement the use of the room swipe cards to enter the front door of the hotel after a certain time in the evening, perhaps after 1030pm and also to use the lifts to the bedrooms. This would provide a much more secure environment and is in line with what numerous other hotel chains are implementing.

Central location

Was ensured through messaging via booking.com that early check in could be confirmed on morning of reservation. Called reception & was greeted by a member of the team who was pretty abrupt speaking over me when I tried to explain to her I was told I would be given a yes or no on am of reservation. She told me this was not the case & I had to go to reception desk where it might be available not guaranteed. When she then read over the messages I had previously had with other colleagues she told me early check in was not available. Luckily the gentleman on the check in desk when I arrived was very friendly & helpful.

I loved everything about this hotel, the location, the dinners I ordered and above all, its stuff. They have great attitudes and are responsive to requests. I missed the breakfasts. When I booked online in early May, I selected a room rate that included bed and breakfast because my employer's policy is to pay for bed and breakfast. However, I was surprised and could not do anything once the receipt came to my inbox indicating that breakfast was not included. My first intuition was that I had been tricked as someone not accustomed to the way book.com operates. Other than that, A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE LEONARDO HOTEL AND SUPER HELPFUL STAFF (reception, restaurant, cleaners and guards). I had a nice customer service experience and I would recommend this facility to colleagues.

See my comment above. May be it was the problem of booking.com

We stayed for around 4–5 nights, and overall, it was a good and comfortable experience. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to an executive room, which made our stay even better. The upgrade came with several great perks, including daily still and sparkling water, free coffee from the new coffee machine in the executive lounge, and discounts on drinks at the bar. We were also placed on the 11th floor, the highest in the hotel, which gave us an absolutely stunning view from our window. The staff were always great and very helpful, which really made us feel welcome throughout our stay.

While our experience was positive, there were a couple of downsides worth mentioning. Even though we requested daily cleaning, the bed sheets were not changed every day, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, we noticed some stains — and what appeared to possibly be mold — on a few of the bath towels, which we felt should be addressed for better hygiene. Despite these issues, we still had a comfortable and pleasant stay overall, and the excellent room upgrade, amenities, and wonderful staff really stood out.

The hotel is comfortable, clean with the most friendly and helpful staff. Beds and duvet excellent quality. I opted for the breakfast, which I have to say is the best hotel breakfast I have had. So much choice and the quality was excellent. I also had an evening meal here which was also good. The location is excellent and minutes away from central station so ideal if you’re travelling without a car. Close to shops, restaurants and bars all within walking distance. Couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Excellent value and will def book here again when I’m back in Glasgow.

The room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and a bright atmosphere. The shower was powerful and invigorating. Breakfast was excellent. It featured an omelette station where a friendly staff member (who resembled actor James McAvoy) engaged us in conversation and made the best omelette we've ever had. We also tried haggis for the first time and it tasted amazing. Throughout our visit, the staff consistently exuded warmth and friendliness. Their welcoming nature made us feel right at home.

There was a note on the door stating not to leave valuables in the bedroom and that they needed to be taken downstairs every day.

We stayed for 3 weeks altogether in a superior king room with a view of the river and really enjoyed this hotel. It is in a central location - 2 mins from Glasgow Central station, 2 mins from the Subway/underground rail, 2 mins from heaps of good shops, right by the river, and 5-10 mins walk from a variety of good restaurants. This is a very well run hotel. All the hotel staff - reception, bar, housekeeping, maintenance, security - were very friendly and helpful and any requests we made were fulfilled quickly. The room was well-equipped and in good condition. The bed was comfortable and as we like to sleep without heating on we needed 2 duvets in an exceedingly cold snap, which were readily provided. There is a nespresso machine for a decent cup of coffee and plenty of tea choices and little shortbreads and the staff are helpful and generous with all supplies (in our 3 week stay we wanted loads of decaf pods every day and they went out of their way to bring it especially). The shower was good and the bathroom was clean and kept that way. There is a bar downstairs where you can also get decent bar meals but not cheap and some choices were definitely better than others for quality and cooking skill. The breakfast buffet is excellent, though pretty pricey so not for every day of a long stay.

The duvets are none too big - about 5cm/2” hangover each side of the bed - and the covers are annoyingly too big for them so you have to do some finessing or you’ll end up with just empty cover on top of you. Having 2 duvets definitely helped.

Have stayed here a few times recently while en route to events or another destination. Travelled solo on these occasions and found that the hotel offered a friendly, safe and pleasant environment for these trips. Arrived early and asked the hotel to store my luggage while I went shopping. I was told my room was ready and having just come off an early morning flight was delighted with this news! Staff are always professional and helpful and the hotel, although busy, is quiet and calm . I was in a room overlooking the railway and the river and thought it would be noisy but it was not due to triple glazing. Air conditioning and heating excellent. It’s great to have a fridge in the room, especially in warm weather . Lidl just across the road and the hotel is in an excellent location for shopping, subway and restaurants.

As mentioned in other reviews the hotel is not in the nicest of streets but don’t let this put you off. There are taxis right outside the door day and night. The subway, shops, restaurants and other hotels are all located in this cluster so it feels safe.

Location is convenient for city centre and south side as it is sited on the river front next to one of the bridges. The interior is decorated to a high standard and comfortable. Check in and out can be done online and staff are polite and welcoming. There are two car parks next to the hotel and you can book and pay in advance.

The location whilst convenient is not in the nicest part of the city - the surrounding streets are run down and grubby. Breakfast had a good selection although the cooked breakfast selection was quite dry and a little tasteless unfortunately.
