Quaint B&B up the hill from Capitola. We stayed in the Paris room which was very nice. Bed was VERY comfy. Wine and cheese at 4:00 and breakfast served in our room in the morning. Our day was pancakes, sausage, fruit and coffee/juice. Such a nice touch! Shower had 2 shower heads. Black out curtains. Capitola is adorable!

It is a short walk to the town but is on the hill. There are other vacation rentals along the way that are much closer to the beach or view of beach if that is your goal. Also, no hot tub.

I had an incredible stay at the Inn at Depot Hill. The location is perfect—just one block from the ocean and the heart of downtown Capitola, but tucked away enough to feel peaceful and quiet. The staff was outstanding: genuinely kind, friendly, and helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate my celiac needs, ensuring I had safe and delicious breakfasts each morning. Each room is uniquely designed and beautifully maintained, and the entire property is so well cared for. Every evening, there were wine, cheese, and fresh cookies available in the lobby, and breakfast was delivered straight to our room at the time of our choosing. Could not recommend this place more—an absolute gem in Capitola.

Nothing, it was perfect!

After reading some of the reviews, I was a little worried about the breakfast, hot water, happy hour food, and parking. But after staying there, I think those complaints are way off. We stayed there two nights, and breakfast both mornings was great. The menu is posted the night before, so people can choose to walk 2 minutes into town and buy breakfast if food like a tomato and cheese egg scramble and pancakes are unacceptable. Some people just like to complain. Our room was perfect - well maintained and very relaxing. The fireplace and 2-person shower (we didn't have any hot water issues!) made it extra special. The location can't be beat! We went to dinner at the Shadowbrook restaurant and called for one of their vintage taxis, so we never needed to move our car from the hotel parking lot. I highly recommend walking along the beach from New Brighton Beach to Rio Del Mar and getting a pizza from Venus Pie Trap. A weekend of great memories!

WiFi in our room was very weak, but should you really be on your phone or computer on vacation?

Historical B&B with each room having a different theme! We stayed in the Kyoto room which had its own private zen like patio and soaking tub. Wine, cheese, crackers and fruit served in the early evening and breakfast served to our room! Onsite self parking with your own dedicated space made it easy and care free. Perfect get away for our Anniversary!

Wonderful property and we enjoyed our stay tremendously but noticed the waterfall in the Kyoto patio needed to be repaired and the sliding shades were a little hard to open and close, plus one window shade was cracked and needed replacement.

Everything!! We absolutely LOVED our stay. In fact, we booked another room later in the week. It’s such a quaint and unique hotel. All the rooms are a different theme and are beautiful. Check in was super easy! They had wine, cheese and fresh baked cookies in the lobby at happy hour and fresh cooked breakfast that you could enjoy in your room, in the dining area or the patio. We stayed in the Railroad Baron room. It was beautiful and spacious with the deepest bathtub I’ve ever seen. The bed was super comfy. The location is absolutely perfect. Just a short walk to capitola village. The manager and all staff we interacted with were so warm and welcoming.

Not a thing that we didn’t like. 10/10.

This place is a true gem. The rooms are all themed and transport you to different places. This time, we stayed in Kyoto and felt like we had taken a mini trip to Japan. It’s perfectly located and within walking distance of downtown Capitola. The breakfasts are lovely, and the staff is attentive. I highly recommend this place!

The room and staff were amazing. Lisa took the time and walked me around the whole facility. Breakfast was wonderful. And having a dedicated parking place was a major plus! Being a solo female traveler, I felt 100% safe. I will definitely be returning.

The internet was down when I tried to check in, but came back up as I was checking in. Not their fault.

The breakfast was delicious and well served. Plenty of coffee, creamer and juice. The pancakes were excellent as well as the rest of the meal. Arrived warm, just the way I like it.

Water pressure in the shower, was definitely not up to par. Way too little water, even when both showers were turned on. They must address this.

Breafasts of Cinnamon french toast and Eggs Bennedict were superb. The staff was EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL. I did not realize the Inn was so historic - old train depot and one of the first structures in town. LOVELY VICTORIAN feel. I stayed in two different rooms and the larger, more modern and more expensive one held less charm for me but had ALL the touches of a chic modern hotel complete with flat screen fire piece under the TV, and a small patio. Did not love the drunk partiers in town for the Warf to Warf run litterally stumbling in late, but that is my bad for not realizing the run was that weekend. Peggy and Sager took EXCELLENT care of me and Sager's puppy brightented my day. The gronds have a small decorative pool, lovely vegetation and outdoor furniture and the living room has old world charm. It made it tough to choose to hang out in the Inn or go to the beach!

I prefer a softer bed but I know most people don't. It was a FINE, NORMAL mattress. I am just a softie.

The shower was either hot or cold, no matter how much adjustments were made but the bath you could get the right temperature which seems strange. And I don’t know if it was an option or not but wish we could have chose what we would liked for breakfast? We loved the first days breakfast but not so much the second day. But overall still enjoyed our time.
