The room was quite spacious and nicely renovated. The bathroom was large, the staff were friendly, and the location was perfect, right in the center of Oakland and just next to the BART station. Although I didn’t request housekeeping, one day I received a great room cleaning, which was a pleasant surprise.

For some reason, internet access wasn’t included by default. Registering in their system eventually grants free access, but that’s not something you want to deal with right after arriving at a hotel. Also, I was double-charged for my stay. I noticed it immediately, and the manager refunded the full amount on the spot. Still, if I hadn’t been so attentive, it could have caused serious trouble.

The room and the view was amazing. The bed was fabulous. The staff was very helpful. I really liked the decor too.

I had asked to check in early, but never really got an adequate answer by e-mail. I tried to check in at 2:15 and was told I would have to pay $30 extra. I was surprised. I didn't check in early. I have been told this is pretty standard practice now. I had a VERY hard time finding the parking for the hotel. All the spots up front were filled and I circled around the building 3 times and then the valet told me where the parking garage was. More specifics would be greatly appreciated

I want to give a special shout-out to the hotel staff, and especially the restaurant staff. They are so friendly, responsive, and professional down to the smallest details. I rarely eat at hotel restaurants when I stay somewhere, but I went back three times because the service was so good there. And everyone I encountered at the front desks and housekeeping were so friendly and enthusiastically greeted me as I passed (even when I didn't need something). The property is good too--it has been renovated and, overall, the rooms are modern and comfortable. But the staff really stood out to me.

Bathrooms were clean but can use an overhaul (they are small, so it would be better to have a top quality shower stall instead of using up so much space on a small and uncomfortable bathtub).

Well equipped room and very comfortable bed. Individual room temperature control worked well. Decent bathroom with good shower. Friendly reception staff. Location directly in front of the BART rail system entrance, on a direct line to San Francisco and Oakland airports and the Oakland arena and stadium venues. Many nice cafés and small food shops nearby. I only ate one meal from the restaurant, but it was delicious.

Windows were only single glazed so some street noise even on a high floor. There should never be additional charges for WiFi in 2025. Paper cups, rather than ceramic, provided with coffee machine and very limited tea/coffee supplies in the room, which seemed like unnecessary cost-cutting for a hotel of this quality.

Location was very comfortable, close to BART and city center. Very comfortable bed. Simple and fast check in process. View from hotel was nice.

Sound proof could be better. I was moved to another room according to "unforeseen circumstances" Process of moving was not comfortable - door was just closed when I back to hotel in evening. Also Staff was not familiar with process - they send me with different set of keys 3 times, assuring keys must work, while in fact I can't open door on my own until security manually open it for me.

The location is excellent. Across the street from BART, walking distance to Jack London Square and a ton of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Friendly staff who loved our three year old. We never felt unsafe, but we were always out during daylight. The room was very nice. Comfortable beds, nice shower, tub for our kid. There was a great view of the port of Oakland, SF, Bay, and hills (seventh floor). I would stay here again.

The parking is $45 a night (more if you need to drive your car in and out). We had an extremely noisy neighbor, but security dealt with it right away and we slept fine the rest of the night.

Bed was comfortable, facing a wall of cabinets, television, beverage, and refrigerator. There were windows with a view and a lounge/seat with flexible worktable. Vibe was business yet pleasant and comfortable. TV worked well and was easy to control (unlike the past 4 places I've stayed). Shower was very nice. Outlets including USB were adequate. Hotel and lobby had a business vibe but staff was friendly and tourists were welcome. Valet parking worked well and felt safe. We came as tourists for a concert at the Fox Theater.

The bedside lighting was convenient but very bright; a dim setting would be nice for when one guest goes to sleep early and the other doesn't. When I called the night before to ask about the parking process, staff member was vague and gave as little information as possible. If she had been a tiny bit friendly and explained the process, (that we could give car to valet before completing checkin) we could have checked in and met guests waiting for us in the restaurant 15-20 minutes sooner. I don't know if I got Marriott/Bonvoy credit or not for this stay arranged through booking.com.

The location is central to downtown Oakland. The staff is excellent customer service. Our flight was canceled, and I had to rebook for another night even though I booked a different room. But the staff let me stay in the same room, which is a plus. We don't have to move again. The room is spacious with a city view. We definitely will stay here again next time. Restaurants are nearby, but everything is closed at 9 pm except one Chinese food restaurant, which remains open till 3 am.

Layout is thoughtful. I like that there are some turns to get to the main part of the room (as opposed to a straight hall). Gives the room some privacy and makes the space feel special. Everything feels updated, modern. From the mattress to the pillows, beds are 10/10.

The shower would leak a lot of water onto the floor. There should be a small guard in front of the sliding glass.

Excellent stay this time~)) Check in was very easy; the receptionist simply gave me the key card for the room to check in then I am in. Room was big & clean, I really liked it even on the 8th floor~! Location is central right in the heart of Oakland by 12th st & Broadway. Just have to be careful walking at night sometimes because there are barely anyone walking on the streets here. Best restaurant here especially at night is the SHOOTING STAR CAFE that opens till midnight! They've got not only Chinese delicious dishes but also some western sandwiches as well as other western food! Nice! Bed was very comfortable to stay in. The AC in the room is very useful especially during the early morning when it's very cold. Overall, very nice! Love the Christmas Tree decoration too!

The queue at the reception desk sometimes can be very long because there's not that many receptionists working there in the early mornings nor midnight. So please be prepared to wait longer.
