The location was the main reason I booked the Hotel and the price was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. The room was very tidy and facilities excellent. The bar was well stocked, although I did not stay for an evening meal so cannot comment on that. Breakfast quality and range was very good too, although you had to ask for fried eggs.
There were no signs for where to park. After driving round the hotel I had to park in the disabled parking outside the front of the hotel to go in and ask. Parking was in the Blue Car park opposite the hotel (for those that are travelling from now on). While I was there (for one night), I advised four other drivers where to park who stopped me to ask. This could be cleared up by putting a sign up at the front of the hotel.

The location was convenient for me and easy to find. My room was very clean and had everything you'd expect, and the fridge came in handy. They do have a shop where you can buy cereal, microwave meals (you can heat them there and then), snacks, hot and cold drinks along with essentials. It's a bit expensive, but a service I've not come across before in a hotel. This also means there's no expectation that you're going to use the on-site restaurant, so having this facility is a great idea. I had 1 meal in the restaurant, it was very good and reasonably priced. The staff were super helpful, friendly, and very attentive. I'd definitely recommend it.
Not a big issue, but you have to park in the stadium car park over the road, so be aware if you have lots of luggage. It might be worth checking for upcoming matches as I would expect the car park could get pretty full.

Friendly and helpful staff through out our stay. Large open spaces, Mini shop.. Great idea! Breakfast, good range and again staff member very friendly and helpful. Room was vlean and good size. Shower room good and shower dispensers good. Layout of restaurant and bar. Nice open reception area. Bedroom furniture robust and went well in the room. Good location.
Pillows too soft, even if you bunch both together they still go flat. Had the same issue at york hilton hotel. Bed, quite hard in comparison to other hotels. Coffee sachets not nice, would be nice to have a better selection, with teaspoon opposed to wooden stirrers. Not enough sugars, milk portions. Missing part plastic covering near window, wiring. Wooden wall plinth behind curtain unfinished.

Friendly and efficient check-in. Clean and modern hotel with spacious rooms. Fairly quiet. It has a good location near the football stadium and pool (I was there on business but it would be good for either of these facilities). Nice breakfast although not cheap at £12 for a fairly small buffet selection.
The bath was missing a plug so could only be used for showers - not sure if this was accidental or a purposeful attempt to save money on water bills (if so, why not just rip out the bath and have a shower cubicle...). Free parking is across the road at the football ground, so not sure how easy it would be to get parked on a match day and doesn't feel overly secure.

Room spotless and comfortable. Staff helpful/friendly.
Breakfast was good but could have been hotter. Only having one tea/coffee dispenser for the whole breakfast room was unacceptable and resulted in long queues and us going back to the room for tea/coffee. We told reception on leaving. Location excellent for Stadium and good for city access but a nightmare to get there on match day with road closures and parking having to be arranged by the hitel for us a short distance away rather than in their usual car park.

The rooms are stylish, big and of high standards. WiFi is great and the rooms are clean. It’s great that there is a fridge. The bathrooms are great with very good quality toiletries. Great running hot water and very roomy. The rooms seem soundproof which is great. We had a view of the stadium of light and the carpark and the view of the sunrise in the morning was incredible. The staff are very willing to help if you need anything, they are approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. We had breakfast and it was amazing! 10/10 to the chef!!! I highly recommend this hotel for all ages and all occasions.
The rooms are very hot and after a shower they are extremely stuffy. Windows do not open. I spotted a room service lady and she gave me a wedge to open the door slightly to let air in the room. A member of staff also gave me a fan to circulate the air in the room. The carpets are heavily stained. It’s understandable but makes the rooms look dirty. Not enough tea, coffee ect left and the bin bags are too flimsy. The corridors are very hot and I don’t think it is necessary to be that hot.

The staff at the Hiton Garden were exceptional . With Jamie one of the night Managers being absolutely fantastic and Niamh in the restaurant always providing excellent customer service.
I feel.the energy coming from the kitchen did not match the rest of the hotel staff. During my stay the soup of the day became the soup of everyday. This soup choice was not to my liking and it was on every single day. In the cold wintery Weather sometimes people enjoy soup to warm through but rhe choice was not there. Rather Annoying!!! Also one morning I ordered and omelette and when it arrived it looked awful barely cooked and had a strange smell. I sent it back, wasn't offered another or received an apology. I witnessed the same happen with a customer who had ordered poached eggs earlier in the week

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. What impressed me the most was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The reception team went above and beyond to assist me, especially when I needed a taxi. Despite the taxi booking system requiring a reference phone number, they used the hotel’s number, making the process hassle-free for me. The hotel's location is ideal—close to the Stadium of Light and not far from the station. The restaurant also served a delicious dinner meal, adding to the positive experience. Additionally, I accidentally left my bag at the hotel lobby, and the reception promptly took care of it, ensuring it was safe until I returned. Their professionalism and attention to detail made my stay much more comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional customer service, convenient location, and welcoming atmosphere.
One area for improvement is the breakfast. It would be great to see more variety in both food and drinks to further elevate the hotel’s overall standard. Despite this, I highly recommend the hotel for its exceptional customer service and welcoming atmosphere.

Wow Hilton Garden Sunderland just Wow. Every single.member of staff from.housekeeping to restaurant to.reception to bar and security and hopefully I havemt missed anyone. Absolutely superb. A couple.of things happened during my stay. I lost my mobile phone. And every member of staff who was there at the time. Asked me everyrime I passed them.. " have you got it yet " and when I actually did they were genuinely happy. Another occasion I wasn't feeling well.and got.a Jack.Daniels.to help my chest and the night manager immediately said " would you.like.me.to. get.you some honey it may help" I.just thought this was customer.service on another level. Well.done all.of.you. you should be proud of your selves because I certainly am
Nothing I didn't.like. apart from the fact these amazing people.probably don't get paid anywhere near what they deseve

The room was comfortable . Very clean.
Lighting was dim. Quilts are thin and no extra blanket. No biscuits. The staff didnt know that I had booked breakfast, I booked it the previous evening, but instead of telling us to go and sit down and they would sort it out we were told to stand aside whilst other people were dealt with. Very rude. They done the same to another guest as well. Breakfast was poor, the staff were grumpy and rude, especially what I assume was a supervisor/manager, she wore a different uniform. 3/4 of the hot food was cold.
