The location was perfect for us. Checkin and checkout was simple. English is spoken by the staff and communication was no problem, though I did attempt to fumble through some German. Restaurant on site was a bonus, as was the free welcome drinks at the bar. The room and the bed was very comfortable. In addition, the views of the church, square, and the markets from the window were very nice.

The location makes up for this, but the church bells tolling for a rather lengthy amount of time at 6 AM definitely started your day then, rather you wanted to sleep in or not. :-)

Friendly staff, comfortable and clean room, unbeatable location. I worried that with the cathedral and the daily market right out the front door it may be difficult to get a quiet nights sleep, but the double-paned windows block out all potential disturbances. I booked a double room which was well appointed and great for one person or a couple. When my father arrived half way through my stay, we were upgraded to a suite at no additional cost. The extra space was great and the sofa bed was reasonably comfortable (maybe a bit firm for some). Did not try the restaurant separately but the breakfast was good. Definitely would stay here again.

I liked the location on the Munsterplatz. Other places I wanted to visit were an easy walk away. The tolling of the a huge bell for five minutes at 0600 and 1800 was a shock the first time I heard it but not a major problem. It was fun to watch the daily market vendors set up in the morning and even more fun to search the market for good things to eat. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent.

I suppose it would have been nice if the elevator went all the way up to my room, but I had no problem with the stairs and probably benefitted from a lower rate.

Lovely spacious room on the top floor. Tastefully decorated. Beautiful large shower room. Great location with shops restaurants and even the local market sets up right in front of the hotel with a beautiful display of fruits and veg and plenty of food stalls and a great range of goods. Great view of the cathedral. Paid parking is available nearby in a good car park.

It's hard to find something to dislike. The lift only went to floor 3 and had to walk up a few stairs to floor 4, but that was no problem and they did offer to carry suitcases but that wasn't required. Being opposite the cathedral you did hear it chime but found that quite charming.

I truly couldn’t imagine a better location while staying in Freiburg than this hotel! We had a view of the cathedral from our room and the bells were amazing. Trying their restaurant is a must - the food and service were top notch! The room was very clean, check in/out was easy and their breakfast was unbelievably delicious. A lot of heart went into creating such a beautiful breakfast buffet. They even offered complimentary champagne upon arrival and at their breakfast. We will definitely return!

Staff was super friendly! Location is perfect and apartment was really clean and nice.

Breakfast items quality was very good, but they ran out on several items (scrambled eggs, fruit, for ex) after only one hour, and we had to keep asking if they were going to refill, and for some items they simply didn't . Although the hotel and apartment were quite good, I wouldn't exactly recommend the breakfast, as it was quite expensive and some basic items were not served to us.

Perfect location in front of the Cathedral, easy to find and within walking distance from from public parking Karlsbau P13, perfect for our one night stay for a concert in town. Room very clean and warm, spacious bathroom, lift available. Best feature: Room windows facing the Cathedral and waking up with the sound of church bells.

Walls not very sound proof, I could hear next doors` bathroom usage throughout the night.

The hotel is in an excellent location, tidy, and charming. It features a wonderful restaurant on the ground floor. The rooms have views of the cathedral and the square. It felt like home. I would certainly return there.

The fruits and vegetables weren't exactly the cleanest for the juice. Maybe not the best selection of fruits. The muesli wasn't very flavorful.

We loved the location! So fun to have breakfast each morning from the Munsterplatz vendors. Perfect location to enjoy the best of Freiburg. Cute outdoor eating area. Awesome to have a 2 bed, 1 bath apartment with a little balcony to enjoy. We would stay here again due to location and facilities.

It was very warm and no air conditioning which I typically prefer. Important to note, it is noisy behind the building starting at 5am with deliveries, vendors, garbage trucks and staff rolling metal carts over cobblestone under your windows. We rented the apartment and had a private entrance, but they brought us through the restaurant to get to our stairs, later they scolded us for taking that same path. We would NEVER had taken that path they took us through if they simply stated - please use the outside entrance for all future access.

Great location, very clean. It was so warm our first night, temperatures in the 90s even with windows open. Staff was great at setting up a cooling system the next night, made the night much more comfortable for the kids.
