This was a nice appartment in an excellent location with private, secure parking and a big terrace (no view). Beds were very comfortable and having 2 bathrooms was a bonus. It is nicely decorated and very comfortable but it has seen better days so there are minor things that will need updating. It is easy and safe to walk from the appartement around the Franschoek town and reach all the nice restaurants and the wine tram in minutes.

Unfortunately the cleaning lady had a bad day when cleaning this appartment and left dirty pillow cases on pillows in the smaller bedroom. We informed the manager and he promptly arraged a change and apologized for the inconvenience. We only stayed for one night so we didn't use the kitchen but in the morning we did realise that some parts of it were also not cleaned.

Fabulous location in the heart of the town so easy to get to everything. Super friendly host helped us with our luggage up the stairs. Apartment (9) was perfect for our needs - clean, well equipped, light and bright and also quiet inside. felt safe and able to park car underneath. Saturday market across the road and great breakfast / brunch spot on corner so not far to walk for breakfast if not having it in the apartment. Would definitely stay again.

These are being super picky as overall was great. Decor / condition was slightly 'tired' in places, but still acceptable. Air con lacking in second bedroom and take an eye mask if sleeping on mezzanine floor as it's open and blinds do not block out the light. Often smelt of toast due to the proximity of aforementioned brunch spot!

The Ivy Apartments are beautifully decorated and very spacious for a couple. The staff are very welcoming and helpful on arrival and the apartment has everything you would need for self catering, including a nice outdoor area with table and chairs. Location is also perfect for a visit to Franschhoek, located on the main street near shops and restaurants etc. Added bonus was the electric blankets that were very welcome in the cool evenings!

A lot of light enters the room through a large bay window with no blind/curtain, that can result in waking up earlier than anticipated (albeit to beautiful surroundings)! Bringing an eye mask may be helpful to resolve.

The Ivy apartments are well located in Franschhoek, walkable to shops and restaurants and also the wine tram station. The parking is secure and the apartment we stayed in was well maintained and very comfortable for a 5 night stay as a family. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful.

It’s really hard to find anything to critique. Perhaps for family stays a couple of books or board games could be helpful, especially for a wet and windy day, but there is a bookshop just round the corner so the problem was easily solved.

Fantastic apartments that are clean and well maintained with extra friendly staff. Yeah we had a rough first night because of power outages in the town but the staff were so apologetic and helpful throughout. The units are self catering and have an inverter with wifi, heating and all the comforts that made our stay memorable. The location is also great, right in the center of town and within walking distance of all the endless little boutique outlets, bistros and cafes.

Would have liked the units to have torches for when the inverter ran out but this was just a minor setback.

The apartment is very spacious with great, natural light. The little touches that made all the difference for me were the international plug points and the bathrobes. The checking in process was very easy and the chap who checked me in and out was kind enough to help with carrying my luggage to and from my car. I would certainly consider staying here again in the future.

The location is in excellent proximity to anything you may need in the area, however it was a bit loud until quite late on Saturday night given it’s across a restaurant. There also isn’t a daily cleaning service which is something I hadn’t thought to check but would’ve been nice.

Property has a lovely French feel, the rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen had some milk and tea and coffee along with some coffee pods. The bathroom products smelt amazing. The location was the key for us…. Is about a 10 minute flat walk to the wine tram station. In addition, the shops and restaurants at your footsteps. Has a balcony with a 4 chair and table outdoor table for the smokers. I was with a smoker and lm not, the smell didn’t come inside. The restaurant on the left corner as you walk up to main st was great. We had a pizza, salad and pasta with cocktails, all was fresh and delicious- I recommend there, great for all ages. Sorry can’t remember the name.

Nothing it was all good, parking was tight, but l have a big SUV. Also it’s up one flight of stairs - normal staircase, just thought l’d mention in case of mobility issues. It would have been nice if you offered a supermarket service. We would have paid extra for breakfast food - if you had a menu of items l would have ordered bread butter and jams, and nut alternatives milks. I ended up going out for breakfast, but some of the days would have been nice to lounge in the beautiful space. So on that note, if you do stay BYO breakfast, or be prepared to run to the supermarket.

Wellington, excellent and very helpful. Rooms comfortable and clean. Pizza restaurant right across the road.

Bernie, management lady - tried to tell us we had not booked for the correct number of people and that the facility charges per person and wanted to invoice us for additional people, only to find out that we had in fact booked for the correct number of people. She was very firm on the phone and then no apology after discovering she was wrong. Unlikely to book there again based purely on this interaction.

Usually the Ivy apartments only does check-ins until 7pm, however our flight got delayed and they waited until 10pm to see us in. The staff are so friendly and considerate. Everything is in walking distance. We stayed in Apartment 6 and it was beautiful, warm, comfortable and so modern. Even though there was loadshedding, there was a backup system that kept our apartment lights in. And to top that, we were called and notified that we paid too much, and as a result we were moved to an even bigger apartment to balance the extra money we paid. It was one of the most pleasant stays ever. Highly recommend!

Superb place for anyone - family or friends. Had a very lovely stay and couldn't have picked a better hub to explore Franschhoek from. It's right in the middle of everything.

It's an apartment, not a hotel, so expectations have to be set accordingly. There are no restaurants or spas on site. But that is definitely not an issue as you can find whatever you want within a walking distance.
