The staff were very welcoming,friendly,,checkin was quick and easy .There room was good ,bed very comfortable,our dogs were welcomed ,which was great for us travelling with our pets.

I don’t think you should have to pay for parking as extra charge ,if you are resident in the hotel.

Really lovely and attentive staff especially Pedro on reception at check in. He went over and above to try and help me with something. The restaurant staff were very pleasant too. I had a simple basic supper last night (salmon) but it was cooked to perfection, superb! Breakfast was equally good. Lovely bacon, really meaty and not salty at all. Over all style wise was a standard chain hotel for a fair price. Clean and comfortable, does what is says on tin! I will definitely return if needing a bed in this area. Please be advised this hotel isn’t really one for city exploring. It’s more for the business parks and/or near the M4. It’s close to suburban Cardiff. There are no external shops or restaurants to walk to etc. I knew this before my stay because I know the area. I wouldn’t book this based on a city break. Unless you’re happy to drive/bus in and out of the city. There’s no where really to walk outside either.

The property outside the main areas is quite dated. Typical bolt together style chain hotel, with extra bits modelled on over time. Typical chain, those soulless never ending corridors. Mugs way too small, had to keep getting up to make more tea as it was gone in a few swigs.

Great helpful reception staff ;bar & resturant good very clean modern decor hotel huge room with lovely bathroom and had everything you need a bit out of cardiff centre but easy to get a taxi in & out was perfect for us 👌 close to the motorway for travel in & out would love to be back if needed again; breakfast nice all hot & hardworking staff

Could hear through into other room as during the night some very noisy neighbours into the early hours would offer ear plugs to guests if needed too late though was woken in the early hours unfortunately could see it was a negative comment from other hotel guests as a comment ,this must be a good solution if people have experienced this hope the hotel can address as such a shame as a lovely hotel OK if you sleep heavy

Everything went well. I only had stayed here last October, and I was given the same room to stay in again. The location on the north side of the city is excellent if you are coming off the M4. The city centre is easily accessed by the Public Bus service and the cost is very reasonable. The food is good in the hotel and they serve a lovely pint. I was visiting Cardiff for the finals of the European Rugby competitions, and they were 2 great matches. Cardiff is a great venue for Rugby, as the city really welcomes you. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Mercure Cardiff North Hotel again and hope to return next year.

It was too short a visit.

Room was a good size, clean and functional. The shower is excellent and there are soaps and shampoo available. Breakfast was excellent although the top up could have been more readily available; for example, eggs, bacon etc.

This is not a complaint however, be aware the car park is not free and will cost you currently £10 per night. Being as there are few facilities in the area, I wonder why there is a charge for residents. Our future visits to Cardiff may be to places that do offer free parking.

Great price. Food was lovely, ate twice there. Restaurant staff very welcoming and knowledgeable. The hotel have a deal on with a local taxi company so able to get to the city for a flat rate of £13. Asked for an extra pillow and was given straight away. The only downside was the cleanliness. Saturday evening I went to reception and told them about some dog poo that was on the 3rd floor landing. I was told it would be sorted. However as we checked out early Sunday morning it was still there and hadn't been cleaned. Although there was that one issue, I would stay again.

Check-in experience was efficient and friendly. Room was of a good standard and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Good to have an opening window. It was nice to have a few items in the fridge and a coffee machine. Breakfast was good with a great choice. Bar staff and breakfast staff were very friendly.

It would have been nice to have had the coffee pods in the room replaced when they were used. Using Ubers to travel into the town and back was begining to get expensive - but I suppose we could have used a bus. Could have had a couple of spare pillows in the room - but as soon as we asked, 2 more were delivered.

The staff were excellent.. Good customer service and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were clean with good bath & shower and very comfortable beds with bed linen. Food in restaurant was excellent.. we gad a great picket pizza, chicken korma and chicken burger and onnthe morning a very good quality buffet breakfast with cereal, juices, tea, coffee, toast, yoghurt, fruit salad, & cooked breakfast gor £14.95.. best good we had had in z long time in a hotel. Moses on the bar and the check in staff on evening of 20th December were fabulous and the staff in the restaurant in the morning..thank you fir a great stay

Unusual open plan design which worked. The room was quiet and functional. The pillows were a bit on the small side!

Unfortunately, the room cleaner missed dirty glasses and bedside table after the first night. On the second night , there was a nasty and noisy altercation in the room 36 adjoining mine which woke me in the middle of the night. I would suggest that you consider giving advice to your night supervisor. When he knocked on my door shortly after the incident, he advised me that if I didn’t open the door, he would use his master key to gain access. I am 82 years old, on my own, and it’s the middle of the night. He should have used my name at least and why not telephone first? He obviously meant well but I did not like his approach.

Good location, friendly staff, any issue resolved very quickly. We booked a twin room & were given a double bed which the receptionist sorted.

Window in our room was slightly left open unable to close window due to a fault. Needs to be looked into. We were offered a complimentary drink if you filled out a form. My niece filled it and we were not given our drink? I was refused as I already used my email address when I stayed at mecure in Liverpool. I wasn’t offered a drink in Liverpool. I only have the one email address not sure a complimentary drink could have been offered as a nice welcome gesture from the hotel. I have worked in Hospitality.
