I have stayed here before so returned because it was very good previously. I was not disappointed returning again. The staff were very good and attentive when needed, but also left you to enjoy your own time. The facilities were very clean and functional. This isn't a 5 star hotel more 3 star but excellent value & location and the breakfast included is very good for all tastes, buffet style but unlimited food and drinks of good wholesome quality, a great start to the day. Bedroom was clean and practical and I mentioned a lack of a fridge previously and this visit I noted it was added, so they listen to feedback to improve also, which is very reassuring. I noted other guests included couples and family, though I travelled alone but everyone seemed happy and content, a good sign generally.

Nothing bad, the weather was very hot in July but the air-conditioning coped well.

The facilities were excellent for the price paid and the staff were excellent. I found the location very good for the town and wider area. The breakfast is simple but a great range, with bacon and scrabbled eggs, pastries, fruit and cold meats/cheeses etc. I am a repeat visitor and have found the standards to be high each time. Thoroughly recommended.

Parking the car is always a little hit and miss on the streets, but one can always park at the bottom of the street in a large open area. However that is the nature of this central location and most days I found a place to park nearby.

This hotel offers incredible value, but what truly sets it apart is the extraordinary staff who go above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience. I can’t say enough about Daniel—he's simply phenomenal! From the moment we arrived until our departure the following morning, he was there to assist us with everything we needed. As someone with a background in human resources, I genuinely admire the level of attentiveness and care he provided. If I had a local business, I wouldn't hesitate to hire him on the spot! Thanks to Daniel, our morning was a delight, featuring a delicious breakfast that kick-started our day. The hotel's location is unbeatable—just a short stroll away from a diverse array of restaurants. Moreover, it caters perfectly to cyclists, providing a secure indoor space to keep bicycles safe. We chose this hotel while completing our journey on the N2, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone embarking on the same adventure or simply looking for a welcoming place to stay in Castro Verde. You won’t be disappointed!

On arrival, the owner was super welcoming and insisted on taking our many heavy bags to our room so we could make it in time to a restaurant before closing. The hotel took great care to ensure that my gluten-free requirement was taken care of at breakfast. Some nice touches around the hotel included bottled water in the room and coffee stations around the landing. We had a room with a lovely balcony, and it offered a lovely view. I will be sure to return here and explore more the love little town and surrounding area.

Everything was good.

Easily accessible and central, besides being very well maintained. Wheelchair accessible, ramp at the entrance and elevator. Rooms are well maintained and very clean. Breakfast area spotless and with a very good choice of products to delight your palate, including an espresso if you care for it. Ben is constantly verifying that the breakfast area is clean and that there are no missing products for the guests. Last but not least, once I arrived, I was greeted by Ana’s smile at the front desk and later by Ben. If you ask, they’ll refer you to restaurants and any points of interest in the region. All in all, besides the cleanliness and the amenities, the friendly personnel add a special touch to the place.

Everything was good and even better than my last; I returned because of how good it was at my last stay, so that is saying a lot. Just cannot get better value for money, the included breakfast is varied, self-serve and the rooms very clean and comfortable. I shall certainly be staying again.

Amazingly I left feedback that a small fridge to keep drinks cold in would be great; imagine my delight to see a fridge now in the room, so even if there was something to comment about, they certainly listen, which is to their great credit.

Staff were very helpful and friendly people. The room was clean and tidy and spacious. The breakfast was good, and the self buffet. Water flow was strong enough.

The A/C is set on Air flow and (Not the air-conditioning settings)at 24c, which is hot for the room, and the hotel placed a note on the remote control that asks guests not to change the settings. Considering the outside temp was 34c and night at 26c, it was so hot. I paid for a room with air-conditioning and didn't get it. I know hotels do this to safe electric prices, but I had a very uncomfortable hot night.

Tidy, mid-sized hotel in a great location. Rooms were small but comfortable with doors that opened to outside street. Staff was exceptionally kind and helpful, greeting us with offers for juice, coffee, cakes and showing us where to store our bikes. Front desk always had someone available to answer questions. Breakfast was lovely with home made cakes, all the usual items and nice touches like cinnamon sprinkles and hot milk for the coffee.

We had a very pleasant experience at Hotel Vila Verde. We spent a few days there & all the staff were nice, helpful & professional. I’d like to emphasize the breakfast, there was a great variety of choices! The hotel is at a great location with local restaurants nearby. Highly recommended! Exceptional hospitality!

Staff very pleasant and communicative. Superior king room was comfortable, roomy, had a balcony + expansive, lovely regional countryside views. Bar fridge + coffee in room. Parking was easy (free). Breakfast was a sumptuous treat with so many delicious choices including many types of fresh fruit cuts, hot meal, pastries + cakes, cheeses and cold cut meats.
