Completely helpful and friendly staff. The location is superb and parking was plentiful for the annexe area. The interior of the hotel: reception, bar, restaurant area, was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the atmosphere was, calm, warm and inviting. I had breakfast only as I was visiting family in the area. The breakfast was substantial and catered for all needs. The hotel really is dog friendly and that added to the magic of my stay. Knaresborough is a charming market town in North Yorkshire, with lots of individual bars, restaurants, pubs, a river, a castle and some wonderful walks.

My room, 029, had a noisy door seal that rattled all night - apart from that it had all I needed. The shower door did come off its wheels but maintenance came to fix it.

Its location was great, and the the facilities were wonderful. The staff were attentive and worked hard. As the weather is warm they put a fan in the room which was helpful.

I can’t say there was anything I didn’t like. The car park was busy as it was a weekend and we literally got the last spot on two occasions. Maybe there should be a designated space for motor bikes so they don’t take up a full space and also the skip was in a parking spot as well. A couple of cars were not parked straight and maybe if they could have been contacted to straighten up , extra spots would have been available.

The breakfast was adequate, I'm not a fan of anything pre cooked, would rather have it cooked fresh even if it meant a longer wait. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely. Bed very comfortable. Enjoyed relaxing in the garden. The location was perfect for everything we had planned to see.

The communication about servicing rooms wasn't the best. Told on arrival it was daily, but then found when it wasn't done you are supposed to say at breakfast, but we weren't asked. However the lovely housekeeping lady put us in the picture while she changed the towels when we raised the issue with her. Very very disappointed to find that despite the web site stating it's a spa hotel there is actually no swimming pool and apparently hadn't been for some time. The pool facilities where my main reason for choosing the hotel, time for the web site to be updated without a doubt. More honest advertising please.

All staff really friendly and worked very hard. Always smiling and trying to help. However there were long queues to order food/drinks at the bar and a very long wait before the food actually arrived. Staff were very apologetic and we were given a complimentary bottle of wine as we had had to wait for over an hour for our food. Breakfast was chaotic on our first morning with no eggs and coffee running out as soon as it was made. The toaster wasn’t good as bread had to be put through twice to get it toasted. That being said, it was a really nice place to stay and the staff tried very hard.

The room had not been fully checked as we found a pair of glass As the room was no 3 we had people leaving the pub standing and talking close to the window late. Think a sign would be a good idea to tell people to respect guests in these areas Disappointed was no alien cerial on breakfast there use to be. But breakfast as always great staff where excellent But reception was having issues with the app trying to put on people's free drinks for giving up room service One lady was waiting in front of me walked of after 10 minutes I was 15 minutes and just wanted a recommendation for a taxi company. But will be back

Great location, a few minutes walk from the train station. Friendly and helpful staff, quick to help with some towels for my room. I enjoyed dinner and breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. I was able to leave my luggage for a while after checking out.

The single room I had was next to an air filtration outlet by the window, so until 11pm and from 6.30am I was blasted with noise and slightly oily smells. This could be fixed by soundproofed and double glazed windows, but perhaps they’re not permitted to fit them on the property.

The staff were very friendly, making it a lovely atmosphere. Actually spent time to chat with us that made us feel like one of the locals. The food and draft beers were good value for money. Walking distance to the places where we wanted to visit, mother Shiptons cave, town centre, river, castle etc. Room was clean, tidy. Plenty of milk pots and decent size mugs for a cuppa, the Ringtons tea, coffee and biscuits were extra nice. Thought of everything to place in the room for a traveller to make it comfortable. The bed was comfy and clean as well.

We stayed in a small building, away from the the hotel. This was good because we had 2 small dogs with us and plenty of space for their beds and food and water bowls. What I didn't like was that it was dark, cold and had a damp feel to it. The outside door had a gap, wouldn't be good in the winter months. It was also near a very busy road, quite noisy. Ok for one night stay, wouldn't like to stay in that particular building longer.

I recently stayed for two nights at The Knaresborough Inn as a solo traveller in my 50s, and it was an absolutely lovely experience. From the moment I arrived, every member of staff – from front of house to the ladies who looked after my room – were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The food was very good, and the whole atmosphere of the inn made me feel very comfortable and at home. A special mention goes to a young man named Lewis, who made my stay particularly pleasant. His professionalism and friendliness are a real credit both to his family and to the hotel – he really went above and beyond. I can’t wait to return to The Knaresborough Inn and am excited to try other destinations within The Inn Collection Group. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The windows in my ground floor room did not seem to lock in the open position. A small thing but I always sleep with the windows open

Although the temperatures were below zero our annex room across the car park was warm and cosy. The breakfasts were very good in the main hotel restaurant. We didn't need our room cleaned everyday which meant we were given a free drink voucher, each day. We had two evening meals which were both excellent, chosen from a good-sized menu. It is a short walk to Knaresborough station with trains every 30 minutes to either York or Leeds, so we could leave the car for the day and enjoying eating and drinking out. Kevin was an absolute star helping us to clear ice off our car, the day we departed. Thank you

Christmas decorations were lovely in the restaurant but together with Chtistmas music in mid-Nov. too early for us!
