The property is on a slight hill and has a lovely view with a great verandar and outdoor furniture. The host Sue is lovely and when I asked for some ice for our drinks, it was not a problem. You get fresh fruit each day with anything else that neeeds to be replaced for your continental breakfast. Town a a few minutes' walk and everything is close by. There are also some lovely walks near the property. Russell is small, so eveything is clsose. There is a big supermarket and plenty of restaurants and cafes. We did the tall ship sailing boat trip which was great. The room was spacious and comfortable, I would definitely recommend it. I think you are better off staying at villa Russell with the lovely outlook and spacious verandar than along the waterfront.

The owner , Sue was exceptionally hospitable and had thought of everything a traveller might need and value. There are just 2 suites and you can be very private. The room is enormous with a very large bed and sofa sitting area. There is outside seating as well. The breakfast provided was delicious and thoughtful. The main area of Russell for eating out and shops is a short 5 minute walk . The drive up to the villa from the main road is very steep and could cause a problem for limited mobility but one could always drive down and leave the car at the bottom, walk into town and then drive back up if needed. The height is so worth it for the magnificent views of the bay of islands. Thoroughly recommend this lovely place.

Everything was perfect

Welcomed by Sue, and shown around the lovely accommodation and made sure we were comfortable Sue is a great host, there is lovely views from the verandah and table and chairs to sit on.

Breakfast was supplied, bit disappointed, thought we may have had a cooked breakfast, the breakfast was in the fridge on arrival. For the price we paid I would have expected more and fresh each day.

Amazing warm welcome by the owner - gave us all the informations we needed to know about both the accommodation and eateries/restaurants/sights. Very spacious accommodation with everything one needed for a comfortable stay - appliances, china, crockery, etc. Villa Russell was located amongst native bush (with the beautiful birdsong) only five minutes walk into the town centre - a superb location with wonderful views over the township and across the harbour. Breakfast was included - to enjoy on the veranda.

Absolutely nothing to dislike

Lovely location .Very comfortable bed and pillow. Local new Zealand fruits to try well appreciated.Always enough tea and coffee in the room.

The continental breakfast from the room fridge could have been more exciting, rather basic.Missed variety. Fruits were very nice. No eggs or cheese.

Really cool way to offer the continental breakfast. Friendly atmosphere to learn about the area. I wish I brought a flashlight cause kiwis aren't the area. 5 minutes from town. If you forget something it's soooo, easy run back and retrieve it. And let's not forget. The fur babies come to visit

The location is very good , walking distance from the sea waterfront where all the restaurants and bars are located . The breakfast was correct , we found everything in the room and the refrigerator . We had breakfast in the terrace just out of our room, it was great ! Mrs Sue , the owner of Villa Russel is a very nice lady and help us a lot giving very interesting suggestions .

Location was perfect, walking distance to township. We didn't use our car once for the whole 2 days. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was just what we needed.

Beautiful view but absolutely no sun to this property at this time of the year. The shower was brilliant, but wet everything - the toilet the hand basin. Maybe another extractor fan would have helped.

A stay to remember - a tropical storm a power cut and then a delay to getting to the Opua ferry due a blocked road - apart from that we enjoyed ourselves very much. Sue is a lovely host and went out of her way to help.

The weather!!

In perfect location of picturesque Russell - walking distance to ferry, restaurants and historic sights around village. Our room was huge & well equipped with every comfort and more for our stay. The deck was perfect for breakfast and surrounded by a beautiful garden full of birdsong. Sue was the perfect hostess giving us tips for our stay as well as providing a fantastic breakfast. Did I mention the breakfast?!
