Breakfast was great, ordering off menu plus having a small buffet is very good. Very nice environment too, coffee from near the pool area is nicer than the breakfast area however. Lovely staff there. Location is excellent. It's close enough to walk (or hire their bikes which looked good), but not so close you are in the hustle and bustle. Feels very safe, and the gardens are beautifully maintained.

My business partner and I both booked the same room type, and checked in together, and one was upgraded to a RIDICULOUSLY huge suite and i was put in the pokiest room in the entire establishment (room 1). Bit weird upgrading one of two in a party, and the disparity being so big. Then the staff member comes up and goes "I can upgrade you too for 5000 a night"... super weird. However the rest of the stay was good, and at the end of the day, i got the room that I paid for and my friend was lucky, if it was the other way around I'd be stoked. cie la vie. In future i'd just suggest perhaps not upgrading ONE of a group of TWO... just a bit weird.

We have stayed in the villas here several times before and this one was as lovely and clean as ever, and the gardens were beautiful. However the little touches that have made this place special were not there this time. There was no welcoming bottle of wine or bowl of fruit, their signature lavender toiletries have been replaced by generic ones, and there were no vanity packs also very limited supplies of teas ( only two sachets and three choices) and coffee.

The restaurant and choice of menu was disappointing, in particular the lack of vegetarian choice, just one poor option. The length of time we had to wait to be served was also not acceptable, by the time it came to dessert we gave up. We were very disappointed as we have always enjoyed top quality meals in Franschhoek on our previous visits. Breakfasts were served at a different location which was lovely, however the choice of fruits and pastries on the buffet breakfast were very limited.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Franschoek Country House and Villas. The staff were all absolutely excellent, so friendly and helpful and a real plus point. The pool area was lovely and we enjoyed breakfast each morning which offered a great selection. We just had the basic rooms, which were very spacious, but as these rooms in particular are older, don't expect all mod-cons. They were perfectly pleasant though. We really appreciated the hotel shuttle service which was very efficient and made going out to dinner a breeze.

Air conditioning unit in the bedroom was quite noisy. We had rooms in the building above the restaurant and it could be quite noisy early in the morning with lots of banging around from staff, even though breakfast isn't served here.

It was so stylish and laid out in such a beautiful relaxing way with scents of the lavender and wild garlic and lemons as you wended your way through the gardens. The staff could not have been more helpful, I wasn’t well whilst there and they made me special tea and brought whatever I needed to me in my room always with a smile and concern. I can’t wait to go back and experience this wonderful place again.

Nothing not to like!

The Suites are everything you want, comfortable, quiet & clean. Breakfast with its array of fresh fruits, breads & juices followed by an excellent omelette or poached eggs perfectly cooked is worth getting up for. The pool area is lovely, serving delicious lunches on the lawn. It is a restful setting with the wine train tootling past every half hour or so. The staff led by Bonetta are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. Monneaux Restaurant serves excellent food with tasty plates, leave room for pudding. Well worth a visit.

Nice rooms and very kindly and friendly staff. Breakfast was fine, but could maybe have expected little bit more since this was a 5 stars hotel. Very beautiful park and swimming pool area. Very good with free shuttle to down-town when ever you needed it.

The management should consider other type of uniform for waitors in the restaurants. It did not seem nice with jeans and private shoes.

The staff were warm, friendly and helpful (every single one). The premises is magical! The food at Monneaux Restaurant was delicious, and combined with the ambience made for an exceptional evening. Breakfast served the next morning had the perfect variety, was fresh and the cooked breakfast was so hot (straight from the pan to the table). AND HOT COFFEE!! Everything was perfect. It was dreadful to get in the car and return to the real world.

The fact that we had to go home.

World class retreat in Wine Country. Enormous very comfortable room. Superb restaurant for dinner. Also great breakfast. Loved the chilled, but classy vibe - nice lawns around the pools and beautiful, almost provencal, gardens. The hotel taxi service allows you to visit, and enjoy, nearby wineries and restaurants.

Accommodations were very well appointed and welcoming. Breakfast was generous and well sourced. Property was well maintained and quite nicely landscaped. Location was not within walking distance to town, a little more than a mioe with no sidewalks, but on call car and driver made it easy to get in and back.

Close to the town. Lovely setting, comfortable rooms. Exceptional staff. Staff were so helpful. They set up a WhatsApp message and do free picks up and drops off, & offered local restaurant recommendations and attractions advice.

Bathroom had no heater to keep towels dry.
