The general decor was lovely. The bar area was nice and Blok restaurant had a cozy atmosphere. Breakfast was superb and had the ambiance of being in a grand family kitchen, with the chef cooking on the stove. We ate in Blok restaurant for sunday lunch and the food was great. The restaurant was closed on our other night so we got bar food which was excellent and we were glad we chose that over going out somewhere else. Our bedroom was large and comfortable although I would have preferred a walk in shower to a bath with shower above. All in all this was a fabulous hotel and we would recommend it to friends.

The bath with shower above seems a little old fashioned and a walk in shower would be more modern and more eco. There was a loud fan noise at night with the window open (possibly from the business next door)

Breakfast was amazing - a great option of healthy quality products on the chefs table and food made to order by the chef. The quality of produce and service were excellent - I often stay for business in a variety of hotels across wales and I hate a pre cooked buffet breakfast - so to have the type of bespoke service and quality of offer here was great! The rooms size and bedding were again generous and high quality finishing with the little special touches of decor making all the difference and setting this hotel apart from others. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere- serene relaxing and with style. Great spa facilities and the bar staff in the evening took the time to remember my drink from the previous evening - those small touches make you feel special and welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. The attentive staff certainly make a difference when your alone traveller for work.

Beautiful high quality hotel, a special place to stay if you're looking for a treat! Beautiful rooms, high end furnishings & bathrooms. Breakfast was fab & enjoyed 2 evening meals which were absolutely delicious. Staff in the dining rooms were exceptionally personable. Would love to return!

It was a shame that we couldn't use the spa because of time restrictions for hotel guests. It would appear that day visitors are given priority unless you are willing to pay an extra £25pp to use the outdoor heated pool. Location was slightly strange - it's a historic building now surrounded by a modern housing estate.

The facilities were lovely and the decor The brunch was nice and the staff there friendly The blok restaurant was stunning food and service Room comfortable and large for a double

The only thing we didn't like was the first welcome by reception on arrival. Receptionist wasn't friendly or informative wasn't shown around or advised of where things were . Was just told to head down a corridor for brunch . It was a very odd welcome both myself and my partner commented on this to each other when sat down .

The hotel is stunning but it's a shame all the houses have been built around it because they've lost all the beautiful views of the fields. The food was absolutely delicious, some of the best we've ever had & the staff were lovely. Gorgeously decorating for Christmas & the fires were roaring

The shower in our bedroom needed to be fully enclosed because it leaked when turned on to have a shower resulting in the bathroom floor being flooded., The room was cold, a draft coming from the bathroom window making the bathroom door into the bedroom bang so it has to be left open & a young girl on reception, although very pleasant, said she had no idea about local restaurants.... luckily we ate in the hotel but front of house staff should be the most knowledgeable people there. Also, why have we had to pay £25 per person for the outdoor pool experience when the indoor pool was cold & out of use for part of our stay?

It was beautiful, smelled gorgeous and very classy.

Having to rent the robes and slippers each after paying £190 per night. Only one accessible plug socket. Our room was opposite the staff outdoor utilities and the wooden door was swinging and banging in the wind all night. A soft close mechanism would have been resolved this. The pool was cold. The loungers/seating in the pool area was being reserved with used towels and robes by guests using the spa area but they didn’t use them during our time, but came back and took our towels regardless. No jacuzzi without paying £25 each to go outside. Otherwise lovely

Breakfast was lovely - its a really nice room so a lovely setting, warm welcome from staff, great selection of food and great quality hot breakfast. Amazing! Bedroom was also lovely - spacious and had every amenity I required. Spa area was absolutely amazing. Gorgeous setting. An indoor jacuzzi would have made it perfect, but I appreciate there is a vitality area outside (however this comes at an additional cost). WONDERFUL spa treatment. Room service was very good - delicious food and served very quickly on a large tray with everything I required.

The bar service was disappointing - I ordered what I can only describe as an obscenely expensive cup of tea whilst I sat in the bar area after checking out, before I had a spa treatment. I had to go to the bar to order, then wait for it to be made (it was very quiet and I felt the staff could have offered to bring it over to the table, but especially when paying so much). I had to do two trips to my table to carry the teapot, cup and my belonings. Then found there was no sugar on the table, so again had to get up. I just think this let you down - otherwise it was an almost exceptional stay and great value for money. Just a ridiculously priced cup of tea when no table service was being offered.

The property is fantastic! A great mix of flamboyant art with the old features of the manor house! Reception, bar and all other rooms were decorated perfectly and it created a warm, friendly but sophisticated feel. Service was brilliant and the suite we had was gorgeous! It was my sister’s birthday and everyone from the reception staff to the restaurant staff wished her a very happy birthday. She even had a handwritten card and a mini birthday cake left in the room!

I had been told that the location was slightly odd, with a housing estate built around the hotel. However this wasn’t a problem at all, as it wasn’t noisy or off putting in any way.
