I have found an absolute gem in this hotel. I arrived earlier than the stated check-in time, but the staff were so incredibly friendly and I spent time in the bar area having lunch whilst I waited for my room to be ready. The staff were so helpful, and even offered to carry my case upstairs for me as I was on my own. The room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful with advising me regarding local taxis (I was going into Cardiff to watch a concert at the Principality and am not local). The breakfast was beyond lovely - a real treat. I will definitely be back to stay here again - and will very much look forward to it. 5*+

Pretty much everything. Family owned and very professional and friendly. Very clean, lovely grounds, great breakfast. Staff attentive, helpful and friendly, including the night staff. Great pillows! Great nonslip floor in the bathroom.

Not much to dislike. It's next to but above the motorway but it won't stop you enjoying the gardens. Don't think there was a lift but the stairs are shallow so no struggle with my bags. The number 86 bus stops 200 metres down the road and there is bus stop right outside going to Caerphilly (14 mins) from where you can get a train back into Cardiff veery quickly.

Had a really lovely stay at this hotel. It’s in such a peaceful little spot, surrounded by trees and fields (even some sheep!), which makes it feel like a proper escape. The hotel itself is beautiful, well-kept, and super clean. The rooms are a great size, spotless, and have everything you need—tea and coffee facilities, an iron and board, and a really nice, spacious bathroom with a great shower. The dining room is elegant, and the whole place has a lot of charm. Breakfast was amazing—quality ingredients, including delicious Welsh bacon and sausages. There’s plenty of parking, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a really comfortable stay, and I’d definitely come back.

Only a couple of small things: a towel hook near the shower would be handy, the mattresses were a bit firmer than I’d like, and it would be nice to have a little welcome sheet in the room with info like breakfast times and the WiFi password.

The breakfast was nice. I enjoyed the full breakfast served on a nice hot plate. Nice to have the beans served in a separate pot. My room was spotless with a comfy bed and great shower. The WiFi was also good and I managed to get some work done. As the sun was out I also enjoyed sitting out in the garden which was very pleasant. The hotel and grounds were very well kempt. All of the staff were lovely. I would like to come and stay again.

Would have been nice to have the option of a plain yoghurt (fruit ones have too much sugar).

This hotel was a great find just on the edge of Cardiff. Transport links around the area were fantastic and we used the train service into Cardiff. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was very well cooked and the hotel catered for gluten-free without any issues. We ate at the hotel every night. The hotel was a perfect base to explore the surrounding area. Highly recommend this hotel.

The location is close to the motorway which can be heard, but the double glazing ensured a good night's sleep.

Just spent our anniversary weekend at the Hotel and Spa. Fabulous experience. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was great - a choice of four or five dishes per course (so, we tried most of them over the weekend) - but each was well prepared, tasty, and presented with flair. The spa was lovely and the treatments - a massage and a Total Glow-up - were relaxing and professional. An excellent few days and we’re already looking for an excuse to go again!

Wonderful hotel, highly accommodating and ready to serve. The hotel is easily accessible from the main road, but requires a little.navigation when coming from the M4. Ample car parking, with generous sized bays for all vehicle types. The venue has multiple entry points, due to access for the accommodation, function rooms and dining area. All parts found were clean and tidy, well maintained and cared for. The reception is inviting, built into a period building which gives it character and appeal. Service is instant, as the reception is manned 24hrs. The rooms are sizable, all with ensuite bathrooms and drinks facilities. Heating and cooling options available, as well as a TV and free WiFi access. Phone reception is good, with 5G connection possible. The food on site is wonderful, with the restaurant comfortably laid out and decorated with a modern outlay. The real charm and asset of the hotel is the staff, who are friendly and welcoming. Always with a smile, every request is met with great enthusiasm and service. It was not limited to the accommodation staff, the waiting staff were fantastically knowledgeable and willing to serve. I was most impressed with the Silver level service offered while dining, which made me feel well served. Since my last vist, the staff remembered me and some of my preferences, which made my visit exeptional. A wonderful experience all round, I will be coming back, even for leisure

I was very impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. The room and hotel were very clean and clearly cared for. Although the en-suite was not particularly large, the shower itself was a good size with rain shower unit. I ate in the restaurant on two of the evenings of my stay and was very impressed by the quality and presentation of the food. There was a good continental buffet selection and the hot breakfast was freshly cooked to a good standard. Although the hotel is close to the M4 the rooms are well insulated from traffic noise and I slept well. I would very happily stay here again if I was in the area and would certainly recommend it.

The bed, although I slept well, felt as though it will need updating soon. Maybe a bottle of water in the room would be a nice gesture.

Staff very helpfull and courteous. Breakfast was served from 7am, wanted to be away by that time. I went down early and they sorted me out with a cooked breakfast and was out by 7.05am. Ideal. Room was clean and tidy, nice and quiet even though the hotel seemed quite busy.

Looked at their evening meal menus, thought they were quite expensive for what was available. Cannot really comment on the quality of the food as I did not try it. Plenty of takeaways nearby at a fraction of the cost.

Our room was very clean add spotless. We stayed in room 1 this time and I much preferred it, to the last room we stayed in. The last room we stayed in which I think was room 3, was far too dark, especially when you’re trying to do your hair and make up and a bit on the cold side. Room 1 for us was exactly what we wanted.

Very clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar area could do with brightening up a bit as it felt very dark, a bit dingy.
