After reading some of the reviews, I was a little worried about the breakfast, hot water, happy hour food, and parking. But after staying there, I think those complaints are way off. We stayed there two nights, and breakfast both mornings was great. The menu is posted the night before, so people can choose to walk 2 minutes into town and buy breakfast if food like a tomato and cheese egg scramble and pancakes are unacceptable. Some people just like to complain. Our room was perfect - well maintained and very relaxing. The fireplace and 2-person shower (we didn't have any hot water issues!) made it extra special. The location can't be beat! We went to dinner at the Shadowbrook restaurant and called for one of their vintage taxis, so we never needed to move our car from the hotel parking lot. I highly recommend walking along the beach from New Brighton Beach to Rio Del Mar and getting a pizza from Venus Pie Trap. A weekend of great memories!

WiFi in our room was very weak, but should you really be on your phone or computer on vacation?

Historical B&B with each room having a different theme! We stayed in the Kyoto room which had its own private zen like patio and soaking tub. Wine, cheese, crackers and fruit served in the early evening and breakfast served to our room! Onsite self parking with your own dedicated space made it easy and care free. Perfect get away for our Anniversary!

Wonderful property and we enjoyed our stay tremendously but noticed the waterfall in the Kyoto patio needed to be repaired and the sliding shades were a little hard to open and close, plus one window shade was cracked and needed replacement.

Everything!! We absolutely LOVED our stay. In fact, we booked another room later in the week. It’s such a quaint and unique hotel. All the rooms are a different theme and are beautiful. Check in was super easy! They had wine, cheese and fresh baked cookies in the lobby at happy hour and fresh cooked breakfast that you could enjoy in your room, in the dining area or the patio. We stayed in the Railroad Baron room. It was beautiful and spacious with the deepest bathtub I’ve ever seen. The bed was super comfy. The location is absolutely perfect. Just a short walk to capitola village. The manager and all staff we interacted with were so warm and welcoming.

Not a thing that we didn’t like. 10/10.

The room and staff were amazing. Lisa took the time and walked me around the whole facility. Breakfast was wonderful. And having a dedicated parking place was a major plus! Being a solo female traveler, I felt 100% safe. I will definitely be returning.

The internet was down when I tried to check in, but came back up as I was checking in. Not their fault.

Breafasts of Cinnamon french toast and Eggs Bennedict were superb. The staff was EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL. I did not realize the Inn was so historic - old train depot and one of the first structures in town. LOVELY VICTORIAN feel. I stayed in two different rooms and the larger, more modern and more expensive one held less charm for me but had ALL the touches of a chic modern hotel complete with flat screen fire piece under the TV, and a small patio. Did not love the drunk partiers in town for the Warf to Warf run litterally stumbling in late, but that is my bad for not realizing the run was that weekend. Peggy and Sager took EXCELLENT care of me and Sager's puppy brightented my day. The gronds have a small decorative pool, lovely vegetation and outdoor furniture and the living room has old world charm. It made it tough to choose to hang out in the Inn or go to the beach!

I prefer a softer bed but I know most people don't. It was a FINE, NORMAL mattress. I am just a softie.

I liked how spacious and comfortable the room was. The bathtub was very clean and big. Also we had wonderful breakfasts each of the mornings we were there. Everything was fresh and delicious. Probably the best bed and breakfast in town hands down. 😋

The room just had some minor things that needed fixing from age. Like the windows that wined outward. There was two bed pillows that weren't comfortable but the other two were just fine. We still slept good though.

Very cozy and private and so close to downtown and the ocean! Beautiful

The shower was either hot or cold, no matter how much adjustments were made but the bath you could get the right temperature which seems strange. And I don’t know if it was an option or not but wish we could have chose what we would liked for breakfast? We loved the first days breakfast but not so much the second day. But overall still enjoyed our time.

We loved the historic charm and uniqueness that we got to experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. The bathroom was big and the room felt like a home with the sitting area and fireplace. Very cozy and quaint! The breakfast was delicious as they brought it to our room. If you like boutique stays the Inn at Depot Hill is an excellent choice!

The room was cold but we discovered that we left the window open.

It is a beautiful location. Our suite was very nice.

The shower tub in our suite (Valencia) had a lot of issues. My wife couldn’t even shower in the morning. It was a big sunken tub you had to climb in to and it would be very easy to lose your balance and slip getting in and out of it. I wish we had taken photos of it. Other than that, everything else was perfect.

The Japanese room was beautiful and peaceful. wonderful tub. Having breakfast served in room was lovely.

Quite pricey for no views of sea. The wine and cheese selection was not great (cheap wine and cheese) considering price. The staff were friendly but we had a not great experience when one of the staff called after we checked out and told us we hadn’t returned one of the keys and they would hang on to our room deposit until we sent back the key. I told him I distinctly remember leaving the key in the room but he insisted it wasn’t there. I felt stressed about this as I knew I left key in the room as advised. Staff person called later and said they found the key under a robe when cleaning the room. I don’t know why given the high price that they would call to harass us about not returning the key before they cleaned the room. All in all, though, we loved the room and would probably return.
