The Venetian is in a perfect spot- it's right on the beach and many of the rooms have balconies with a view of the water. Kitchenettes with a coffee maker and some cups and supplies let us have a pre-breakfast coffee (nice for those cold mornings). We went in the off-season (November), and Capitola is a magical place to stay when the summer crowds are gone.

Due to a pipe failure they had to shut off water to most of the hotel, but we were offered another room. Also, there's no free parking, but it's only $15/day so not a big deal.

Great location steps from the beach! Protected parking if you can find it. Bathroom very well stocked with towels and soap. Beds had 4 pillows each.

Hard to find with Google map, had to call a few times too get directions to hotel, parking, and their front office. Parking is tight and not guaranteed in the price. Kitchen inside but NO DISHES, SILVERWARE, POTS, PANS. Their email didn't say that so i didn't bring anything. Couldn't use kitchen. Beds/pillows aren't comfy and the shower was small /short for me (I'm short and thin) i knocked my elbows against walls. My partner over 6ft had a laugh at trying to shower. Lamp in living room had electrical issues and wouldn't stay on.

I’ve always wanted to stay here at the cute colored hotel. Parking is available for additional cost and worth it being here on a weekend in the summer. Walking distance to all things, restaurants and shops. Spacious room and very clean. Early check in available for an additional cost. Beach steps from room door.

There is no view of the ocean or anything really. It is quite loud but I guess this is to be expected during a summer weekend night. People yelling and screaming walking past the rooms headed to bars and dinner.

Location was ideal for hanging out at the beach or esplanade. The room was spacious with functioning microwave and refridgerator, and coffee was provided. Most importantly, the room came with a parking space which was essential given the crowd that was visiting during my stay.

Very noisy, not only from outside activities but from the creaky floor from room above my own. Also, various plumbing or drain noises that constantly drowned out any prospect of hearing the waves even with the window open.

The location on the beach is the best part. You can walk to restaurants and shopping and hang out on the beach. The staff was very receptive and moved us to another room when the kitchen drain was leaking all over the floor. The view from the balcony was nice and we could hear the waves. Having a parking space inside the property was huge!

These rooms are 99 years old and show it. There is nothing in the kitchenette except a few coffee cups and a few water glasses so bring your own supplies. The buildings are very close together so you’ll hear your neighbors. A lot of tourists walk through all the time, so privacy is an issue at times. It’s expensive for an average room, you’re paying for the location.

Location was amazing! Check in and communication was positive.

Cutlery was not provided. For the price and for having a kitchen I didn’t appreciate the nickle and dime approach of charging extra for utensils and something to cook with. The expectation when there is a kitchen is there are also plates and forks.

Great location with walking access to the beach, shops, and restaurants. We parked in the lot and never used our car again for the entire long weekend!

The main office can be difficult to contact when calling about your reservation. They don’t answer the phone and don’t always return calls.

Convenient location: Close to the beach and the village. Beach and ocean view. Ocean waves are natural soothing white noise. Separate house from others. Staff very helpful.

Have no AC. Alarm clock went off at midnight. Bed can be more comfortable. Sometimes can hear neighbors making noises and cars driving by.

We have always wanted to stay at the Capitola Venetian. We are so happy we finally did it! It was so comfortable and ideal to be tight there on the beach and so close to great restaurants!

I was a little disappointed that this fantastic family site with all its great amenities such as a stove, refrigerator, toiletries and towels, didn't include plates, silverware, or pots and pans? It wasn't mentioned anywhere in the listing to bring your own utensils.

Loved how close we are to the beach and we walked to downtown. The rooms were bigger than expected. Liked the fact we had our own parking spots.

We did not have any utensils, pots or pans to cook. So make sure you bring your own. Bring your own beach gear.
