Having seperate chalets was nice and kept noise from others to a minimum. It was a 10 minute walk into town and the staff were friendly and helpful. They brought a container of fresh towels and consumables on the second day and we just placed our dirty towels back in the container and it was taken away so no one had to access our unit.

The appliances were all very old but they functioned ok. The LCD screen on the heater in the master bedroom was a bit hard to work out. The biggest issue we had was the condensation on the outside walls. I had some clothes against the bedroom wall and in the morning they were soaked. Otherwise was an enjoyable stay.

We enjoyed our stay here, the unit was clean and tidy and the facilities were good. It was spacious and comfortable and close to everything we needed. The location was great.

I didn't appreciate the owner's rudeness towards me when I asked him where to dispose of my rubbish responsibly. He indicated that there were rubbish bins outside of my unit and that I should already be aware of this. He appeared annoyed that I should ask and his demeanour was brash. The rubbish bins were out of view and around the side of the unit. I wasn't told they were there upon arrival so I felt his attitude towards me was unwarranted.

Great spot! Nice and close to town and the hot springs. The site has wonderful facilities, including laundry and a trampoline and swing for the kids. There is a playground 3 minutes walk from the property. The cabins are quaint and equipped with everything you need. Adequate heating. Owners friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We stayed 4 nights and felt that was the perfect amount of time to explore the town and surrounds. Hamner Springs is a tourist town but doesn’t feel like a tourist trap. Great food and service had everywhere.

Beds were firm. But everyone else in the family didn’t mind that.

Beyond happy. The facilities are PERFECT for your needs. I cant believe how cute the seperate "little houses" are. Am already planning on re booking and bringing more family with me. Being able to have your own house spaced out on a gorgeous property is so cool. I adored this place. Silence at night, view from room 4 is stunnnnnning. And the glorious owner jump started our car when we went to leave and had a flat battery ! Could have cried I was so relieved. Such a great place. This is my 3rd trip to Hanmer and 3rd property Ive stayed at and this is my favourite. Extremely great value for the money.

Wanted to stay longer :) maybe a poofy mattress topper could be added but I have absolutely zero complaints I want to come back :)

The beautiful wooden chalets were set apart from each other, and it was so quiet. Thousands of stars were visible. The beds were exactly right, and we had 2 bedrooms. The bathroom was prima. The proprietors didn't enter the Chalets as privacy is their motto. On the second day, a box with clean towels etc was ieft at the door.The information map was clear, and WiFi was free. It was under 15 minutes walking to the Hotpools and the town centre. In one word; EXCELLENT. We will be back!!

Everything was perfect for us.

The Chalet was lovely and perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed. Nice living and kitchen area. Fresh towels. Lots of channels on the TV to choose from. Comfy Beds. Clean Sheets. All the utensils you need for cooking in the kitchen. Nice friendly staff. Nice and quiet.

The Wi-Fi (internet) didn't work while we were there. It connected initially then stopped. Not a big deal though. On another note it would have been nice to have some board games in the Chalet. Not sure if they had them at reception (they did have books and DVD's we noticed on display when we checked in) but it was after hours when we realised it would have been nice to have something available and play a game but we didn't want to bother the staff.

Perfect size, well equipped kitchen, clean, good parking. Plus the fact the chalet’s are spread out meant we didn’t have to be too worried about noise. Couldn’t recommend a better place for the trip with friends I was having.

There was a mark in the shower, and bugs on the bathroom ceiling but that is really minor stuff. Would prefer there to be a deadbolt on the door for a little extra security. Also could be handy to have a rubber scraper in the kitchen for cooking. The only real feedback is that the curtains let in way too much light and woke us up really early. And the mattress’ were quite firm. Overall these are really minor things though.

Short 2 night stay. Had everything we wanted or needed for our stay. Close to Thermal Pools. 2 sisters staying in 2 bedroom unit. I believe with a double and 2 singles would have slept 4 but would have been crowded at that. Electric blankets on all the beds and wall heaters in each room which we used constantly along with the extra blankets in the wardrobe. Though we only cooked brunches appeared well stocked with everything a basic kitchen would need and sufficient dishes for 4. Salt and pepper shakers stocked and full flowing hand soap in the bathroom. Newspaper offered and accepted on our stay. (Chch press)

While we were close to amenities we only walked into town once as the drive was exceptionally steep and would challenge physically those with any fitness or mobility issue. No dishwasher so if you were intending to cook your meals that may be something that would make a difference

We loved this stay! Perfect location, far enough from the core of town that it's not noisy but close enough to comfortably walk into town if you want to. The one bedroom cabin was very cute and comfortable. Very clean and excellent shower pressure

It's very much a preference, but I would have liked a thicker pillow or second pillow per person available in the room. I'm sure if we had asked though, the lovely gent in reception would have happily obliged

Lovely and quiet location with a quaint personality. Nice to have all the chalets separate so minimal noise from others nearby. Useful laundry facilities on site for a small charge. Our room had all the amenities we needed. Shower was roomy and powerful.

The chalets are up a bit of a steep gravel driveway which is narrow in places, just one thing to be mindful of if you're not using a suitable vehicle. Not a lot of space for large suitcases but there was ample storage room otherwise, not a big deal!
