Settlers Boutique Motel had excellent facilities! They even provided free towels for the local thermal hot springs as well as free washer and dryer access. The little apartment was very clean and well set up for our family. They provided a free cot for our baby. The service was excellent! They were incredibly friendly and helpful in giving recommendations for local food.

The mattress in the cot was slightly too small and the baby slid down the edge. Our 10 month old was ok, but that might not be safe for younger babies. I rolled up a blanket and filled up the gap and we had no more issues.

The staff were welcoming upon arrival and during our stay. We were offered towels to use at the thermsl pools, which were a short walk away. Restaurants, bar and shopping are all within a short walking distance. The room felt very cosy with high-end linen and towels. Also loved that our room had a ceiling fan.

The room was a little dark. There was a planned power outage from 7am to 5pm, which meant no hot water for a morning shower, which was out of managements control. However, out of courtesy guest could have been advised before their arrival.

Honestly, I've been staying at a lot of "5 star" hotels and motels around New Zealand on this latest road trip, but this is the first place I really thought deserved 5 stars. Given the state of the other places, I would say this place was 7 or 8 stars. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The bed was phenomenal. After a long night of soaking in the hot springs I came back and just instantly fell asleep in the bed. The owner was wonderful as well. Overall, SSS+++ experience.

N/A. I wish there was something to even nitpick. Maybe the only thing is that she left dark chocolate rather than light chocolate for the bed, but honestly that just made my mom happier LOL!

Loved how cosy the room felt achieved by the bedding and decor. I appreciated the attention to detail put into the space. It had everything we needed for our two-night stay. We were impressed that they offered a Netflix sign-in on the TV along with a wide range of DVDs available at reception. It was also super handy that they had beach towels for the hot pools. The motel is an easy walking distance to most destinations in Hanmer.

I would suggest that the shower heads be updated as the water pressure wasn't the best.

We had an apartment with 2 bedrooms which was nicely decorated. We had a great sense of welcome from the host. The apartment was very clean. There was a lot of emphasis on internal details that made us feel welcome. For example, cushions arrangement at the living room and bed rooms, small chocolates for the guests. It gave us a great sense of comfort.

The laundry area could perhaps extend to 7 pm instead of locking at 6 pm.

The rooms were beautiful. As soon as we walked in it felt like home. Very clean and cozy. The beds were really comfy. Loved the balcony. Would love to go back in the winter the view would be spectatular. Parking was easy. Added bonus of the use of washing machine and dryer for no extra charge. Owners were really friendly and helpful. Location was really close to shops/cafes etc.

Best place we have stayed in Hanmer by far. So many nice little touches like gladwrap in the kitchen drawer and bandaids in the bathroom. Everything was clean and tidy and the complimentary towels for the pools is such an unexpected bonus. Also Smart TV in the room with Sky Channels and a cute DVD selection in the office. Owners were also so lovely and friendly.

Not really much to say here as we loved our stay so much. I personally found the bed slightly uncomfortable but my partner loved. You'll never be able to get it right for everyone in that area.

Sometimes it can be a bit hit and miss when booking a room online, however everything about this boutique motel was above and beyond, there were daily towels available especially for going to the Springs, I also loved that it was within walking distance to the Hot springs, shops and resturants.

There was noithing to dislike

Fabulous accommodation. The owners were delightful, warm and friendly. The location is perfect, off the main drag but walkable to everything you need. Lovely little features elevates this hotel above others, such as free towels to use at the hot springs, little welcome chocolate, fresh milk in the fridge, and overall just well-appointed. I highly recommend staying here.

The room was exceptionally clean, bed super comfy. We had cooking facilities in our room - everything you needed to cook was provided right down to fresh milk for your coffee. They have a cat - Willow, loves a belly rub!

If you are staying in an upstairs room in summer, there is no shade on the balconies and it gets very hot.
