The location is excellent -- Tong Tong is right near the Jongmyo shrine and Jongno 3 station, as well as a ton of great restaurants (tons of Korean BBQ), one of Seoul's historic hanok villages (converted into great shops and cafes), and Seoul's equivalent to the NYC diamond district for anyone interested in doing some jewelry shopping. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and were able to check us in a few hours early, which was super helpful. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable, exactly what we were looking for! Also, PSA for fellow Americans and any others who may not expect it: it is common for places in South Korea to combine the shower with a bathroom, and towels approximately the size of a hand towel are used for drying off, so if you want a large bath towel I suggest packing one. I have seen a lot of reviews of hotels in Seoul mention these two things, which are common and not specific to any single hotel. We did not find this to be an issue but I'm mentioning here for anyone who may not be aware! :)

- Perfect located (directly next to subway and walkable lots of sightseeing spots) - Staff very friendly and helpful - Room was sooo comfy (small but totally enjoyable. You get daily 3 bottles of water and there is a small fridge in the room. - very clean (daily room cleaning) - tasty coffee (for 3€) in the morning available for sightseeing to go :-) And yes, like lots of the reviews here have it as a negative point: The shower in the bathroom is above the sink which is not a problem at all. Yes the bathroom is wet after the shower BUT where is the problem? It’s different to other hotels but it’s definitely nothing negative. For small rooms like in tontong petit hotel it is the best solution.

Nothing to mention.

The hotel is hidden from the main street, but it is good to reach by public transport. It is very close to Insadong, which can be easily explored by foot. You'll find lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The price is perfect for the area. The small double room offers a comfortable bed, clean bedsheets, a small desk area, and a private bathroom. While the bathroom was clean, it was more of a "wet room". The shower is not separate, i.e., the whole bathroom floor will be flooded after showering. We didn't mind, but we thought we should mention it since it isn't so clear on the bathroom images. The room offers slippers that can be used to enter the wet bathroom.

Nice and quiet location, short walk from the station. Interesting restaurants and coffee shops in the area. Lively on the street at night in the commercial area (not next to the hotel). I had arranged a late arrival and the check-in process worked very well.

Directions from the metro station could probably be even more precise. Walking straight out of the exit of the metro, one needs to veer to the right, because another road veers to the left. I took the wrong one initially and circled back. In the morning only coffee/tea available, no breafast.

I had a lovely stay at tong tong! The location was super convenient for the first leg of my first trip to Seoul, since I could easily walk to several key destinations and it was right next to an area with loads of cafes and shops. Lots of public transportation is accessible, too (but I feel like every bit of Seoul had good transportation options nearby). I slept well, and appreciated the back & foot massager that was provided in the room. I was just one person traveling and stayed in the bunk bed single room, so it was more than enough space for me. The view from the window was great to wake up to, and there’s a cozy rooftop and cafe I didn’t get to enjoy enough during my trip. The employees were sweet and I felt very safe throughout my stay, and I was able to leave my luggage for a few hours after checkout.

There was some evidence of past water damage on the ceiling, which caused zero issues during my stay but was just something less comforting, especially sleeping up in the bunk bed. (They have a fabric hanging on the ceiling that hides it.) But for the affordable price, the area and the comforts otherwise, I feel like it’s still in line with the good value of the stay. As a solo traveler I didn’t have an issue with the shower situation, but can see how that might be less ideal for a party of two with the whole bathroom getting wet after the first person showers.

I had a lovely stay as a solo traveler. There rooms are small but big enough for one person and well equipped with a small tv, ac, hairdryer. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious and overall very clean. It’s located in the older parts of Seoul which I prefer but there are metro lines very close that take you to the busier parts of Seoul. The best part of this place is the staff. I wanted to store some luggage in order to travel lightly to Tokyo for a couple of days and they were really kind and helped me find a good storing facility for cheap. I’m very glad to have stayed here.

The location (30 painted on the side road) was excellent to get to and from Palace, Market, Stream and walk across the street to the nice food village (look for alley near the red LED sign) The room is cute and bed nice, great to sit and relax. There is a good rooftop and basement seating area.

While I liked the shower in the wet room, it means the floor is wet by the sink after and so getting ready means you mustn’t put your socks and shoes on until you are ready to leave.

Great location: 10min walk from the airport express, under 30min walk to major temples, lots of very convenient metro/bus lines close Staff was very nice; has a cafe with guest discounts on the ground floor too! There is a direct bus line to KBS Arena if you're coming for a concert. Room is small but has lots of space with the top bed & I had a great view over the temple next door!

Great clean, well thought out space. Very pleasant. Fantastic location just near the metro and the buzz of insadong. Short walk to nearby historic sites and park. Very good communication.

Towels were a bit small!

Excellent location if you want to explore the Jongno-gu / Bukchon area, and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Good coffee and muffins 🙂. And the room (I had a single maisonette), although small, is very cleverly furnished and organised, as is the entire hotel. As the name says, it‘s „petit“, so do not expect much space, but it‘s cozy and comes at a fair price. It‘s not „posh“ in the conventional way but has style, charm and a personal touch.

There’s nothing I didn‘t like about the accommodation, only both google maps and naver map seemed confused, so taxi drivers had a hard time finding the place.
