The receptionist was lovely and extremely helpful. We had been there before and found her exceptionally welcoming on both occasions.

We had breakfast in the restaurant on our first morning only. It was more expensive than equivalent meals in Torquay and was served cold or lukewarm at best. They had obviously been sitting for some time before being served. It was eatable, although disappointing for the $24 each breakfast cost. It basically put us off having breakfast there on the following 3 mornings. I will add the waitress was very apologetic and offered to make both of them again but we declined as we had run out of time and had to leave to meet our appointments.

The lift wasn’t working to our unit and advised to use the stairs instead REALLY Strange smell emanating from the drains A lot of fluffy dust on surfaces Long black hair folded into the clean towel. Eating facilities at the property were either closed or not open after 5pm, which we were not advised about until after we had booked and paid

The staff - very friendly before and during our stay. Tracey and Marcus at reception, and the staff in the bistro. Rooms were large , clean and comfortable. Onsite bistro. Swimming pool.

Would have liked robes and slippers - especially in winter, also would have been good to go to the pool. No lockers in pool area - there but they don’t use them - if I had known would have left my handbag in my room. Didn’t like that the entire pool was divided into swimming lanes. Surprisingly no amenities in the bathroom - shower cap, cotton pads, etc.

The Sands is an unpretentious place to relax and unwind. I was travelling solo and it offered just that. The room facilities are good, the bed comfortable. Smart TV worked well and was good quality. The bistro food was yummy, Italian made pizza and the breakfast too. Staff were polite and helpful. The location is exceptional as well. Stones throw to the beach. I would definitely come again and bring my family too.

Would love to see additional offerings such as a sauna and jacuzzi! Could wipe down the dust from the outdoor seating so I could sit and enjoy the outside without getting dusty. But these are just small things.

The staff were very friendly, lovely atmosphere in the bar with wonderful views. watched the kangaroos come in over the golf course at dusk. The beds were soft and comfy and the rooms decor was very nice.

There were no bathmats supplied, so we used a towel on the floor ,and the rubbish was put into large skip bins outside our room late at night, scared us half to death and was hard to get to sleep again. We had breakfast included (which we paid for) but then the coffee supplied was so bad that we had to additionally pay for an upgraded coffee, Just make good coffee the one from the canister had coffee grinds floating in it and tasted like water.

We checked in late and rushed to get a quick dinner in bar / restaurant before it closed. Pizza was good. Check in staff very friendly, helpful when our key card did not work (quickly came to room with new key cards.) Overall a very clean higher-end place to stay.

TV was not working because remote receiver covered with tape and tv unplugged in wall behind tv. I removed the tape; staff plugged in the tv, and it worked. Restaurants opened too late (7:30?) for us too eat breakfast here. Nothing walkable distance either

Friendly, helpful staff and absolutely amazing facilities (huge gym with every possible piece of equipment and 25m heated indoor pool), restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. Clean, tidy and large rooms. Plenty of parking.

The walls / door were super thin, it meant we heard every single person coming and going into their rooms, at one point I even heard the room above us clearly use the toilet. We stayed at the same time as quite a few friends (for a wedding), we all paid the same price for our rooms but some rooms were randomly allocated golf course facing rooms while others were allocated car park facing rooms. Those unlucky enough to face the car park had constant lights shining into their room (in between the blinds), additional noise and less privacy.

Love the location, the facilities and Netflix is fantastic. The beds super comfortable and the shower is amazing. When we arrived which was dinner time the staff said if we hadn’t had dinner yet that the restaurant was open for service. We declined as we didn’t like our experience last time they explained that they had a new chef since our last visit and that we might be pleasantly surprised. So we gave it a go and so glad we did the food was delish the service was friendly. We would now happily eat there and recommend it to others. Upon leaving staff asked where we were off to next we explained that we thought we may visit some of the local wineries on the way home. The staff said that the sands was floating the idea of a winery tour from the hotel. We thought that it was a brilliant idea. If the sands decides to offer this in the future please let us know!

Everything was great

Staff were exceptional, in particular the lady who checked us in and assisted us with our air con, getting additional items for our room and also personally walked us to get a table at the restaurant. The customer service was beyond exceptional.

The only feedback I would give is that the Bar was shut for our stay however it was in the advertised photos. That was a little let down. Also being winter, we only had a thin dooner cover on the bed, which was too cold in Winter.

The hotel room was spacious If you like to golf, it's the place to stay A 10 min walk to the beach. Can Uber into the main area ($12 each way) or can Shuttle in (costs involved) or 30 min beach walk. The breakfast included was good. There was a variety of dishes to choose from. Front reception staff were lovely.

We couldn't sit on the balcony as the hot air from the air con unit was blowing on us, and on a hot day, this was too hot. Suggest maybe encosing the unit on the balcony if possible. Bed are soft but sink into them.
