Rooms were roomy, clean, quiet and comfortable. Also, great shower.

No breakfast or coffee bar, etc., but that's ok for the value and the size and comfort level of the room.

This place is amazing and better than expected. The owner is really nice and I was glad to stay here if even for one night. I will be back again when the opportunity arises. The front and bathroom door felt heavy and gave me a sense of what this place was really about, strange I know, but it was nice to find a place well built and not some typical prefab construction of a hotel. The different colored microwave and refrigerator was definitely a up tick. The notice on the vent not to touch it because it is hot for the heater is very real. LoL 😆 found out the hard way. Keep the kids away from it. It's really a nice place and quiet. Definitely 5 stars !!

There's really nothing bad to say it's a wonderful place to relax after a hard day at work.

The location of the property right on the US 101 N is the best part of the property. They are clean, picturesque from the old town motels we see in movies and extremely close to the Redwoods (Jedediah Smith Park) is less than 10 mins drive from here. Parking if right up your door front for the ground floor residents, whereas for the 2nd floor residents, there is ample parking behind the property right in front of the stairs to go up. Overall it was a value for money stay, comfortable and clean. I would rate this place highly and anyone planning to spend a day or two here would more than just like this place for accommodation.

There was nothing a such to be called negative.

I was here November 19th. Night of the cyclone. That matters because this hotel is very close to the water. The parking is assigned by number and everyone gets covering over their space. This was huge to me because the wind and rain were out of control! That overheard cover gave me a great sense of security for both myself and vehicle. No other hotel/motel I saw in the area had that. Felt like a miracle I was there at exactly the worst part of the storm. Loved it!

I like a large bathroom but it's not a deal breaker

Good location on right on US-101 at the south end of Crescent City. Cool, retro vibe. Room 30 had a king bed in one room and two queen beds in another room with a bathroom in the middle - perfect for a family of 5. Pretty spacious. Liked that the room had a dedicated parking space in front of the door. Within walking distance of the beach and a short drive to the redwoods

Not enough soap/shampoo/towels. Internet was wonky - I was better off using my cellular data.

This place is adorable. It literally felt like it was built in the Flinstone days and never progressed, which was so charming. Also, my husband and I were on a motorcycle trip from WA to the Redwoods, having covered parking was so dreamy! Last but certainly not least, they do a great job keeping this place clean and the staff were outstanding!

We got a little hot at nighttime and you do have to choose between cooling off with the windows open and hearing the traffic of the road. Not a giant deal breaker because Crescent City is not a hot place but it was a thing.

Loved the retro 1950s room with its redwood panelling, old fashioned phone and the dinky old American style fridge (although it was new). The room was spacious, nicely lit with an array of lamps and the bed comfy. The outside of the Lodge is attractive with its polished redwood doors and ample parking. A stones throw from the Marina and easy walk to the lighthouse. Lovely bar/restaurant a few doors away specialising in healthily and excellently cooked food.

2nd floor room was quiet. The room was good size; had a mini frig, microwave and coffee maker. The bathroom had an abundance of pink tile, including the shower stall; nostalgic for some. Motel, supposedly, was originally built from one redwood tree.

The stairway to the 2nd floor was steep and difficult with luggage; no elevator was available. Bed was an older coil spring that was only marginally comfortable.

We stayed overnight after hiking in the Redwoods. The property is a good location, has an interesting history and the woman staffing the reception desk was very friendly and informative! The downstairs rooms were updated and very comfortable!!

We had 3 rooms. The downstairs rooms are much better than the single, upstairs room. That said, it was still a comfortable room but outdated and a little dingy.

Such a unique place at an amazing price. If you come to see coastal redwoods, this is a bargain and fun place to stay overnight. ENTIRE motel made from burl of a single redwood tree that was struck by lightening and had to be logged. Whole place is a throwback to 1960s roadside motel, both decor inside and outside look. Surprisingly quiet considering my room was close to HWY 101 running right in front. HQ for state and federal Redwoods parks a short drive into downtown and great place to get info on northernmost redwoods.

All was good. Another throwback to 60s - Fisherman's Restaurant across highway convenient to walk to and food is good with large portions, but very pricey.
