1. Location was near 7/11 store, bus station, airport bus station, subway, restaurants, and tourist spots 2. Water, food, shampoo, body wash, slippers were available 3. Curtain for the bed was available for privacy 4. Hostel owner and his nephew were very nice, accommodating, and spoke good English 5. Our room had its own shared bath room

1. I was only bothered that the main door for the hostel downstairs was not locked during late at night even though there was a password 2. None negative for the hostel, besides my roommate who snored loud 3. Locker was available but with fee 4. Elevator was not available--this is for those with heavy luggage, but hostel is only at 2nd-3rd floor anyways

Our stay at this hostel was simply amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Tommy and the entire team, who made us feel at home. Their hospitality truly stood out and made our experience even more special. The location is perfect, close to important tourist attractions like the palaces and just a short walk from the subway, making it super convenient to explore the city. The space itself is cozy, clean, and has a great atmosphere. The room was excellent, the bathroom had a warm shower, and it was great to have breakfast included to start the day off right. We couldn't have made a better choice and would definitely love to return in the future. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Seoul!

The ambiance and atmosphere are really nice, pleasant. Everything is neat. The staff is great and Tommy himself is just a marvelous host. You can do laundry (washer and dryer - 1000krw each), there's basic breakfast (coffe, cereal, toast) but you can also cook yourself anything you like as there's a 7eleven just next to the hostel, so you can always grab some groceries or a quick bite. Also, for the location, I can't stress enough how good it is. For example the entrance to the Changdeokgung palace is just down the street, the Insadong Street is really near, and you have a subway station where three lines cross (really important, makes traveling way easier) just 200-300m away. Overall, I would definitely stay again and highly recommend the place.

Hostel Tommy was the perfect stay as I wrapped up living two and a half years in Seoul. I needed somewhere to "live" after moving out of my apartment and I knew I wanted to stay in Ikseon-dong. The location was perfect for getting around Seoul, and I loved being so close to the cafes across the street. The room was comfortable, wi-fi fast and staff were helpful and friendly. I highly recommend staying here!

Nothing - my expectations were met, and everything was great for me. My only disappointment was not using the massage chair in the lobby area which I didn't see until my last day! :)

The location is terrific, near the vibrant and trendy network of alleyways containing cafes, bars, restaurants and shops in converted historic courtyard houses (hanok) in Iskeon-dong, which is especially great to visit at night. It's also central to the main historic palaces and shrines and a short subway ride to lovely garden/park walks, Namsan mountain and Seoul tower, markets, shopping and the locations that most of the day tours out of Seoul leave from (City Hall and Muyeong-dong). Tommy is a lovely, welcoming host and the hostel is very well appointed. All the small touches make a difference. There are umbrellas, chargers and other sundries that can be borrowed. The central lounge area is small but comfortable. I had a private double room with bathroom on the third floor. It was a good size and very clean with large windows looking out to the street, but also double glazing so it was quiet even on a busy night. Plenty of charging points and a small fridge too. I would definitely return on a future visit to Seoul.

My only issue was in the bathroom where the towels smelt musty, especially when they get wet, as if they need a good soak. White towels might work better so they can be bleached regularly. Also, the shower really only works well as a hand held one. That might suit some people but isn't my preference. Also note there is no lift, but Seoul is full of stairs and hills so I found it made little difference that you have to climb stairs in the hostel as well.

Hostel Tommy is very accessible and a few meters walk to Ikseondong. Dining is very easy at almost each side street, you can find food and restos to suit your taste. The train station is just around the corner so going around the city is so easy. There is a convenience store just right down the hostel so late night cravings is no problem if you wish to snack. It is also walking distance to the palaces around Jongno district. It is also near the airport bus station, if you have an early morning flight. The room is kept clean. Tommy is very warm to answer any queries for guests. I highly recommend this place to stay.

The location is perfect from subway, even if you have large luggages as the lift's exit is nearby. Compared to the other places we've stayed near subways, this is by far the most direct and nearest to get to from a subway station. The room is as seen in the listing- small but equipped with all the necessities. We met Tommy who greeted us enthusiastically and once, he offered warm packs to us on a heavy snow day. Breakfast was simple but suffice- toast with jam/ cheese slice, cereal, fresh milk, juice & coffee.

The room was clean and quiet. The staff were extremely accommodating and didn't hesitate to answer questions or provide assistance. The location was very convenient. A subway station was a 5-minute walk and tourist spots, such as the palaces and shrines, were all walking distance. There was laundry available at the property.

The bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned and had visible dirt on the floor. The room cleaning service was an additional cost. However, I understand that I booked a hostel and not a hotel and am still very happy with my stay. In the future, I would appreciate the room to cleaned more thoroughly.

We had a fantastic stay. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The biggest highlight is the amazing location. We easily walked to Gwangjang Market, Insadong, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village Cheonggyecheon Stream, and Myeongdong Shopping Street. And Ikseon-dong Hanok street was just a 3 minutes stroll from the hostel! The neighborhood felt safe and lively, with lots of cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores nearby including a 7-Eleven literally as you come out! Plus, the common areas in the hostel were great for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. We’d definitely love to come back!

I had a great 4-night stay at Hostel Tommy. The room was very clean and comfortable, making it a great place to rest after exploring Seoul. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any questions. The overall atmosphere of the guesthouse was welcoming and cozy.

The only downside was that my room was next to the reception desk, and after 11 PM, it got a bit noisy, which made it difficult to sleep before my early morning flight. However, aside from that, everything else was excellent.
