The staff was without exception wonderful and always helpful and pleasant. The rooms were super clean and everything worked and had the amenities one needed (coffee maker, fridge, iron). Coffee and tea were also in the lobby which had furniture and tables to work at. It's about a 20 minute walk to Tulane campus and a couple blocks north of Freret street with so many places to eat, drink and hang out. Rook coffee shop opens at 5:30 in the morning if you are an early riser and it's a cool place to hang and work on a laptop. Free parking at the hotel!
Hard to help, but the balconies didn't have any furniture to sit on and the AC exhaust/fan ( I THINK it was the AC exhaust/fan) takes up a chunk of the balcony. They are built for stepping out for a quick glance around or some fresh air, but not to linger on.

Big nice clean comfortable room with everything you need, microwave, mini refrigerator two sinks and two countertops. Sofa and balcony. AC worked great and comfortable bed with five or six pillows. Small area carpet around the bed and the rest of the floor vinyl which made it nice for us because we had two small dogs and we were able to cover all of the carpet with vinyl runners that we travel with to make sure there were no accidents. parking is free and easy and the hotel is only a couple of blocks away from Freret St which has numerous restaurants, bars, and a Rouses supermarket. Easy drive down Napoleon to get to magazine Street. Staff was helpful. I had recent back surgery and the attendant was able to unload my vehicle and bring our belongings to the room which is four star treatment. The pool was well maintained and a nice secure green area in the rear for lounging outside. Very spacious.
Nothing. It exceeded my needs and expectations.

It was really a place to sleep and rest. The staff was very polite and courteous. Location was great.
Bathroom door did not lock. Not enough light in the room. The electrical outlets were loose so we had to use the wall outlets in order to charge our phones. No way to access netfilx our other streaming engines. No continental breakfast for the price you pay. Bummer

Cost, service, area information, staff.
Continental breakfast would be nice. But there were a few good restaurants close, so not really a big deal.

Pleasantly surprised with our stay. We didn't know what to expect when reserving a room but when we checked-in we were very happy with our choice. We got the top floor as requested and the room was spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was large, which is becoming rare with newer hotels. I also enjoyed the architectural theme and interior design - very cool indeed - and the staff was very professional, pleasant and helpful. Parking is also free, which is a HUGH plus when staying in N.O. I would stay again when back in New Orleans.
The only downside was no breakfast offered with stay. Not a big deal if already known prior to your stay but there is a food market just down the street that's great for food and drinks to leave in the room and refrigerator.

The room was well furnished and contained everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The furnishings were modern contemporary with a King Size bed, small sofa, coffee table and wall mounted flat screen TV. In addition, there was a coffee maker, small fridge, micro range, iron and ironing board. There was free parking, and the location was within walking distance to a variety cafe's and restaurants on nearby Freret Street. The guest staff was friendly and helpful. There was even a courtyard sitting area with an outdoor pool.
A small wall mounted mirror would've been a nice addition to help with my daily shaving routine. Otherwise, it was a great stay.

Great location of the hotel in a safe and quiet area, bus stop in short walking distance, super friendly staff, spacious room and beds, very clean and the safe inside the room for free. Actually, there IS a pool, even though it doesn't say in the description. So, sadly, we didn't bring swimming attire :-(
Deducted points for • loose charging plugs (the cable keeps coming out, so the device wouldn't charge) • door of shower wouldn't close properly, so water floods into the bathroom • no chairs on the balcony • no water kettle to boil water for tea

This is our 2nd time staying here at the Alder Hotel and we truly enjoyed everything about it! We absolutely love it! We get a king balcony room. The staff is amazing! It's close to some fantastic restaurants, within walking distance. It's always clean! The pool is also clean. We definitely recommend it!!!! It's updated. Big walk-in shower! The water gets really hot! Kurege for coffee/tea! Desk area! Mini fridge and microwave. Plenty of areas to plug things in and charge whatever you may need to charge (phone, laptop, etc). Comfortable bed and pillows. No bed bugs!!! Or any other bugs for that matter!!!! There's a safe to lock valuables in in the room! Big flatscreen TV. The AC works great! It's perfect!!! Oh, and parking is included. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We love everything about it!

Having a free parking place was very comforting. There was no breakfast but coffee and tea was served at the lobby, and there are nice places to eat nearby, at five minute walking . The internet was super. We went to the center by bus once, but the second day found parking at the center, 20$ for nine hours ( not the one which was 75$ for I don't know how much time!!!) which was enough time to enjoy the beautiful downtown streets on foot.

Location was perfect. Didn't want to be in the center of noisy tourist area but close enough to be able to enjoy tourist sites. Also the area was safe and quiet so we could rest after being out all day. Rooms were spacious and comfortable.
The only downside was shower leaked water into the floor by the toilet. Also the coffee kurig didn't work- spit coffee grounds and hot water all over the table. But all else was good.
