The location of the room gave us city and river views. The menu was excellent, as was the food. It was a pleasure to have a varied menu from other local hotels. Each Manager (check-in manager, breakfast room manager and house keeping manager) were awesome and fixed any issue immediately. Every staff person went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful.

Parking was difficults. Initially there were things in the room that didn't work. The TV remote needed new batteries; one lamp didn't turn off, and the hairdryer was not easy to use as an older guest.It required constantly pushing the "on" button.

A lovely and welcoming hotel. Room was a good size, very clean and bed very comfortable. The location was excellent, in the centre of Kilkenny close to all shops, cafes, restaurants and the castle. The outdoor space was particularly good, with a very nice eating and drinking area along the river. Breakfast was also very good, with a hot and cold food buffet available in a large bright room. Staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. Free off-street car parking was a nice plus.

Couldn’t find any faults - if pushed I might say that the bathroom was a little bit dated, but it was clean and everything worked.

Situated perfectly along the river with views of the castle, easy walking access across the bridge to the main shopping area. Terrific free parking, delicious full buffet with offerings for every dietary need, friendly staff and exceptionally clean.

Unfortunately, the rooms are not air conditioned and being situated in room 229, on the top floor it was hard to cool off in mid-August. Though a fan was provided, we still stuck a shoe in the door when we could to get some cross-flow ventilation, which is the only reason for the lower rating. Everything else was exceptional.

The view was great staff very friendly and helpful breakfast was good. Had a short walk into the town and all the great attractions that we wanted to explore.

I feel the hotel was tired upstairs it could do with painting and maybe new carpet, also our room looked over to other bedrooms and I couldn’t come out off bathroom after a shower and dry my hair as the people in the other rooms can see into our room, had to shut the curtains and put lights on made room very dark and warm. I like to sit in my towel and dry my hair. But bed very comfortable.

Standard of room was excellent. Bed was very comfortable, room spotless, great central location, and attractions in the city were all an easy walk away. Chose to eat dinner in hotel and service and food quality were excellent. All staff were very pleasant at every interaction. I would stay here again or at any of the Neville Group hotels.

I wouldn't normally spend as much on myself. However, the rate I paid was well within the city's average hotel rate, and I have to be fair as I did check other options. I also must say, again, to be fair, I travelled in what would be classed as 'high season' so generally accommodation is slightly more expensive than cooler months.

I'm a vegan and the staff were very lovely. They advised me at check in at reception to tell my server the next day. You have a full vegan breakfast which is very much appreciated and then vegan spread too. I like brown toast and your bread is good quality - I stay at hotels a lot and some are not so good but yours is. The coffee is lovely too and I really liked that the waiter brought both coffee and tea on a tray and asked me to choose - so I'm not waiting! The location is absolutely stunning - you must have the nicest view of any hotel in Ireland. The lady on reception in the dining room was very warm and welcoming. I will recommend you very highly to all my friends and family. Your staff are trained and experienced in what they do. Fabulous stay - I enjoyed it so much. Thank you!

Really nothing could be improved. Everything was spot on!

We stayed for just one night, a mistake as there is so much to see in Kilkenny! The hotel is ideally located on the river across from the castle and easy walking distance to all the main sights and bars and restaurants. Room was very clean and comfortable, located at the far end of the corridor right beside a service elevator, I was worried about noise. There was a bit when housekeeping staff started work at around 0800 but not too bad. The hairdryer in the room didn't work and it was too close to check-out time to request and wait for a replacement. The buffet breakfast was good. Variety of pastries, bread, cereals and fruit as well as the usual cooked Irish breakfast items. The hotel car park is very handy and we could leave the car there after check-out to have another wander around and check out a few things we didn't get to see the previous day.

The location was absolutely perfect - everything within a really short walk - it was in position A in a delightful town. We definitely intend to be back again and again!! We loved it!! The room was very well equipped (*no safe and I don't think it had a fridge?) but everything else was really nice and a separate work desk and table and 3 chairs - excellent! Guaranteed parking on site albeit a bit strange the way the parking was located around the hotel.

The only thing to flag is this hotel seems incapable of cooking fried eggs! The self-service breakfast was delicious except all days the fried eggs were overcooked and piled into a silver container to keep warm like at a poor motorway service station! Come on chef!!! Everything else was 10/10!! Staff were really well trained and attentive and super friendly.

Very friendly, exceedingly helpful and caring staff. Brilliant central location with safe parking. There was a great variety of tasty food for breakfast. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the unexpected treat of a concert which was coincidentally being held during our stay. The loyalty scheme which is run by the Nevillehotels is a great idea. Unfortunately we could not take up the surprise invitation letter, left under our bedroom door on our last night, to extend our stay for a lot less. Plan to return when next in Kilkenny.

Can't think of a thing!

I liked the location where the hotel is. It's very close to everything and that there are a lot of things you can see and do in the area. I like the fact that the hotel staff granted my request to give us a room where we can have a nice view. It made our stay very special and we will definitely be back and would recommend the hotel to our family and friends.

The only thing that I didn't like is the service at the bar is quite slow people are queing to buy a drinks and there's only 1 Bar staff. I know they are busy that day but it can be improve.
