Location convenient for our dinner that evening. Lovely setting in mature and leafy grounds, with a decent sized well set pool, very spacious room (we had the honeymoon suite so not sure of others)

Occasional traffic noise from main road - not high, but those wishing for real tranquillity please note. Dated interiors. Room needed a/c given summer, would have preferred a fan.

Beautiful location with stunning rooms, amazing views and a lovely swimming pool. Most importantly, they are pet friendly and our 2 dogs had a great time. We also enjoyed a short walk down to the river.

I have stayed at similar places that were cheaper. Comparatively speaking, I think if Le Manor de Brendal included breakfast in their price, then it would have been full 5 stars across the board.

A lovely property, very clean and Charmaine and staff were kind and helpful. Fabulous breakfasts and we really enjoyed the beautiful gardens, pool and tennis court.

Our room wasn’t as well situated as others to enjoy the gardens and views (behind the tennis court) but was clean and had all we needed.

A very special place. I stayed here in 2016 and was delighted to return. It was just as fantastic as I remembered. So much character, none of the pretentiousness as some other places in the area, a beautiful setting (with grounds to walk in), serene and tranquil, and Charmaine and her team are just wonderful.

Great, secure location with stunning mountain views and on-site parking. Large, modern, well appointed room in one of the annexes separate from the main house with double bathroom and large, comfortable bed. Pleasant patio barbecue area with sufficient privacy from immediate neighbouring guests. Nice pool with attentive bar service. Large grounds ideal for tranquil, scenic stroll before or after meals. Cosy guest lounge in main farm-house. Superb alfresco breakfast on the main house verandah with a view and an extensive range of options, including many delicious locally sourced items (honey, butter, yoghurt).

Wi-Fi coverage in the annex was patchy, although manager did respond that they were experiencing poor service from their Internet Provider (which I can very well believe) and were trying hard to resolve with purchase of booster signal equipment. It wasn't a deal breaker for us, but if you are dependent on continuous, strong wi-fi throughout your stay, I'd suggest that you phone ahead and check before committing. Load-shedding (scheduled power cuts) also affects wi-fi and aircon, but that can't be blamed on the venue. Serving staff were very well meaning and good intentioned, but could benefit from a touch more training - there were a few minor mix-ups at a busy breakfast serving with cold not hot milk with coffee and a delay in replenishing milk for cereals.

It's a beautiful estate, with a cosy room. Even in the heart of winter, our room was snug and warm. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We didn't have the breakfast, but it looked good. They gave us a complimentary bottle of wine.

Nothing! Was lovely.

We had a lovely stay! It is very spacious, lots of green / beautiful surroundings, large room, excellent service and hospitality. Also location wise we thought it was perfect.

Nothing that I can think of.

Stunning peaceful gardens and setting, beautiful pool and pool area, large comfortable rooms with private patio, beautiful clay tennis court, large chess board.

wifi did not work or cover area of bedrooms / pool area. The entrance gate was a bit temperamental.

Charne is an excellent host and looked after us during our entire stay. Charmaine was also a good host and very knowledgeable about local events. The breakfast is fabulous and the red clay tennis court was a nice surprise.

Brendel is a great boutique estate and we loved it. One thing I would suggest is adding wifi to the entire property not just the main manor. I also suggest contacting Google to remove the spa reference as there was no spa.
