I was lucky enough to meet a travel professional who specialises in European train travel. I mentioned that I was travelling through Italy with my wife and friends and we were trying to decide where to stay. They suggested a hotel group called Star Hotels, conveniently situated by train stations. This proved to be exceptional advice I was lucky to have acted on! We arrived by train to Milano, Bologna and Naples each of these stops finding Star Hotels so very conveniently located. And what an oasis of comfort, great service and with lovely rooms and great beds. In Bologna my wife broke the handle of her bag using the automatic doors and our friends had an error in the way they booked (two rooms instead of one room with two twin beds) – one individual really stood out in solving all these issues, Andre Franceschi was amazing. So, without hesitation I would recommend Star Hotels!

Perfectly convenient location directly across from central train station and main subway line. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Rooms were spacious and immaculate, with very comfortable beds, near blackout curtains, and showers with good pressure and very hot water. Truly the best rooms we have ever enjoyed in Europe at that price point

The breakfast buffet. Very little variety of fruit, and only one type of cheese. No potatoes. Most of all (and very surprising for Italy), the coffee was terrible.

Loved the location close to station and hop on hop off bus stop. Meal in restaurant was good. Staff at breakfast were very friendly and remembered coffee orders which was impressive. We received a lovely Easter gift during our stay also. Loved the shower with many different options.

Stairs down to reception but porter button for them to collect bag. When we first arrived after a long travel day the security guard was a bit rude at the entrance when we asked him about our bags when we saw the large amount of stairs.

My favorite place to stay when I’m in Milan. Very comfortable location, staff at the reception is very helpful, atmosphere is nice and cozy.

Staff at the bar need some training on hospitality and service. We asked for grappa, we have been offered grappa in old fashion glass with ice. I asked for bottle of still water on the bar station, girl put in front of me the bottle but didn’t give me glasses. When I asked about glasses, she put infront of me 2 glasses. I offered her to help me with it as it was not comfortable to have and bottle and two glasses in my hands at the same time. Lack of attention to details. Linen in the room has to be replaced as it’s old and with holes.

The hotel is located right next to the train station, near a metro station. The rooms are large with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The breakfast is varied, with espresso and cappuccino available.

My bank account was authorized with the amount of 1000 euros above the cost of the stay due to an error in the hotel's system. After unblocking the amount, it turned out that the amount was 100 euros less and so I lost this amount.

The rooms and temperature was comfortable

Breakfast was the same 6 days in a row. The area around the hotel was not safe. My friend was nearly robbed by 4 girls. Had dinner at a restaurant 100m from the hotel. Bill came to 115 euros for just 2 bowls of pasta and 2 beers. Waiter then demanded another 10 euros tip even after giving him 5 euros. Was a bad experience.

We had some doubts about the location, but the hotel ended up being way above our expectations. Clean, modern, charming. We only stayed one night to visit friends while passing through Milan. It was extremely convenient being steps away from Milano Centrale train station. And we felt very safe, even late at night. We had two adjoining rooms which made traveling with young children much easier. The breakfast that was included was better quality than we expected and helped us save time to make our early morning train. We plan on staying here again in the future.

Consider expanding the gym. It was totally fine for a quick workout, but the room felt a bit claustrophobic for someone who maybe is staying for several nights. We did appreciate it though!

Hotel room was worth the money. We upgraded for 15 Euro more as we arrived early (10am) and staff was more than willing to accommodate. Also offered to store bags if we didn't like to upgrade. Room facilities were topnotch with high quality sheets, comfy bed, spacious washroom. I like the very friendly front desk and valet staff. Location is superb as it is just beside Milano Centrale. They even stored our bags after we checked out. Highly recommend this place!

This hotel was very close to the Milan central station, which was one of our main criteria considering we would be taking the train every day. The weekend we chose to visit in a very busy one with prices being very unreasonable but here the relationship price/value was still decent (we also booked many months in advance, which helped). The room was comfortable and the staff was very helpful.

Our room had a view to another building, which meant it was a dark room but at least it was quiet.

The convenient location, the bed was extremely comfy. The bathtub was a plus. Breakfast was extensive and delicious!! Very very good!

I just had a bad experience at the restaurant for dinner. We arrived, found a seat, they had just 3 tables taken, and no one came. The waiter then came to clean a table just beside us and again didn't even look at us. So I had to ask for the menu because my 2 yo daughter was getting impatient. We were hungry so we went with the spaghetti with tomate sauce to be quicker. It took at least 20min to arrive and the portion was so small 16 euros to leave still hungry. Very deceiving !
