For a bed and breakfast establishment their facilities were way beyond expectations. There were two lounges available to relax in with tea and coffee available plus water to fill up your flasks 24/7. Amy and James were always on hand to assist with their local knowledge on transport, restaurants and anything else you could wish for. The hotel was spotless everywhere and the bedroom was well equipped with plenty of cupboard space and a really good shower. Breakfast was first rate. The hotel has bus stops right outside which is a real bonus as the Sherpa Bus company operating in the area has a wide range of destinations available. In fact you could make do without using a car. My wife and I stayed for two nights but wished it had been for longer so we could have explored more of the region. Highly recommended.

There is nothing to dislike

The Lake View is an exceptional establishment. Amy and James are extremely tentative, it’s just like staying with family and friends. The lounge area is comfortable and homely, with the added bonus of a roaring fire. Perfect for cozy nights, enjoying a glass of wine. Breakfast is outstanding, beautifully cooked, with lots of choice. Amy’s attention to detail is outstanding, always remembering your preferred choice of drink, and making you feel that nothing is too much trouble. The little touch of a chocolate egg on Easter Sunday was a lovely touch, especially for my son James. We will absolutely be coming back, the rooms are warm and cozy, a lovely place to stay, amazing hosts and a fantastic location. Thank you so much for making our visit so pleasurable.

Incredibly peaceful location – comfortable, cosy, and spotlessly kept. The lounge was perfect for relaxing tired legs after a day on the mountain, with a local beer in hand. Amy and James were wonderful hosts: welcoming, attentive, and clearly proud of what they do. Breakfast was perfectly cooked and just the right amount to set us up for the day. Every detail shows the care and pride they take in sharing their home. Just a short stroll or quick drive to Llanberis – an ideal base for exploring the area. We’d return in a heartbeat!

We didn't want to leave!

Amy & James were fantastic hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The best breakfast, comfortable bed, room was clean and smart. Cosy lounge area.

Nothing we didn’t like but some suggestions to add the icing on top of the cake. Tea & coffee in the bedroom would be good. Although this was freely available 24/7 in the lounge, it meant you couldn’t have a cuppa in bed! Another bonus would have been somewhere to dry clothes & boots after a wet day of walking but neither of these spoilt our stay, would have just enhanced it. It’s worth noting the hotel is on a very busy road and the traffic can be noisy. A toilet on the ground floor would be beneficial.

Amy and James were absolutely wonderful hosts, very friendly and welcoming, and couldn't do enough for you!! The hotel was superbly located for the centre of llanberis and exploring Snowdon...it had everything that we needed including parking and was super comfortable and the breakfast was delicious!! We would without question stay again when visiting this area!!

Not a dislike and just a personal preference, I like to have cuppa facilities in our room to have coffee soon as I wake without feeling I had to get dressed first (and i wouldnt put this on the hosts!!) However this wasn't a major issue, the facilities were close by and your hot drinks could be taken back to your room 😊

Nice quiet location, good parking, even though it’s next to a main road-far enough outside Llanberis to not be affected by noise but close enough to walk into Llanberis. Staff very attentive and friendly. Couldn’t have been more helpful with recommendations and suggestions for buses and evening meal. Facilities were very clean and modern, nice homely feel and the cooked breakfast was excellent.

Mattress was a touch soft-personal preference but I still slept pretty well! Nit picking, not enough to put me off returning when in the area.

Amy & James have a wonderful place to stay. We were on a nine day road trip around Wales and this was easily the best place we stayed. If/when we return to Wales and we are near here I would book without hesitation. The breakfast was great, mum really enjoyed James' porridge and Amy couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our stay. Special mention goes to the shower which was excellent - lots of pressure and hot.

The fault I can find with our stay was that it was too short.

Amy and James were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. They state that the hotel is 'home from home', this is a great way to describe it. Attention to detail was very good, room was spotlessly clean, garden view lovely and the breakfast was superb. My early start was accommodated with home made muslei (thankyou James!), which was excellent. Value for money was good too considering the service. Walk to Llanberis was 15min and nice to be out of the main town. Very much recommended

That I had to come home

We really enjoyed the cosy, quiet and family atmosphere of the hotel. The hospitality was outstanding, everything was very clean and tidy, and the service was excellent. Breakfasts were delicious and generous. What made our stay especially memorable is that this is a family-run hotel, where the owners personally take care of everything from welcoming guests to preparing breakfast – it creates a very warm and unique

There was nothing we didn’t like – everything was perfect.

The hotel has been given a real make over, following the change of ownership, since I went there last. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and able to provide plenty of advice about the area. The food was marvellous, and service extremely good. The porridge was fantastic, and you get a huge bowl of it. Just right to get you up whatever mountain you may be walking/climbing!! (Or complete whatever other adventure!)
