Perfectly positioned in the heart of Johannesburg if you actually wanted to leave the Monte Casino which has so much to offer from restaurants and entertainment in a beautiful environment. We loved our stay and would like to especially commend you on the most scrumptious breakfasts! Huge selection from 3 varieties of sausages, bacon, savoury mince, chicken livers, curried chicken peas, baked beans, stir fried veggies the list goes on…. Continental option with cold meats and cheeses, cereals, fresh bakes and pastries, fruit and yoghurt to end off with a waffle and coffee Incredible can’t praise you enough well done!!!

The rooms are quite compact with the bathroom in the room. Toilet and shower separated by a small glass door. However it is functional and effective.

Reception staff was friendly and helpful , check in was quick, the breakfast was good with a nice variety, the room was clean and housekeeping were timely. The facilities was clean and up to standard

Calling reception from the room sometimes was a challenge with no answer or long wait for answer but when they did answer the staff were helful. The WIFI was open not requiring password . The city itself was not safe, a family on the same return flight as me was robbed right outside the airport and the taxi driver who took me to the airport told me his previous passenger was just robbed of her phone

Rooms were compact but had everything we needed. There were lots of choices for breakfast. The resort had many very good restaurants to choose from for lunches and dinners. Overall excellent value for money and would definitely recommend staying here.

The communication with the hotel on Booking.com gave generic responses when I asked for an early check in. We took a chance and got there early and were given our room immediately, but would have been nice to have that confirmation before we arrived, so that we could have had more peace of mind.

All good, great location and well managed hotel. Gave us everything we needed for our stay in Johannesburg. Good parking , very safe location and immediate access to all of the facilities of Monte-casino. Great restaurants and no need to drive

Only 1 thing, That horrible great big screen in the Piazza flashing blinding light at you all the time showing you repeatably loads of adverts you don't want to see. Feel sorry for the restaurant next door which we fancied but left to find another not ruined by the huge telly. Monte-casino is great but the screen ruins what is otherwise perfect.

My husband and I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at the Piazza hotel. Breakfast was most enjoyable with such a wide variety to choose from. Friendly staff, safety and comfort ensured we had a most enjoyable stay. Room service was perfect with a nice fresh bottle of water each time. Two large bottles of water as a welcome gift. As far as we are concerned, we would most certainly visit the Piazza hotel again.

One of the bedside lamps was faulty. The shower door failed to close completely.

Convenient and clean hotel with good reception staff

Food and beverage service was simply appalling. To get drinks from the bar we had to call the manager and the staff did not even listen to him. They were having lunch breaks, chatting to colleagues and serving customers was bottom of the list. Breakfast service was a joke. Arrive and complete self service. When looking for coffee we had to go and collect a jug and the waiter had the audacity to ask if we wanted all the coffee to ourselves. First time anyone had approached our table. F&B staff very lazy arrogant and think they are doing guests a favour when they want to serve them. Stay at the hotel but eat and drink elsewhere in the complex

This is my second time staying at the Piazza and my stays are always over 2 weeks. What I love is that even though it has been 2 years between visits, the standard of the hotel has not dropped. I always feel comfortable staying their. Most of my interaction was actually with the housekeeping members and I have nothing but praise for them. Only reason cannot say anything about other members, is due to not having any issues, I did not need to make contact which in a way say how great it was staying their as their were no issues with my room or anything else. Thank you for a great place to stay

Their is nothing I did not like

Staff were friendly at all times. The room and bathroom were clean and neat, which made the stay that much more amazing. The bed was comfortable and the weather was cold and rainy but the room was warm and when we requested extra blankets at 1am the front desk was friendly and helped immediately. Breakfast in the morning was delicious a big variety. However, I am halaal, so for me personally, most of the savory breakfast was off limits. Stay was amazing, and will definitely stay again.

The location, accessibility to places of interest. DJ was organised on New Year’s Eve that was so entertaining and awesome. Staff was quick to respond to the issues experienced. Breakfast was good.

An inconvenience on New Year’s Day when going for breakfast the place was packed and we had to be on a waiting list which was very long. The hotel should consider creating more space as this could be a turn off to some guests. Good news is that the food was enough and did not run out.

The room was clean, has a separate shower and separate toilet and a small bar fridge to keep food cold. The location of the hotel is excellent, especially as we attended a show, the theater is only about 30m away. The breakfast was, as usual, excellent with a great choice (yogurt, fresh fruits, breads, pastries, eggs, bacon, sausages, chicken livers, etc.) and fresh juices, coffees and teas. There are also gym facilities and a bar.

The bed was squeaky and there was only 1 small bottle of water for 2 persons. We had an issue at the bar where the bartender overcharged us for the drinks, but after enquiring the amount paid, he refunded the overcharged amount.
