Highly recommend this place! The B&B is located in an old but fully renovated country house with nice patio and swimming pool. Room was clean and spacious, with modern finishings. Breakfast was great and freshly prepared every morning, there are few options (both sweet and salty) from which you can choose one per person (if you want an extra, it will be charged). We also had dinner at La Sosta restaurant, which was absolutely amazing! Staff was nice and attentive, and dining experience, as well as food quality and presentation were those of a starred restaurant. Highly recommend this stop on the Garden Route!

La Sosta was an unforgettable stay for us. We were welcomed warmly by Karal (apologies if spelling is incorrect) and we immediately felt at home, also he makes an exceptional bergamot G&T - beats anything I’ve had in London or anywhere for that matter. The room was comfortable and cosy and they had thought of everything; we even had a couple of hot water bottles just in case. The attention to detail was very much appreciated. When looking for a spot to stay the raving reviews about La Sosta’s food really clinched it for us - and they did not disappoint. A friend of ours with a couple of dietary intolerances wanted to join us for dinner and La Sosta took it very seriously and did their best to accommodate her. We appreciate you going above and beyond for us! On top of the excellent customer service the food was unbelievably good at both dinner and breakfast and it is set in an intimate, candlelit dining area - what more could you ask for.

We hadn’t stayed longer - we may plan our next trip to South Africa around visiting La Sosta again!

The room was so very comfortable! The wall heater didn’t do much to heat the room but the electric mattress pad and heavy duvet kept us warm. The large walk-in shower was absolutely a highlight! The hot shower on a cold, wet day was perfect! We loved the little things like the cozy blankets outside the room to wrap in to sit at either the table or 2 seater. If we had more time there, much of our time would have been spent either around the seater or by the pool. The individualized spaces that you have created for each room was lovely too with the partitioning, separate tables and such.

1. I would have liked to have put my things into a room safe. 2. I kept getting tripped up in the room rug. 3. Initially, we were a little nervous of storing things in the fridge outside the room. It worked out fine in the end but we wondered if the fridge could be in the room for convenience as well along with safety? We didn’t know the area / city so was very shocked to find no gates, walls, or barbed wire around each property. It made for a refreshing experience to just breathe and soak in the misty atmosphere.

This is a lovely boutique hotel with 6 bedrooms in the middle of Swellendam, which is a little gem. Run by husband and wife. The bedrooms were a good size and had everything you would need and very clean. There is a pool for the guests to use, which was very close to the rooms. We had a tasting menue for Valentines night and I must say the food and wines were excellent and certainly value for money. The staff were very friendly and the attention to detail of everything in our stay was excellent.

The welcome was warm & friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. But you visit La Sosta for the food which was exceptional. The heart warms when you see a short a la carte menu. No tedious "tasting" menu here. You can choose what you want to eat. And its very good. Lovely flavours, well presented. We could fault nothing and the staff were pleasant, helpful in explaining the menu and the very interesting wine list with lots of local wines.

La Sosta is a Boutique hotel is every sense of the word without the price tag of a hotel. This accomodation is a gem, in the town of Swellendam and within walking distance of it's lovely shops, cafes and historic areas. With beautiful maintained grounds and lovely rooms and some of the most friendly welcoming staff we have met . Do not miss the opportunity to dine in their onsite restaurant as you won't be disappointed they have amazing talented chefs who cook with pure passion and innovation to deliver Michelin star quality food at local prices, And what a meal!!!. The food, presention and service is just incredible (so if you don’t stay here, make sure you eat here) as you'll be blown away by the standard and quality. we are so thankful to the team for one of the most memorable stays we’ve had on this trip to Swellendam and SA. A truly wonderful experience, thank you all 😁😁We hope to get back for a third visit in the near future.

Nothing, everything you require was catered for.

The room was very comfortable and facilities were excellent. The gardens and pool area were beautiful as was the restaurant area.

The only disappointment was the breakfast arrangement which in comparison with similar places fell short. Only one dish was offered from a choice of four, the juices did not seem to be fresh and there was an additional charge for anything other than filter coffee or tea. We would rather have paid more to have a more comprehensive breakfast. However, this was not a big issue and we would want to stay here again.

The room was a bit smaller than we expected and didn’t have air conditioning which made it uncomfortable to sleep. Unfortunately we were not able to make a dinner reservation at the restaurant as seating limited so hopefully they will be able to expand soon to accommodate all guests.

We travel between Knysna and Franschhoek on a regular basis but this time we wanted to overnight and have a well anticipated dinner. Nothing disappointed and we were royally treated by all. Special mention to Carel who is a gem in terms of wine knowledge and presentation of menu items. A delicious dinner with accompanying music and gentle ambience made for a memorable evening.

La Sosta is a gem in Swellendam. We had booked for the previous night but due to car trouble were stuck some 700 km away. I called two days in advance to advise that we could not take up our booking and asked if we could possibly have a voucher for another time. The response was quick and positive. When we were underway we didn't think we could get to Swellendam but at 4 pm I called and asked if we could still have a room and received a warm and welcoming reply. We were met by Bronwyn with a superb welcome. To cap it all we had a wonderful dinner in their amazing restaurant.
