This hotel has excellent service - consistent and genuine dedication to their guests. Congratulations. You leave this place with new friends. Joy an awesome manager, Warren, Leo at reception, my favourites Sarah and Jake, and Lily and Mark the room concierges. Truly amazing people. I felt good here. The location is brilliant, one street from everywhere. Good to see Thomas the General Manager walking the floor. All so impressive. Other hotels should come here to learn.

A place a part, I would review the use of bouncy music at breakfast. I loathe background sound at the best of times, the choice here and the sound level definitely needs adjusting. One doesn't want a headache at breakfast. Luckily the warm smiles of Sarah and Jake always put me in a good mood.

In a great area and the breakfast was wonderful, especially the coffee and pastries. On arrival we had fruits in the room and the mini bar also got restocked with daily drinks. The staff were very helpful, even helped book a restaurant we wanted to go to. A lovely stay that I would come back to!

Honestly loved everything! One request we had to make daily was for the housekeeping to come a bit later, they came to clean the room at 8:30 each morning while we were still getting ready to head out. Not a bad thing, but if we had to choose something to be improved, would ask that they do cleaning after breakfast so you don’t feel rushed. They also came to give you tea at turn down service, but no one warned us and it was already quite late, so a heads up could be helpful.

I always select the Sukhothai when I stay in Shanghai. Comfortable, well equipped, super clean and modern rooms. The staff is helpful, service oriented and absolutely smiling. The hotel is very well located in Shanghai down-town, not far away from Nanjing road. Good restaurants at the hotel.

The wifi connection is not seamless and stable but this is often the case in China, difficult to connect and access. The communication in English remains sometimes challenging with some people from the staff.

The whole experience was phenomenal. The hotel design was very impressive and the hotel staff were very warm and kind. The check-in was seamless and very helpful (as I checked in early and they brought in my luggage for me) and the facilities were very nice (the let you borrow a swim cap if your forgot but you need your own goggles). The breakfast was phenomenal with variety and great quality. The room was stellar with excellent features and beautifully appointed, all for a great value. Highly recommended.

I wish there was more lounge space for guest to relax during the check-in or to just relax, but this a really minor point.

We had an impeccable experience at Sukhothai Hotel. Without a doubt, it will be our top choice for accommodation on our next trip to Shanghai! While a few guests voiced concerns about the breakfast buffet in their reviews, I found the array of choices to be delightful. Although it may not boast the extensive variety like some other hotels, the selection was more than sufficient for our family. Each dish was delicious and made with fresh ingredients.

Modern interiors, amenities and fixtures. Huge, beautiful rooms. The mall across it is well connected to the rest of Shanghai metro and is near to a hip neighborhood. Wonderful, proactive staff. Very well thought-out guest experience which elevated our stay. They have a pillow menu <3. Aside from the air-conditioning, it's very quiet in the rooms. Frankly, this exceeded our expectations which will be hard to match in my future stays.

The signs on the lift landings could be more visible, we kept turning the wrong way just because the the font they used in their sign was narrow and shiny. Perhaps they could put up artwork or a small furniture on one of the sides to make it easier to find our bearings but that’s about it lol.

10/10 – A Hidden Gem in the Heart of the City Absolutely blown away by this beautiful hotel. Stunning architecture, elegant rooms, peaceful pool, and top-notch service. The location is perfect—quiet yet connected directly to a mall. In 30 years of visiting China, this is the best hotel I’ve stayed at. Only two exist in Asia; this one is truly special. Highly recommended!

Nice hotel in a pleasant part of Shanghai. The styling of the lobby, pool and rooms is well done. The spacious shower is very comfortable. Attention has also been paid to details such as soap, hand lotion and shampoo (Grown Alchemist). And in the evening tea was brought to the room. There is a nice mix of visitors, both families, couples, and business travelers. The desk staff helped us a lot when we wanted to know where we could buy a Chinese SIM card upon arrival.

Beautiful property with state of the art interior design. The room's soft lighting creates a warm, cozy and inviting atmosphere. I, especially enjoyed soaking in the oversized bathtub while listening to my classical music & sipping wine.

Breakfast is boring - not value for money! Do not walk barefoot in the pool area - the floor is extremely slippery.

The room was beautiful and spacious, the lobby was lovely as well. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is close to a nice shopping centre as well as the metro station so easy and convenient to travel around the city

Valet staff were not very helpful as we wanted to call a taxi but they either turned taxis away or deliberately avoided speaking to us. Otherwise, no complaints and would not hesitate to come back.
