Stunning setting, little wooden cottages dotted among a semi-tropical paradise garden. Very private cottages, beautifully made with veranda and very peaceful. The owners were really friendly and welcoming. There was also a lovely communal room. Breakfast was served each day in our room on a tray, it was just perfect, including the most delicious home-made muesli. The location was perfect, walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The whole atmosphere of The Church accommodation and the village was exactly what we had wished for, in fact even better!

Maybe sometime in the future the bathrooms could be a little bit modernised.

We felt right at home when we arrived! We made a booking on short notice and Glen even waited a little longer for us to arrive to do the check-in - even if self check-in would have been possible, too. Glen is awesome!! He warmly welcomed us and took the time to give us recommendations and tips. We liked it so much that we actually stayed a night longer than anticipated!! Don't just drop by for one night, it is really worth it to stay at least two nights. The cottages feel super private and are really unique, having reused parts from an old church. They have shovels and extra towels for the hot water beach.

Just be aware that in the town there is only a small general store that is quite expensive. If you need groceries, get them before you arrive.

The room was spacious and beautifully designed, and the bed was really comfortable. It was lovely to sit on the veranda and look at the beautiful gardens and birds whilst having breakfast. We also had a really delicious meal at the high quality restaurant which was on the premises. Self check in was very easy. We really enjoyed our brief stay in Hahei.

We inadvertently left the veranda light on when we went to have dinner and on return there was a huge swarm of small flying beetle insects outside the front door. It was unavoidable that some would enter the room with us and it took us ages to get rid of them all, and it felt unsettling. Would advise future guests to not make this mistake!

Really sweet little cottages equipped with everything for a comfortable stay. Super clean with good quality bed linen. Breakfast was continental and had been placed in the room. The setting was perfect and our cabin was very private. The check in was easy and the attendant very helpful. Parking was right next to our cabin and the deck was lovely to sit out on. We stayed one night but wish we’d had longer. Easy walk to local beach which is stunning. Cafe and shops in town were excellent.

The Church Accommodation was better than it looked in the photos, very clean and comfortable and they provided a great breakfast tray. We received a really warm welcome and the owners provided lots of information about the area and Hot Water Beach. The grounds were beautiful and our cottage provided everything we needed. Close to the town centre and the beach we liked staying here.

The only thing I can think of is that the breakfast tray would be even better with a choice of bread for breakfast but the self catering breakfast tray was great - home made yogurt and granola, fresh orange juice, fruit, preserves etc.

The cottage was absolutely lovely. The private balcony, lush with vibrant plants, truly feels like a hidden paradise. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee or unwind in the evening surrounded by nature. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, making it an ideal getaway for anyone looking to disconnect and recharge. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return!

The single beds aren't too comfy.

Opted for the room with a fireplace, but allocated, when we arrived, the accessible cabin (my wife uses a wheelchair). Everything was perfect. Everyone was so engaging and helped in every way possible to make our stay really memorable. Continental breakfast deliver to the room is great value and very tasty. The small details making our visit enjoyable without a hitch were amazing. We used the fire, although we ended up a little too hot; not an actual issue with the separate bedroom, but mentioned to stress the efficiency of the wood burner. Great help with knowledge of the best activities and visits for our 2-day stay. A wonderful start to our New Zealand adventure, we really could not have booked better accommodation. Very highly recommended.

It was comfortable, clean, secluded, and peaceful. The garden area was adorable. The staff went above and beyond to help with laundry and knowledge of the area and even letting us borrow an htmi cord. It was more than I wanted to pay but the place was beautiful so it was worth it. We got to pick lemons off the tree in the garden even. It was a wonderful base to come back to. The kitchen was fully stocked.

There really wasn't anything we didn't like. Just be forewarned there is no air conditioning. There are plenty of fans however and it cools off enough at night.

Close to Hahei beach (a less than 10 minutes walk), a beautiful beach from where you can visit Cathedral Cove (for now only accessible by boat or kayak). It is also close to Hot Water Beach. This is the right place if you are looking for a quiet spot, with friendly staff and having the town restaurant at your doorstep.

Fantastic location - a short walk from the centre of Hahei. Comfortable, cozy and clean unit. Not modern but had a great vibe and had all the amenities needed. Beautiful garden with terrace with table and chairs. Staff very helpful and friendly. We had a late arrival but got good instructions. Great pub (The Pour House) walking distance away. Would come back again!
