We stayed for one night & found Orvieto utterly charming.The view from the Hotels 5th floor is incredible, and the marble staircase leading up to the rooms is beautiful. Our room (5th floor), bed along with the bathroom was spacious & comfortable. The hotel has a classic italian grand house area by the reception, well maintained & impressive on entrance. The hotel itself is well located just a side street away from the busier area, very peaceful. The server at breakfast was the friendliest person we met at the hotel, welcoming & attentive.

The reception staff were efficient but not exactly friendly or welcoming. No lift to the 5th floor & on leaving the lift entrance was blocked by cleaning equipment. We found a significant amount of dried bird mess on the outdoor seating on the balcony which we had to clean as we didn't want to complain & then wait for a cleaner. The shower has no tray to store shampoo etc. No shampoo was left for us to use only shower gel. Some scuffing to the walls which made the room feel shabby. Breakfast overall was ok, the hot food wasn't great. No wi-fi on the 5th floor which is unacceptable. For the money paid for a superior room, we expected more but for one night, the view made up for these issues.

we loved everything about Grand Hotel Italia! The room was wonderful — clean, spacious, comfortable bed, and a balcony! As great as the room was, the staff is the real star as they went above and beyond any levels of service one might reasonably expect; twice leaving the building with us to help us find locations we had missed. TRULY WONDERFUL! and, the included buffet breakfast was the best we’ve had during our month of travels through Italy. Grazie Mille!

There is nothing to dislike!

Great location- central & quiet. Lovely spacious light modern room on top floor with fabulous views. Modern bathroom that needs holder in shower for toiletries. Plenty of storage & comfortable bed. Wifi kept dropping out. This is a four star hotel that should have reliable & very secure wifi throughout. Urgent need of upgrade. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice & quality. All staff friendly & helpful.

Great location in the middle of the town. We had a room on the 5th floor with a wonderful terrace and a view of the town and the valley below. Staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us the tips on what to see which was invaluable. We parked in the square right next to the hotel because it was non-market day. Room had Aircon Would book again.

Breakfast was a little perfunctory and the coffee was filter in a big jug. Could do with a kettle in the room.

Grand Hotel Italia, Room 504 was lovely, with a comfy bed, a large terrace with table and chairs, a city view, and very close to the center of Orvieto. We also had slippers and robes. AND the breakfast was delightful with helpful, gracious, hotel staff.

the view from our room on the 5th floor was wonderful. the room itself modern and clean. the situation of the hotel in the city center is great too.

the sound isolation within the hotel is a disaster. you hear every movement outside your room very loud. the breakfast is served in a room without any windows which has absolutely no charm.

The gentlemen at the front desk went over and above our expectations to help us with our luggage, arrange a taxi for us, provide useful Information quickly, and one gentleman responded to my call at 6 am for additional toilet paper & delivered it to my door in less than a minute! Fabulous service,beautiful hotel,great location!

Great location. Room 308 was big. Restaurant recommendations of the Reception staff were good. Hotel is clean and elegant. Amenities in the room like slippers were nice.

We had to park in Parking Via Roma due to planned events that prevented us from driving close to the hotel. We had to drag our luggage uphill about 800 meters to get to the hotel. if possible, try to find closer parking if you have heavy luggage. Room 311 looks at a wall and had problems with Internet reception. Not enough water in the refrigerator and we had to pay for it. A courtesy bottle would be nice for the price we paid.

The location is very central but not on any main street so it's quiet. The bathrooms were nice. Breakfast had everything that I would ever want and the staff kept the food coming. All the hotel staff are very helpful and nice.

We asked for 2 rooms with twin beds. 1 room was a twin but the other was prepared as a double. There is obviously some communication problem between booking.com and the hotels because the same thing happened with our hotel in Firenze. The staff were quick to fix the situation. Those beds are hard. I can do hard but we really didn't like these beds at all.

Location & breakfast were exceptional! We loved our big terrace as sat out every evening.

Front desk staff, while Knowledgeable and polite weren’t particularly warm or welcoming The kitchen staff and cleaning staff were very friendly and obliging.
