Location is excellent. Convenient for accessing the city centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. Although the room was small, this was not an issue for our one night stay. It was clean and modern and had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice and delicious food. The hotel having a free onsite car park was a huge bonus.

As the building is old, the layout was quite confusing. However, had we stayed longer than one night, it is likely that we would have got used to it and been able to find our way round more easily.

The hotel was located in a central location for my travelling requirements. I ate at the hotel both evenings I was there and have to say the extensive choice was excellent and both nights I ordered there evening specials, and I have to say the specials did not disappoint - compliments to the chef.

It's not what I didn't like, it's an observation only. The hotel is in the middle of a refurbishment, but don't let that put you off. When you enter the reception you can see where they are going with the refurb, absolutely stunning, classy, and in keeping of this hotel. If you can get by the dated bedroom decor that will be transformed in time. It's worth the stay

The room was recently renovated and it’s clear that it’s been done to a very high standard. The team on reception were very welcoming and gave us lots of great recommendations for the local area. Speaking of which, the location is excellent - right in the centre of town but the rooms are out the back and therefore it wasn’t noisy at all. Breakfast was good - everything came out quickly which was appreciated as we were in a rush.

Nothing I can think of. The back building just doesn’t have a lift which might be an issue for some.

All hotel staff were outstanding! Everyone was very helpful in providing directions to different locations in Kilkenny. The entire bar staff were professional, provided delightful options for trying Irish Whiskey and Irish beers. It was such a pleasure to hear the history of the hotel and how it evolved over the centuries. Sarah was such a joy to speak with - she provided exceptional service - as all the bar staff were delightful. The caretaking staff were very prompt and wonderful to chat with. They gave us some wonderful tips for local eateries, which we probably would have missed - and we could not thank them enough for the amazing food we enjoyed during our stay. And, yes, the food at the hotel was fantastic! Thank you Brian for the history of the city and being patient with our numerous questions about the hotel. Club House Hotel will be our only choice if we ever have the pleasure to visit Kilkenny again. Thank you

Location is great. It's our 4th time in Kilkenny and the first in this hotel, but we'll be back for sure. The young lady at the reception was very kind and took the time to show us the way to our room as some improvement works were ongoing in the hotel so the main staircase was unavailable but just for some hours. We also had dinner at the restaurant and food was delicious with lovely people attending to us. All the staff are professional and friendly, Dublin hospitality sector has a lot to learn from here. Do not come if you love impersonal decor and standard design like in the new millenium hotels. This is a journey into the 18th century with the comfort of great beds and well equipped bathrooms. Mesmerizing atmosphere as you can walk through the corridors and grasp a bit of another era!

Tv stand was so shaky we worried the monitor could fall off on the floor. You cannot turn the heat on if you need, but in all fairness the room was warm enough. Not an issue for us, but people with reduced mobility may struggle as the structure is built upon an infinite maze of stairs to access reception and the restaurant.

Location was great.

Our room was pretty tired and not in the best of repair. Returning to the hotel after hours presents a bit of an issue as there is no key lock to allow you in and you have to ring a bell and wait in the cold. We were not informed of this and as such we were not dressed to wait outside until someone came. Although the wait was only a few minutes (felt much longer) we were unsure if anyone was coming as this process was not explained in any way upon check in. Hotel was under construction and I don't believe that this was mentioned at the time of booking but it is clearly a project ongoing for some time.

Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean, very friendly staff, especially at reception. Good cooked breakfast and great food in the restaurant. Less than 5 minutes walk from Kilkenny castle and the centre, we can only recommand a stay there. It is old, yes, but bathroom and beds are new and the old interior only adds to the character of the hotel.

To be served at breakfast is nice, but having to ask (and wait) for each cup of coffee is a bit tedious. A pot of coffee on the table would be better and maybe a small buffet with bread, fruit and juice.

I had a comfortable room with desk, small TV, and large bathroom with bath and shower, in the more recent extension (60s?) to the traditional-style hotel. The hotel was very centrally-located with a bar, dining room and snug, and did a good varied breakfast. I found the staff at breakfast particularly cheerful and nice.

My room was off a small corridor where noise carried, and near the fire door back to the staircase: I found this being opened and closed and people chatting in the corridor quite loud. In the end it didn't disturb my sleep however as the guests around me were conscientious.

The hotel was an interesting character. Being an old building, we were intrigued by the structure and design layout of the hotel. We ate in the evening and the food was amazing and portion where enjoyed. The room was warm and nice. The beds were very soft, which is something we are not used to. We prefer a more firmer bed other than that we enjoyed our one night stay here. Very central in letterkenny and close to all amenities. Staff were very friendly and welcoming atmosphere within the hotel was very relaxing and welcoming.
