Cleanliness, friendliness of staff , the area. Quietness in room. Accommodation cleaner is an excellent member of staff, and very helpful.

Hotel itself, we couldn't really fault , but plumbing and shower fixings need repairing to acceptable standards. Also TV channels are about 5 years out of date. The actual pub meals are good but compared to competitors are on the small side. Plus at breakfast no fresh drinking water available or small amounts of fruit juice available unless you keep asking. Which for the price is poor , in my opinion

The location was perfect opposite the breathtaking cliffs overlooking the gorgeous sandy beach. Every member of staff I met were friendly, professional and helpful. I was visiting for my father's funeral and the kindness I received from staff was gratefully received. I had dinner both evenings and the quality was exceptional. The cooked breakfast was also lovely. Piping hot food and very tasty as well as fantastic value with the 20% guest discount. The room was small but perfectly adequate for my needs and clean and tidy. The bathroom although small had a powerful shower which was lovely. Comfortable single bed and toasty warm.

It was a little bit of a struggle navigating the steep staircase but not enough to deter me from staying again but wouldn't be suitable for somebody with mobility issues. It was also quite noisy at night with people outside below my bedroom window but this may have been pub visitors and I would expect noise when staying in a pub. Or it may have been staff disposing of rubbish very loudly. However it didn't last long and didn't cause me too much inconvenience.

Very friendly. great location for visiting my parents. They booked a taxi for me for the following morning and helped with my case up the stairs. No lift. Breakfast on my first morning was delicious and served promptly with fresh coffee

Unfortunately the morning of my second day I had to leave early and there was no staff to open the breakfast room even thought it should have been open which was a little stressful as I had a long journey home to scotland and would have appreciated more time at breakfast. when they did arrive the same service as the previous day was not available, no one to help with case, I had to ask for breakfast. This may have been a one off as otherwise they were spot on.

We are a family of two adults and two teenage daughters and stayed in one room on the second floor. The Spyglass and Kettle is in a great location for the beach and Bournemouth is only a short drive away. We were happy with the room and the facilities and the breakfast provided was very good. It's a lively pub with live music, which we really enjoyed! We would definitely stay again and would recommend to family and friends!

The room was provided with one King sized bed, one single bed and a camp bed. The camp bed was ok but it would be better to replace it with a single bed

Everything, the location was excellent, the room was great, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really good was really varied and was reasonably priced. The Manager John was exceptional. He was really helpful, friendly and was always up for a chat. He was also extremely hardworking and on the Thursday we were there he started at 6.30am and became of a couple of people calling in sick, he worked until 10.30pm because he couldn’t let the team down. Top managers lead by example.

We were only there for 2 nights, could have been longer.

I always have a friendly efficient welcome. Staff are excellent. Food is excellent and served quickly eventhough the restaurant is always quite busy. The rooms are spotlessly clean and always smell very fresh. Dogs welcome is so nice and I've never ever found a single dog hair anywhere. I really welcomed my sea view, what a delight.

My shower took a while for me to work out the hot water control and there was a bit of rust on the shower due to it's age which is a shame but worked well. There was no hair conditioner which was disappointing. The windows are old but not blown. The property is quite old and therefore I was expecting these things I have mentioned which does not affect the overall stay and everything has been used to the very best advantage.

Absolutely lovely hotel, really impressed with the rooms and the space (needed when you have a toddler with you!), the soap and shower gel provided were lovely, the bed was comfy, view was great (we got a Seaview but unsure if others do), breakfast had a great variety and you could of course get lunch/dinner during the day (very handy if you arrive around dinner time!) Also, literally across the road is the path to head down the cliff to the beach, and it is a beautiful sandy beach, and we had perfect sunny weather! (For those not wanting to climb back up, there is a lift service 3-5min walk along the front to take you up and down, but you do have to pay for it!)

Only 2 mini downsides, it's a smallish staircase (spiral type) to get up with a large suitcase (I recommend a small hand luggage size one instead, but we packed for everyone in one big one) and although it is great they offer it, there is live music on a Friday night, which did sound good, but hard to get a toddler to sleep when you can hear it (didn't hear anything the previous night, as there was no live music, and only the odd person talking in the beer garden)

Location was stunning, having the facilities to just go downstairs and get food was also a bonus.

Some sort of air freshener had been used in the room, I understand they are trying to make it smell nice but the smell wasn’t pleasant, might just be me. On the Friday night a live band was playing, again might have been me for not realising but I was trying to sleep for an important event the next day, if I had of known I don’t think i would have booked to stay, again not a negative but it wasn’t made obvious when booking that the venue had live bands.

Lovely bar area in this pub. Very popular by the looks of it too. Staff very helpful even when busy. The managers husband even took our case up to the room for us which was very kind. Lots of stairs up to the rooms. Bed comfy but small in room 2. Only two things I would change: thicker, softer loo roll and more tea and milk left in the room. Piddly amounts of milk in the sachets. Overall a good stay but I would choose the Commodore Green King pub to stay next time as they have a lift!

The building is a fantastic 'pub with rooms' and it seems to be a real hub for the local community. The room was up in the roof but spacious and the bed was super comfy. USB sockets with the power sockets was a useful bonus. The food was real tasty pub grub - I had scampi and chips the first night and beef bourguignon the second, both delicious. Large beer and wine selection, and the place was buzzing both the nights I was there - but my room was two floors up and the sound did not travel, so two peaceful nights. But best of all was the staff, so friendly, cheery and helpful! They really made the place and I suspect that's why the pub is so popular. I'll be back!

I am fully abled, but I didn't see any lifts and the stairs are quite steep, as befits a vintage pub building of this sort. That's just the way it is.
