The hotel was clean, the staff were helpful, the location was as expected and parking was easy and plentiful.breackfast was always on time and the staff were awake during the night as every time I came in from my early morning smoke someone checked I was a guest so this made us feel very secure. Only £18 into Cardiff city center with Uber so made the location perfect for a weekend break too and close access to the M4 made a day trip out easy without fighting the traffic in the city

There was a plate outside the room next to us for 3 days this could have been lifted, there could be some outside seating as the weather was good it would have been nice to sit outside with a drink. The room was nice but only given 3 pillows in a double bed room as a minimum we would expect 4 pillows (this was sorted with a trip to reception). The room was also dark as there wasn't a big central light, and the lights didn't fully light the room.

No complaints really - we only stayed for one night but it was good for a quick stop. The bathroom was nicer than other comparable hotels (e.g. Travelodge etc), there was a nice big tiled shower rather than the attachment in the bath which you often get! Very easy to access by car. It's basically on a service station on the north eastern side of the city, which was super convenient for our purposes. The service station which was a short walk across the car park had a Starbucks and a Waitrose plus some other vendors, which was really handy for snacks and breakfast, rather than some motel-style places where you feel a bit stranded. Close to fast food joints as well. Check-in was super quick, especially as we checked in online first.

No specific issues

My husband and I were going to watch the rugby and were able to get checked in early which was a great start. Bedroom and bathroom were very clean. The female Receptionist who was working in the mornings on 23rd and 24th was exceptional. Shame I forgot to get her name. She works very hard & should be recognised for her efforts! Housekeeping team were very friendly too. I loved the pillows and the late night pizza we had before bed. Breakfast was great in the morning, big selection and all seemed very fresh. Lovely stay, thank you team!

The bedroom furniture was outdated and damaged in some areas and so in need of being replaced but this didn’t really impact our stay as we were out most of the evening.

Room bigger than I expcted. Services food (KFC, Starbucks, burgers etc) just 3 minutes away from hotel - but we recommend the Toby Carvery 6 minutes away, where you can a beer too! Ask staff for directions - pretty easy! Good self-service breakfast - - staff visible refilling containers continually. They take dogs! (Premier Inns don't, and Travellodge appear to have stopped hot breakfasts, just a cold fixed menu bag)

A toilet brush in the bathroom would have helped! Don't like leaving nasties for the chambermaids. No grass in hotel for dog - but we found a strip by the services so were OK.

Location off motorway is ideal for getting out and about. Large reception area . Rooms tidy, decor good, bathroom good size with walk in shower. Shower reasonably powerful.

The hotel is right next to the service petrol station. I read it was behind the services but expected further away, The room was located at the front and was warm so with the window open during evening/night it was noisy at times with trucks etc . I don’t expect home comforts but the twin bed mattress was solid on both beds, Local Toby Carvery nearby, stayed for two nights, didn’t want fast food from Services and Toby only really do roast dinners so limited food options unless you travelled. Hotel offered pizzas on site but didn’t get to see the quality.

Value for money, easy access, accessibility good- had a wet room which makes life easier for me. Staff were friendly.

Had to ask for pillows, room wasn't as clean as it could have been, beds were quite small and very hard, and wet room was a little old and tired (the light switch was inside the bathroom, some of the tiling etc was discoloured, the drain was quite slow and there wasn't an extractor fan) there was also a small hole in the ceiling in the main room, where the fire alarm had been moved and not mended sufficiently.

THE STAFF!!! Super nice and very accomidating. Vry impressed with how they dealt with an unreasonable customer at breakfast (frankly there was no pleasing her!) Remained polite and proffessional and in spite of how unreasonable her complaints were, still went to the effot of checking with us whether the breakfast was ok!

The bed felt a little too firm. However i admit this is likly more a preferance thing! There is no direct transport link which i wish i knoew prior to the visit, however I cant blame the venue for this!

The room and bed was more than adequate . It’s was good value for a one night stop over.

The soap dispenser above the sink was practically empty which meant you had to go to the shower dispenser to wash your hands. The TV remote could not be found, after going to reception the tv remote given still didn’t work, this meant another trip to reception where another remote and fresh batteries were given which solved the problem, this should have been checked before the room was rented out. The hot food was lukewarm which was a shame as there was a good selection.

It is conveniently situated for the M4 and my daughter

I , maybe mistakenly , got the feeling it is maybe being lined up to take migrants , we travel to see my daughter in Rhiwbina and a few hotels we use have already been requisitioned which is disgusting for the tourist industry in wales , so I sincerely hope the Cardiff Gate Ibis isn’t going that way , we have stayed there on numerous occasions and it was certainly busy this time

This is the first hotel I have ever stayed in where I haven't needed to take an antihistamine for my dust allergy. Though the hotel itself is a little dated in furniture and style what you may not see is how fantastic a job the cleaners do. I am so picky I ran a wet wipe all over the surfaces, bed frame etc, everything, and when I looked after it was still clean! The staff are also really friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location was great for me as I was working nearby, so it's more of a commuter hotel than a destination. Starbucks, KFC, Waitrose etc all opposite which was really convenient.

The plates breakfast was served on were extremely cold, which made the breakfast cold in a few minutes. The first breakfast that arrived was lukewarm and I had to send back to be reheated, resolved quickly, this is less of a problem when there are more than 10 guests having breakfast and the buffet is out. Warming plates is an easy win if are looking to improve.
