Very difficult to say just one thing we liked. From the moment we arrived we could see how charming it is. From the reception area, the big comfy/cosy lounge area, the decor, the restaurant area, the rooms were so charming/cosy, rustic chic. We were made to feel comfortable from the moment we arrived to the time we left. The grounds are lovely to go for walks, with trails alongside the property as well. The heated pool was very nice. The attention to detail at Luz Housed really stood out to us. Can't wait to find some time and go back.

The only thing we didn't appreciate as much was the menu and food for dinner. Menus don't have to be large but, considering how everything else was so thought out with typical portuguese rustic charm, the menu needs a little bit of that, in our opinion. The breakfast was lovely. It was more the dining experience which for us lacked, although the food presentation was lovely as well as the service.

What a beautiful hotel! The design is dreamy, and you can feel that every little detail was carefully thought of. We loved the design of both the room and the shared spaces, and the pool is absolutely stunning. The food at every meal was delicious (we especially loved the breakfast – wow!!!). And the staff – simply wonderful. They constantly went above and beyond to help with everything, always with a smile and so much patience for our kids. We will definitely come back. A truly magical place.

Nothing. Really a perfect place.

Location was very good. A beautiful property with grounds that invite contemplation and relaxation. The walks on the property are bordered by lavender and rosemary planted along the buildings. Together with the many well placed spots to sit and reflect they form an overall sensory treat. While the staff in the reception area were pleasant, with a welcome tea and cookies added at check in, the most solicitous staff members were those in the dining room, where each went out of their way to ensure the dining was a delicious experience. The food was exceptional - can’t say enough about the breakfast- the best and healthiest I’ve had in Portugal stay. Fruit, fresh baked goods, and more, with the staff even making note of my milk allergy. Dinner options need to be provided ahead of time and cost was a little steep.

While I appreciated the honoring of traditional architecture I found the room where I stayed a bit too dark and den-like. Unlike the common areas which were filled with light. Also a disappointment was the inability to get a massage or yoga/pilates session for lack of a person that Luz could schedule to come to the facility. I recommend letting travelers know that they should book these in advance since there is no spa on site and those providing the services have to come to the property.

The choice of cereals, fruit, cheeses, meat, bread, jams, fruit juices and fruit was exceptional. We really got into liking the passionfruit and other exotic fruits on offer AND this was just breakfast. We tried both their lunch and evening menu's and the quality and presentation of the food although extremely good. The pool was well heated and clean and I tried the spa treatments which were excellent.

The room and amenities were excellent. The breakfasts were exceptional..probably the best we had at our 2 weeks of 5 star hotels.

The dinner was ok…the food was original and fresh ingredients, but the veal was very overcooked and chewy. The desert was not so good. Service at breakfast both mornings was extremely slow. Another server is needed at breakfast. At a minimum, immediate coffee should be availble for all guests. We shouldn’t have to wait 10-15 minutes for coffee each morning.

Stayed in a room with tub, very comfortable. Amazing tub and bed blanket. Spacious room, slippers and bathrobes provided. Great breakfast. Very close to Fatima city center (15min walk) still it’s quiet.

Not having the heated pool available, not having free bikes. Bit cold floor in the bedroom (concrete), could have more rugs to help compensate. Didn’t love some decoration details (bit cheesy) but that’s very subjective.

The whole facility was a like a hidden gem. The rooms were very private, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was divine and staff was outstanding. We didn't fully understand how wonderful this place was when we booked it and we will stay longer the next time we visit Fatima. I will recommend it highly to all of our friends.

The property is really charming I should say. We love the room and it’s very clean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The staff had been most helpful and we appreciate the service that was extended to us.

The bed, however, is not level so it may need changing or mattress rotation. Food was good but they are really in small portions. Having to order ahead for each meal is quite inconvenient.

Our stay was fantastic from the beginning to the end. Very special touches at every turn. The staff were delightful and made sure we were happy at all times. The rooms were delightful and quiet and the grounds were beautiful. We ate both dinners there and the food and service was as good as most Michelin restaurants. The chef even came to the table and chatted with us.

It’s perfect for calming stay, the hotel is beyond beautiful.

It's completely misleading — both the website and booking say there's a heated outdoor pool, but it's actually cold and not heated at all. It's not fair to advertise something that's simply not true.
