The owner and his family made us feel at home and showed us round the property. They offered information about the local area and possible things to do the area, which was helpful. The guesthouse is an old building but immaculately maintained with interesting decor. We had a first floor room with a high ceiling and it was spacious. Crucially for this summer time of year it had air conditioning which enabled us to sleep fine during the hot nights. The bathroom was a good size and high quality. The swimming pool was just right for us and we spent an hour each day swimming and cooling down. Breakfast was great.

The people were very friendly, and the guest house was beautiful and clean. The family room was much bigger than what we suspect. There was private parking and a beautiful pool area. Overall, we loved the guest house and will definitely use them again if we have to stay over in Swellendam again.

Aircons or extra fans would have been nice it was very hot, but at least there was a ceiling fan in the one room. There was also a bit of a smell in the room but not that bad that you cannot life with it.

A beautiful property, lovingly presented..the guest house was a very classy place to stay. The attention to detail was appreciated and made our stay a unique experience. The pool area made for a delightfully relaxing evening and the front terrace was a superb location for breakfast. Little touches like flowers to adorn the breakfast table and insect repellent in the rooms were thoughtful. We enjoyed a wonderfully peaceful stay and felt pampered. The gardens were sublime.

Spacious and pretty room with all we needed for the night. Nice outside area with a swimming pool (better than pictures). Centrally located at walking distance from stores and nice restaurants. Host Etienne gave us a few tips for the rest of our trip and they all turned out to be beautiful! Only 'downside' was that we had to call upon arrival (which wasn't really an option) but luckily there was someone to let us in and show the room anyway!

Beautiful guest house set back from the road with lovely gardens. Room was much larger than expected with great furnishings. Comfortable beds (there were two in the room - one large, one small). Ensuite bathroom and shower with good water pressure and temperature. Enjoyed the English breakfast. The owners were very helpful with tips/suggestions on where to visit nearby/on my travels. Exceeded my expectations!

Our family suite was very spacious and fully equipped. The beds were fitted with electric blankets too. The common spaces were beautifully appointed and we loved lounging by the pool. The location is within walking distance to supermarkets and restaurants, and only 5 mins drive to Marloth nature reserve. The hosts were generous and thoughtful, gave us many good recommendations on the neighborhood.

Lovely room, spotless bedding and towels, under roof parking, big bed, big shower. There is a cosy lounge with a fireplace in the main house where one could watch TV or just read and relax. The host is top notch. A special breakfast is available as an extra.

Although there was a wall panel that was on, we were there on one of the coldest nights of the year. The room was cold. The electric blanket was lovely when we got into bed though

A very warm welcome from Etienne who proved a fount of knowledge and suggestions. The room was comfortable and uniquely furnished. The easily accessable Cyprus's Cottage is very centrally located on the main street and close to several restaurants. The excellent breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the beautiful front garden. Comfortable sitting room for guests. Secure private parking.

Regretted that I only booked one night. The area has a lot to offer.

We were able to drop our bags and go for lunch in Swellendam the pool was lovely after walking round the museum in the heat spacious room the owners and their dog were friendly and helpful

be aware the main street in Swellendam isn't attractive - but if you come out of the guest house and turn left then that area is much prettier with lovely places to eat

Warm welcome from Etienne, very genial and a great source of local information. Went out of his way to provide a list of places to see on the next part of our journey. Lovely old building set in lush picturesque garden. Well situated in the town, close to local restaurants. Well appointed comfortable rooms.

The in-room fridge was noisy.
