Everything- location, friendly staff, excellent menu choice in the restaurants, child friendly recreation centre, lots of activities for all age groups including yoga, ayurvedic massage centre, Vembanad Lake boat rides. excellent informative eco-tour within the resort. Everyone were totally committed. We were accompanied by 2 members of the family who were on their first India visit- our daughter-in-law and grandson who were not used to the local spice and heat. The staff and the excellent chefs tailored and tweaked to suit their palates. They also learnt some Malayalam in the process! The swimming pool was very welcome.

The bathroom recreated in the old ancestral design with a partially open roof at one corner did make the floor wet due to the moisture, currently worse because of the monsoon rains. The bathroom mirror was misted during the duration of our stay. I must stress, this is a comment not a criticism. We have friends who are disabled and wished to know whether we would recommend this place. This place would not be suitable for them.

We stayed at Coconut Lagoon for three nights, and were struck by the beauty, authenticity and charm of this wonderful resort-village. We were amazed by the traditional architecture of the houses that compose the village and the very elegant rooms, perfect for a romantic stay. We did multiple activities offered by Coconut Lagoon, such as: boat tours, bird watching, kayaking, yoga/meditation and Ayurvedic massages and many more. The staff was wonderful and always ready to assist us and take care of our every need. The restaurants offer a variety of delicious food, very fresh and of good quality. The price is, however, on the higher end. The whole experience was fantastic. Furthermore, we want to specially thank the staff of the resort, specifically Tijo Thomas, who helped me orchestrate my wedding proposal to my current fiancé. The setting was perfect, and the whole sequence and needs of the proposal were perfectly met. Constance and George from Switzerland

The restaurant food as well as the massages of the center are slightly pricey.

The location was good the staff were friendly.. Which make the difference....i would give 11 on 10 for the staff Not one person I met was not. Friendly and welcoming..... The sunset boat cruise was amazing.... The buffet dinner and lunch was awesome and too good. Variety for everyone...... Would go back...

A lot of people may not agree but I would still prefer a TV in the room. Which they do not have however they have a TV room which is common. Also a lot of Frogs, mosquitoes and other insects in the rooms.. Pest control atleast for inside room needs to be re looked at.. With a child it gets difficult to have lizards and frogs on your door and walls scares children.

The beautiful view of the lake and the backwaters, the entry till the lobby through the boat and the really good staff at the restaurant! It's really amazing how they have preserved and cherished the old kerela homes! Such an amazing concept and delivery!

The front desk / reception staff aren't exactly welcoming. They started asking us about check out time and all within a couple of hours of our check in. They weren't friendly in general which is quite sad because it's such a beautiful place and the stay was disrupted with that kind of behaviour.

Absolutely blown away by the location, the facilities and activities but mainly by the outstanding staff. Special mention to the gentleman who led the nature excursions. We didn't know nature walks, yoga, meditation, pottery, basket weaving, afternoon tea etc were included in room rate when we booked so an added bonus to join the 7am walk spotting birds and even water snakes. The guide was so patient and knowledgeable with us. The guy who did the kayaking was also great and helpful. Only wish more guests had watched the dancers in the evening and appreciated them .Couldn't fault any member of staff. All so kind, chatty and helpful. Would love to have stayed longer to explore the area and other activities on offer. The heritage room over 2 floors were spacious and comfy with great air-conditioning. The breakfast buffet and to order was large,varied and delicious.

Food and alcohol in the evening was quite expensive but cooking was varied and excellent.

Our stay at the Coconut Lagoon was nothing short of exceptional. The room was spacious, comfortable and offered breathtaking views of the lake and along with the private pool, it made for a perfect escape. The food was exquisite with every meal surpassing expectations (make sure to eat at both their restaurants and don't forget the yummy tea & snacks from the lady in the canoe!). The hospitality was immpecable - warm, attentive and made us feel right at home. I would like to call out Mr. Dinesh who is the manager at the property who spent a great deal of time talking to us about the property, the surrounding areas, the philosophy behind the food, his travel experiences - every conversation with him was eye-opening. Thank you Mr. Dinesh for everything you did for us. It wouldn't be fair if I did not call out Mr. Thomas who works at the restaurant - he is forever smiling, attentive and helpful and we noticed this through every single meal that we had over the 4 days at the property - you're a star Thomas! Thank you. In conclusion - I highly recommend this property for anyone looking to just get away from it all and chill!

The fact that we had to leave!

Beautiful lake and lagoon views property, off the beaten path so was an amazing destination for tranquility and peace if you’re looking for that. It’s a self sustaining property, you’ll have everything you need here. There are boat rides and walks around the property the Kumarakom bird sanctuary is right next door. The staff here is exceptional and they really took care of us. F&B manager Dinesh and his lovely team were always attentive and giving us recommendations and always serving and greeting you with a smile. We had a great Ayurvedic massage at their property. We stayed in the private pool villas and our back yard was a beautiful pond with lilies and birds. The front veranda opened out to lake Vembanad, certainly a memorable stay.

Not much to dislike.

The property is beautiful and peaceful with the sounds of birds chirping and the water flowing past. We loved in particular the lovely staff and the activities available on site. We travelled with an 18 month old, and while there aren’t babysitting or playground type resources for young kids, the nature itself was exciting for our daughter and the staff treated her with such kindness, with flexible earlier meals for her too. We loved our stay and would highly recommend!

We stayed in the private pool villa, the experience was just magical. It was the best hotel I ever stayed in by far. Trees, birds, butterflies and bats... You will be surrounded by wild exotic birds and palm squirrels singing. Don't miss 7:00AM birdwatching. This is honestly a birders' heaven.

There was a security guy at the butterfly garden, he approached us and demanded money when we tried to go to the restaurant. It was very scary. The seafood restaurant was good, but the regular restaurant's service was slow. We ordered an omelet, and got uncooked eggs after waiting for 30 minutes. Most staff was nice and friendly though.

Excellent location on the backwaters, the entire land scape, butterfly garden, the hamoccks were a treat

The taste of ffod needs to be improved a lot Was disappointed on the food front. Alkso considering that the hotel caters to a foreigners and the target guets who are speak by and large English, the resort needs to focsu tos ee that the staff also proficient in understanding and speaking Engllish ( especially when we went to the bar, the 3rd person was the one with whom we had good commuincation )
